The City of Janesville has a population of Approx. 70,000 founded in 1838 by Henry Janes. His original homestead is a mere 8 blocks from the Inn. The Rock River runs through our downtown area where quaint antique shops and Bistro's line the streets along with speakeasy's and a fudge shop. We boast over 2000 acres of parkland including a portion of The State Ice Age Trail for hiking. The old Armory has had a rebirth as a dinner theatre with three restaurants cast includes broadway actors. Old World Wisconsin a living history museum is a half hour drive and so is The Octagon Milton House part of the "Underground Railroad". Local restaurants include Rock County Brewing Company, 29 South, Lark Market, and Sandwich Bar.
