Didn't feel safe after
I was verbally harassed by a young person in the parking lot.

Positives: Close proximity to everything.

Negatives: The room they gave me was too close to the freeway and felt like a subclass guest.

Its a good hotel and good location (right off the 99 freeway). It seems pretty well kept but just like any old hotel, could use a little updating on the rooms & hotel staff training/customer service.

Positives: I liked the swimming pool & the quiet atmosphere of the hotel.

Negatives: Could use a little updating in some areas. Including staff training/customer service.

This is a great mid-range hotel to stay in. It is in a convenient location and the rooms are comfortable. I like the beds and the extra pillows on each bed. The rooms are spacious. It's nice they offer free WiFi from the lobby.

Positives: I like the rooms - they are very clean and comfortable.

Negatives: Nothing.

This hotel has location, quality staff and a quality enterprise - stay here!

Positives: The hotel staff appears to care about their service as well as the plant!

Negatives: I ate too many warm CC cookies!

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 17 Jun 2011 rated 5 out of 10.

This hotel was very clean and the staff at first appeared to be very helpful and friendly. I did not use room service or watch any on demand TV. I didn't even use the phone in the room. When I call and ask for a manager I get a voicemail and my calls are not returned.

Positives: Clean

Negatives: Billed me with no explanation.

Older hotel, probably would have been 3.5-4 star 20 years ago. One of the hotels you would pick for business meetings. Pool area looks nice.

Positives: Excellent location and value.

Negatives: Bar is not comfortable. Dark.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 24 May 2011 rated 1 out of 10.

Worst hotel experience ever. Carpets are 20 years old if not 30. Bugs everywhere. Ancient tube TV's.

Positives: Cockroaches and bugs in room. Nothing else matters.

Negatives: Cockroaches.

Has a bit older feel to it, but clean and well maintained. Pool and spa were closed for maintenance the night I was there. Comfortable bed, decent food, easy access to airport and freeways.

Positives: Staff was courteous and professional.

Negatives: Bartender spent more time chatting with the restaurant waitress than keeping his bar.

Its a good hotel just getting a little long in the tooth, needs to be revamped!the staff make it nice but you can only do so much with out dated materials.

Positives: The staff / housekeeping.

Negatives: No free Internet / TV out dated have to pay extra to get a nice room.

This hotel was comfortable for what I used it for, a stop over on the way home from vacation. The room was adequate and clean though not fancy. The front desk staff seemed indifferent. My biggest pet peeve is that they want to charge $10.95/day for Internet. I would think to entice more travelers it should be free. The lowest flea bag motels have free Internet. On the positive side they do give you a free cookie.

Positives: Large attractive facility.

Negatives: No free Internet.

A nice hotel, but rooms were not updated, except for flat screen TV. Housekeeping inconsistent.

Positives: Nice large room. Easy parking. Friendly staff.

Negatives: Expensive internet. Property spread out. Long walk to restaurant.

This hotel is located in an area with many hotels and it is the older of all the surrounding hotels it doesn't offer free wifi in the room (even McDonald has free wifi) the public areas look old and outdated, but the room was clean, large and comfortable, other hotels in the area offer free breakfast, but overall a good experience

Positives: Large room great beds and pillows.

Negatives: Needs updating.

The room had big dirty sports on the carpet and it was very bad looking for a hotel like this.

Positives: Close to where I needed to go to.

Negatives: Had no elevator to the 4th floor from the main entrance.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 13 Sep 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

A moderately priced hotel suitable for business functions, meetings. Location is convenient to all highways. Ask for a room away from the highway.

Positives: Conveniently located, safe for women traveling alone.

Negatives: One must wind around a bit to find the rooms...

Hotel would of been fine if the pool was working. We booked just for the pool to come to town to take our granddaughter(4) for a swim. What a huge disappoint. Did get to use the pool at the hotel behind this hotel, but it was very dirty, lots of dirt and sand in the bottom of the pool, so there went our day. No fun for a
four year old granddaughter. Very disappointed.

Positives: We liked that the management listened to our dilemma.

Negatives: Pool was not in operation.

I recommend this hotel for Bakersfield, it is safe and conveniently located, rooms are clean and nice sized room. The pool and grounds are nice and keep up.

Positives: I was able to upgrade my room to a great location in the hotel and very nice size room. The cookies are the best.

Negatives: The restaurant was limited and out of foods on the menu. Staff could be friendlier.

This was an amazing find. We were traveling from San Francisco to LA and decided to stop in Bakersfield over night. We didn't need great accommodations, just a bed and bath but the Doubletree was amazing. The front desk girls were so helpful and friendly. The room was terrific and there is even free Internet in the main lobby. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, it more than met our expectations.

Positives: Hot cookies at check in.

Negatives: I liked everything.

Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, central air instead of a room a/c unit is nice. The hot water was way too hot, so be careful. Overall, very pleased with the stay.

Positives: Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, central air is nice.

Rooms seem stuffy, linen is not new/fresh for what I expect from a 3 star hotel. This hotel does not compare well to Sheraton, Marriott or Marriott Courtyard.

Positives: Promity to downtown.

Negatives: The hotel is showing some age. Specifically, the room had an odor that suggests perhaps people might have smoked in it.

I would have nothing to complain except the ant we observed on top of the desk. I guess it's because our room floor is below ground level. The room is spacious. Front desk is nice to exchange room with two beds. Room is very well furnished.

Positives: Spacious room.

Negatives: Observed ants in bottom floor room.

The hotel itself overall is nice. I know that certain rooms are noisy and difficult to sleep well in. The noisy rooms are really noisy. Beware! If you like good sleep.

Positives: Free cookie and price.

Negatives: Near 99 freeway, very noisy due to this, couldn't sleep well.
