Historically referred to as Moorefield Junction, Junction received its name because of its location at the crossroads of US Highway 220/West Virginia Route 28 and the Northwestern Turnpike. The community is located along Mill Creek. Local restaurants include Hidy’s Cafe, Old School Italian Sandwich Shop, Hunan Wok Chinese Restaurant, and Superior Motors.
