The decor was unique and fun. Loved the free wine in the afternoon. Rooms was spacious. Staff was very friendly.

Positives: Decor was unique!

Negatives: Use on Internet on their terminals wasn't free except to print out boarding passes.

Very friendly and great service. Complementary Starbucks coffee served every morning and happy hour every evening.

Positives: Conveniently located with Starbucks coffee and wine hour served every day.

Negatives: We had no view from our room and water pressure was low and the tub drain was slow on the 11th floor.

Overall, our stay at this hotel was a great experience and would stay again, however be prepared for valet parking only is very expensive. When booking on Priceline, parking is not included in your bid price. Also we could not find the pool. One of the highlights was the restaurant in the hotel, very reasonably priced and one of the best meals we had over a 4 day period trying the best places to eat in Seattle. The desk staff were exceptionally competent.

Positives: Great location, and all amenities as expected in a 4 star hotel.

Negatives: Never found the swimming pool, Internet never worked, had to overspend my Verizon account to get minimal business done.

We were excited about staying downtown Seattle as we wanted to shop and visit the Market. The garbage pickup at night was horrendous. The clanging and rolling of garbage carts started at 10:00 pm and did not stop until 4:40 am. It was extremely upsetting.

Positives: It's location was right downtown Seattle which was what I desired.

Negatives: Staff was unfriendly. Construction, garbage noises was a nightmare!

Staff was great, the food in the restaurant was good, but a tad pricey. They offer a complimentary glass of wine during a reception hour. I overheard the desk clerk offer a woman who missed the reception a voucher for a free glass of wine in the restaurant. The room was comfortable, especially the bed and pillows. Bathroom was spacious and very clean. Parking was expensive and valet was the only option. Vehicle was not easily accessible and we forgot something we needed in the car. Overall, I felt like I got my moneys worth with the Priceline discount!

Positives: Staff was very solicitous and helpful; room was spacious and clean, bed extremely comfortable.

Negatives: Room was a weird layout and maybe a tiny bit too worn for what I expect from a 4-star hotel.

We Loved this hotel and would try another Kimpton hotel again. We LOVED our roommate... Fred the goldfish! Front desk clerks were so very helpful and very friendly. We enjoyed the Manager's wine reception in the evening. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Positives: Loved Fred the goldfish! Front desk clerks were very helpful and very friendly. We enjoyed the Manager's wine reception.

Negatives: Parking was the only issue, valet was convenient but quite expensive at $36 per night.

Very clean and upscale. Friendly staff and great location. It's a short walk to all downtown attractions.

Positives: Enjoyed the free wine down hour nightly from 5p to 6p.

Negatives: Cost of in room refreshments.

This is a great hotel - in a perfect downtown Seattle location. Would definitely stay here again. The rooms are a little on the small side, but for one person it was not a problem at all.

Positives: The hotel was very comfortable and clean, in a great location.

Negatives: You have to request a coffee maker - I would prefer that one already be in the room.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 24 Feb 2011 rated 9 out of 10.

The room was very clean, but could use some updating. The bed could use some updating as well. The hotel staff was excellent, gave us a comp upgrade just because it was a special occasion. I will stay with them again.

Positives: The staff and attitude was excellent.

Negatives: Room service was not up to the scale of the hotel.

The hotel is in an excellent location and it was the nicest four star hotel we have stayed at yet. Thanks to Priceline we have stayed at several four star hotels in the downtown Seattke area.

Positives: Best Hotel yet for the money.

Negatives: It did not having a swimming pool.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 08 Feb 2011 rated 8 out of 10.

This hotel was quaint and cozy. The room we received was in the alley and the dumpster woke us up early and the bottles being emptied as well. I suppose that is what I get for bidding for the room the same day, but I still feel that if you bid for a 4 four star hotel, you should receive the same amenities you would as if you paid full price.

Positives: The room was cozy, the restaurant was wonderful.

Negatives: The room we received was near the alley and heard dump trucks all morning.

The public space was well kept, and nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful, but not particularly knowledgeable about the city. Couldn't really figure out if there was a dedicated concierge. The room we had was nicely appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the bedding quite nice. Not much space for laying out work and not very well lighted for reading unless you are lying in bed. And to the best of my knowledge I couldn't find a list of the channels available on the TV. had to go through all of them to find out if CNBC was available.

Positives: Friendly staff who seemed helpful, if not over knowledgeable about the city.

Negatives: Staff was a little young and not really polished, but very friendly. Expensive parking!

Lovely hotel, and the staff was great. Room kind of small with no view. However, comfortable bed, nice bathroom.

Positives: Nice decor, good customer service.

Negatives: View of wall, tiny room.

Overall, the location was great, but I would rate it the same as, let's say, the Westin in Seattle and I only paid about $5 more for the room at the Westin.

Positives: It was a unique hotel with a certain charm, loved the robes!

Negatives: The beds were not really comfortable, a when I called the front desk female clerk wasn't very friendly.

The location was great, room was clean and cute. But, our bath water would only come out Luke warm. Called front desk and they sent up handyman. He said he'd fix it. We came back and I took a bath with very hot water, but then the water wouldn't turn off!!! Called again and they sent up another handyman. He couldn't fix it, so we just didn't have water for the shower or bath. It was a little weird and they didn't even offer any sort of compensation or to switch rooms. It was just weird. They room was nice besides that though. The restaurant downstairs looked great, prices were moderate, but food was just OK. I would recommend staying here.

Positives: The location was great, 1/2 mile walk to the Market and shops.

Negatives: No hot water, then water wouldn't turn off.

Excellent customer service, but the actual room was awful.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Poor amenities. Mattress was broken, very noisy room location. Possible fleas on the bed.

Love the lobby -- beautiful fireplace and furniture. Front desk staff was helpful and pretty friendly, but had a hint of snootiness you get at nice hotels sometimes. The room was lovely, but squeezed between the stairwell and ice maker.

Positives: Unique decor was beautiful and added to the overall experience of being in boutique hotel.

Negatives: Room was very small and crowded, bathroom grout moldy and dirty in places in shower and floor.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 14 Mar 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

Overall excellent, the room was clean, comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Positives: Coffee available in lobby.

Negatives: Coffee in lobby only available till 9am.

Positives: Nothing in particular.

Negatives: Staff at bar.

I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it. The room was terribly noisy. Each time a door would open in other rooms, ours would shake and rattle. The plumbing was so noisy it woke us up each morning as other guests would shower or flush

Positives: The location.

Negatives: Very noisy. Decor dated. Chairs in room stained. Uncomfortable bed/pillows. VERY noisy!

Character, good sized and well appointed rooms. Great location, would highly recommend.

Positives: Great staff.

Negatives: Expensive parking.

I love Kimpton Hotels but will not return to Hotel Monaco Seattle.<BR/>It was my mom, my sister, and myself and they gave us a room with one bed after we had asked for two. Then they charged us for a rollaway that was more comfortable than the actual hotel bed. The garbage truck comes at 4:30am each morning. From the 4th floor you can hear every bus on 4th Avenue.

Positives: Very clean, large rooms, friendly doorman.

Negatives: Bed was hard as plywood, lots of street noise.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 17 Feb 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

All I can say is AWESOME. It was more than I expected. Would stay there again and again.

Positives: The room and the staff was outstanding.

Negatives: Nothing I didn't like.

Had a great time. Second visit. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant lounge interacting with fellow travelers as we waited for our dinner seating. Wine tasting in lobby was obviously a popular event with many attending.

Positives: Retro vintage charm, nice social hour with wine tasting, nice restaurant.

Negatives: Could use a little more seating in lobby for social hour - expensive parking $36/night.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 07 Feb 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

Good location but nothing special. The room we stayed in was old and needed to be remodeled. It wasn't what we expected for a 4 star in downtown Seattle.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Unexpected fee for parking.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 03 Feb 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

Convenient location, friendly staff, room needed updating, parking cost was very high.

Positives: Large bathroom, comfortable bed.

Negatives: Parking cost $42 with tax for one night.

Pretty darn cool getaway hotel situated a short walk to the Public Market. The lobby area is almost opulent, the hallways wide and well lit. The colors were vibrant, the fabrics rich.

Positives: The valet parking staff was helpful and nothing short of amazing!

Negatives: No free internet in the room.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 26 Jan 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

This was a fun hotel to stay in. Not your usual &quot;run of the mill&quot; decor. The staff was VERY helpful and friendly.

Positives: The staff was excellent.

Negatives: The parking charge!

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 20 Jan 2010 rated 3 out of 10.

The hotel charged us $43 to park our car overnight and didn't disclose the cost until the next morning. Our room was near a stairwell where inconsiderate employees were slamming doors all night. The room was so small my partner and I were having to shimmy around each other as we walked around, same with the bathroom, we couldn't both fit in the bathroom at the same time. The hotel put a huge hold on my bank account without notifying me they were doing so, nor asking if I wanted the charges to be held on a different card than I paid with making some transactions not go through and ended up costing me quite a few overdrafts. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Positives: Rooms were nicely decorated.

Negatives: Very small room, noisy.

This is a fun place to stay in Seattle. It has a great location, a very warm and friendly atmosphere and a boutique hotel decor. Guests were mingling happily at the happy hour and coffee gatherings. Our room was delightful with a huge jacuzzi tub and a very comfortable bed. The adjacent restaurant had a wonderful happy hour menu and was lively to boot. We would definitely return.

Positives: Friendly staff, great room for a great price.

Negatives: No view at all from room.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 19 Jan 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

What a treat to have wine tasting, a great happy hour, and a nice lounge. It was also within walking distance of everything we wanted.

Positives: Great location. Nice lobby and food.

Negatives: The beds were a little hard.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 29 Dec 2009 rated 10 out of 10.

Positives: Unique decoration and hospitality.

Negatives: Restaurant not open for breakfast.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 21 Oct 2009 rated 7 out of 10.

It was a smaller boutique style hotel, nice service and good location.

Positives: Location, friendly staff, evening reception (but missed it).

Negatives: The beds were really uncomfortable and the $40.00 parking charge was too high.
