Nestled among the pines in the scenic New River Gorge area of West Virginia, The Ponderosa Lodge offers comfortable country style lodging at family prices. Each of our ten rental rooms has a private bath and individually controlled heating and cooling. The entire building is non smoking. All of the exciting outdoor activities that the New River Gorge National River and the Gauley River National Recreation Area are noted for, including whitewater rafting, rock climbing, horseback riding and hiking, are within easy driving distance. With accommodations for 32 people, the Lodge is ideal for large group events such as church retreats, business retreats, family reunions, weddings and anniversaries, and hunting or fishing expeditions.

Conveniently located on Route 60, the Midland Trail, The Ponderosa Lodge is an easy 15 minute drive to the New River Bridge and Fayetteville, WV.

Skiing at Winterplace Ski Resort The Ponderosa Lodge is the ideal place for your church youth group or other large group to stay under one roof while skiing at Winterplace Ski Resort.

Our 10 guest rooms each with private baths sleep up to 32 people, and our 1,300 sq. ft. Great Room offers plenty of space for large groups with the convenience of staying in one building. On cold winter nights, we offer hot cocoa and apple cider along with a 1,000 sq. ft. Game Room equipped with ping pong, air hockey, darts, cable TV, and numerous board games.

We are also only 10 minutes from Babcock State Park and miles of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails.

Our 16 acres offers many opportunities for winter play, including snowman building, and hiking. Group discounts available. Kitchen priveleges or catering services are available for an additional cost.
