February 2017 Due to storm damage both south and north of Ventana on Highway 1 the Resort is temporarily closed. Highway 1 which provides the only road access to the Resort has been closed by Caltrans officials due to structural damage to the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge to our north and mud slides to our south. While the experts continue to assess the damage and work needed to repair the bridge and clear the mudslides we are taking direction from Caltrans in a combined effort with the Big Sur community to ensure the safety of everyone in the area. We will update you as we receive the most current information on the repair schedule and the roads estimated reopening.

We are grateful for all of the tremendous efforts by Caltrans which is working tirelessly to resolve the closure and keep the Big Sur community safe. For those of you traveling to the Monterey Peninsula in the near future we strive to take care of you and accommodate your plans as best as possible under the circumstances.

We have a sister resort 20 miles north of Big Sur Carmel Valley Ranch where we have relocated the Ventana team. They are there to assist and discuss options for your travel.
