Kayenta is community which is part of the Navajo Nation and is in Navajo County, Arizona. Kayenta is located immediately south of Monument Valley and contains a number of hotels and motels which service visitors to Monument Valley. Like other places within the Navajo Nation, it is illegal to serve alcohol. Arizona does not observe Daylight Time, however the Navajo reservation does. The facility is quite old but has been nicely maintained. Kayenta is in the middle of nowhere but, surprisingly, there was a nice size crowd in the restaurant. We were introduced to Indian fry bread and it was delicious. The room was comfortable and was a nice size. The restaurants portions are .....
The rooms of this hotel are clearly there since the 70's, and have never had an update since. Rooms don't come with a fridge or microwave (as some Holiday Inn Expresses do offer), but Internet is free, and the restaurant serves up a decent, if somewhat overpriced, meal. The best thing is, of .....
