Nice, convenient location, along the picturesque Columbia River, in Vancouver, WA. Close to everything Portland and airport/PDX, with as little traffic problems as possible. Very clean. Staff, everyone from desk, to restaurant and housekeeping desrve 5 stars. The best.

Positives: Location, clean.

Negatives: Cramped room.

The location and staff was great, but there was so much noise that there were earplugs in the bathroom. All night aircraft, boat and train traffic. I know it can't be helped, but the windows were old & replacing them might have kept out some of the noise!

Positives: Location was great.

Negatives: Incredibly noisy!

Run down, keys don't work, elevator small & slow, bath tub worn out old, pool was old and dirty. Train horns through out the nights. Super old T.V., the mattress & pillows were way too soft & uncomfortable to sleep on. And around the hotel, it smelled old/stuffy.

Positives: Absolutely nothing.

Negatives: This was a run down hotel no way it should be a three star ,electronic room keys did not work ,trains horns all night long.

I found hair on the bedding, bugs in the bathtub. It was terrible. I canft believe this hotel is 3star. The room was really small. (not the same as the picture. When I complained, they said most customer complain this. If you want to stay the same size room, pay $20 more per night. It was horrible experience. I will never go back again.

Positives: Nothing

Negatives: Old and dirty, uncomfortable.

The room was old, but clean. The hotel was clean, but smelly. The restaurant was absolutely the worst we've ever seen. We were there for breakfast and no one wanted to wait on the two of us and a group of four came in 10 minutes later and had drinks before anyone even bothered to come to our table, two tables down. We were tight for time so we said we'd just do buffet breakfast. What a mistake that was! The grease just dripped off sausage, bacon and potatoes. The eggs were not even boxed quality. We have no idea what they were made of. The only thing that was edible was the toast which is pretty hard to screw up. The wait staff was so rude it was unbelievable. We had to even wait to pay and they seemed put out they had to come to cash register. There were at least 4 people to sit people and only one to actually take orders. And those 4 would have nothing to do with us. Just rude and angry. Worst experience we ever had at a restaurant. We will never stay again.

Positives: Maid service ladies were very nice.

Negatives: Food at restaurant was inedible.

Mostly a very pleasant stay. We only stayed one night but it was very comfortable.

Positives: Rooms were great.

Negatives: Restaurant was very over priced!

Lovely location right on the river. Supremely convenient to the Portland Expo center, the airport and Interstate 5. Friendly staff, nicely appointed rooms, lots of free parking. Can't say anything bad about this hotel.

Positives: Pet friendly! Also great location with lovely views, easy commute to Portland.

Negatives: Lighting in the bathroom sink area could be a little righter for cosmetic applications.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 10 Dec 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

Very nice, great comfortable bed.

Positives: Makes other hotels pale in comparison.

Negatives: A little far from our location.

The Red Lion Inn at the Quay was everything I expected it to be: friendly, professional staff; excellent location on the water; and three star quality. This is by no means a four or five star hotel, but they provide comfort, quality, friendly staff, a nice lounge, and a good view.

Positives: Beautiful location on Columbia River.

Negatives: Fairly odd layout of public spaces, although this is likely due to river location.

Clean, convenient to I-5 freeway, nice trail for walking or running along river.

Positives: Located on Columbia River, very nice river trail.

Negatives: By railroad track, guy living in parking lot.

Very old facility! Air conditioner was original 1960's, ran all night clunking and banging. Not in the 3 star class like the Hilton or Marriott.

Positives: Rooms were comfy.

Negatives: Restaurant was very stinky.

The room was nice - well decorated, and comfortable, but very small. The main lobby was nice but the rest of the hotel as well as the restaurant needs an update. The server in the restaurant tried to be helpful but barely spoke English and didn't seem to know what she was doing. Our table - which appeared to be set for guests, ended up being set with dirty napkins and glasses. Because the lounge is a popular night-spot, it looked like the restaurant had been used as overflow from the lounge the night before and no one bothered to check the tables in the morning. I actually used to live in Vancouver and used to work at this exact hotel 16 years ago. Back in its hay day it was "the place" to go in Vancouver. Sad to see its demise. It needs a face lift and some good staff training. I did not feel that this was a 3-star.

<BR/>

Positives: Location - close to everything.

Negatives: The breakfast service was poor. The tables and utensils were dirty.

The hotel is located in close proximity to the Columbia river. The view is great. The parking lot and outside of the building do not say 3 star hotel. My room was fine but had a slightly musty odor as if it had not been used for a while. The staff was not particularly friendly. I was somewhat disappointed with the hotel given that it had a 3 star.

Positives: The hotel is located right next to the Columbia river. The view is wonderful.

Negatives: The hotel is in disrepair on the outside. It didn't appear like a 3 star hotel.

Spent the night here had two drunk woman in the room next to me, called the front desk 4 times finally at 3:00 am they passed out. Never again.

Positives: Very good food.

Negatives: Noise.

While the overall aesthetic of the hotel was wonderful, and the room itself was nice, spacious and clean, the tub had soap scum, hair and dirt in it. When I left a comment card asking for it to be cleaned it was not. The comforters did not match the decor of the rest of the room, which was well decorated and very nice. This took away from the look of the room. While the matching is not really an issue, torn sheets are. The sheet was worn enough that there were tears in the sheets.

Positives: Convenient, parking, easy access and

Negatives: Torn sheets, mismatching room decor, soap scum in tub.

Beware of little bugs!

Positives: Happy hour.

Negatives: Bugs in the hotel room (fruit flies and small spiders).

Beds were comfortable, and the rooms were nice and relaxing with little noise from the freeway, (the fan probably masked it but it was a fairly quiet fan). Having the Riverwalk close, the community and historic parks nearby was a nice surprise. The room set-up was ok but felt as if the two queen beds crowded the room a bit. There was only one lamp for the two beds. This is a just being picky on my part, but the coffee packets didn't have portion info so it was hard to tell how much water to use for brewing.

Positives: Location, comfortable beds, being able to take walks on the river, walk-way & park.

Negatives: Charging almost ten bucks for a continental breakfast. No exhaust fan in the bath.

The area that the hotel is in is a bad one. There is limited parking. The room had some sort of weird odor initially. I'm not sure if it dissipated or we just got used to it, but it didn't smell good at all. The air conditioning didn't work. One of my biggest pet peeves with this place was the shower head. They use those shower heads that shoot water at you like little needles. Those needles hurt like the devil. How this hotel calls itself 3 stars is beyond me. It's no better than a Super 8, in my opinion. It's old, it's poorly designed, and it's not in a pleasant neighborhood. If you want to stay at a Red Lion, stay at the one directly across the river aptly named Red Lion at the River. Red Lion at the Quay is a dump.

Positives: Bath & Body Works toiletries.

Negatives: Everything else. This hotel was horrible.

The staff couldn't have been nicer but we were surprised that there was a dog show happening with lots of four legged guests (not necessarily a bad thing but) and the hotel just needs a little updating in the common areas.

Positives: The fact that it is on the water.

Negatives: It just needs some updating.

This hotel is located on the river in Vancouver, WA with a beautiful view. The hotel however is older and needs a bit of refreshing. Hotel Lobby is attractive with a few different sitting areas. One of my pillows on the bed had a bad smell to it. The bed is comfortable enough but the entire bedroom needs an update. Bathrooms are large and has a separate vanity area, both of which are updated and quite nice. Close to freeway access and small downtown area that doesn't really have much going on. Not many restaurants in the area and what's there didn't seem appealing.

Positives: Beautiful view on the river.

The room was adequate, but not the cleanest. I have a phobia about pink fungus in the bathroom grout. When you enter the room, it was not a fresh smell that I smelled.

The rooms were very luxuriant but tiny. The staff played dumb about a basketball tourney going on that weekend. It was right outside our window literally 1 foot away. Super noisy and started very early. Right on the river - beautiful. Wonderful city park and farmer's market 2 blocks away.

Positives: Right on the river, very nice bed.
