We arrived at the designated check in time but the rooms were not ready so we waited in the lobby for over 3 hours. Staff never even attempted to update us and kept telling us, "30 more minutes" when we would ask the status. At the price they charge, you would think they would offer some sort of consolation to their guests. Seriously...3 hours! The parking prices are ridiculous too. They claim it is $37/day but after taxes and fees, it's closer to $50. I suppose that's par for the course in Seattle, but they should advertise it at the true rate so there aren't any surprises. Also, there was a charge for over $13 on my credit card that was supposedly for something taken out of the mini bar. We had not used anything provided in room's mini bar (because of the prices!), but the billing department refunded that immediately when I called them. Just make sure you watch your credit card statement!
Positives: The beds were incredible!
Negatives: Far too pricey for the service you get.

Rooms not ready by 6 pm. Rude staff in lobby, (my wife fell asleep in a chair after rooms not being ready - staff comes up to me and says, is she with you. No sleeping in the 'family room.
Positives: Comfortable quiet rooms, good mattresses and
Negatives: Rooms not ready at 6 pm. Techno music ad infinitum in lobby. Cheesy names on facilities. Rude staff in lobby. Not accommodating on room selection.

For the subject of my travels, the W was the best choice. Fun, hip and full of amenities. Nice, attentive staff, clean and quite rooms, tasty food and drink, and great location to Pike Place Market and other Seattle attractions.
Positives: It was in the heart of the zone I wish to be in.
Negatives: Can't think of one.

We loved the location and the helpfulness of the staff. The hallways were very dark. The hairdryer in the room was a compact Conair hairdryer. It was horrible and had a burning smell. Not what I would expect from a four star hotel. The room was nice and comfortable. Walls were thin. We could hear a conversation next door in the middle of the night.
Positives: Great location, clean, comfortable.
Negatives: Dark hallways, trouble with key card working, cheap hairdryers.

Great location, but a little too modern for my tastes. Common areas too dark. Reception area very small. Much better hotels available at this star level in Seattle.
Positives: Location was great.
Negatives: Common areas to dark.

Great room, very contemporary and so ultra clean, we could have eaten off the floor, but didn't. The check-in/out process was a snap and the valet was quick and courteous. The workout room was very clean with a lot of choices for a great workout.
Positives: Great room, great hotel.
Negatives: Our view was of the parking garage.

Very clean and lovely rooms. Starbucks directly across the street. Walking distance to everything downtown. Has a stylish feel to it.
Positives: Very friendly young lady when I checked in on the on January 15th.
Negatives: The parking attendant told me to park somewhere else. Odd, and I had to go around the downtown area before parking at the hotel.

Overall nice hotel. No one would return calls about getting a conference area. Parking garage had to wait out on the street for about 10 minutes late on a Sunday night to get someone to park the car and other guests arrived with no where to park and no back up plan for these guests. Also, really loud lobby music at night. Overall - it is a nice hotel, but just travel all the time and wasn't my favorite place.
Positives: Good location easy to find.
Negatives: Not the best customer service.

The W Seattle was spectacular. It is central to all we wanted to see and do in Seattle. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Room was very nice and clean. We will be staying there again. I highly recommend it.
Positives: Great hotel in a phenomenal location for seeing Seattle!
Negatives: Could have had a better view. I'm not complaining. We were not there to look out our window.

I felt like I was watching E! News all around me. The hotel was trendy, mixed with a flair of pretension and self importance. Every which way they could charge extra fees they would. Valet parking was $10 more than other competitors, internet was $15 per day and I found the place rather small. I would have taken all this in stride (since my budget wasn't tight) but having the staff treating you as though they had something better to do was the final slap in the face. My advice, if you have the cash and want something different (from the typical Fairmont) chose a boutique hotel in town. There are many.
Positives: Clean, rooms were up to date.
Negatives: Staff is not friendly.

I enjoyed my 4 night stay and would definitely go back again. Quiet room and efficient housekeeping. The room was cleaned everyday before I got back to my room in the early afternoon.
Positives: Romantic and comfortable.
Negatives: Small lobby.
