This is a well maintained, older and very attractive first class property. Our "city view" room was large and comfortable with an attractive fireplace. Complaints by some about noise from the railroad on Alaska Way are overblown in my opinion, but the hotel does thoughtfully provide earplugs for those sensitive to it.

Positives: Nice room, great location, attractive property overall.

Negatives: Parking is expensive.

I was really disappointed with this hotel. They do not have an AC. No screens on windows so flies come into the room. Old wooden structure smell that is very annoying. Our room did not have any views of the water, instead they gave us a room overlooking the railroad track that operates around the clock and is very noisy. The chimney in the room does not work.

Positives: Location, view from the lobby, and comfortable beds.

Negatives: Strong smell of an old building, no air-condition, no free WiFi in lobby, near railroad track, bad drainage in shower, and no screens on windows.

The hotel was in a good location and close to the activities that we were in Seattle for. I was surprised that this hotel was given such a high star rating. The uniforms of the staff were too casual, the decor of the hotel was ridiculous. I felt like I was in a bad theme park. When checking in the front desk clerk was slow and not overly friendly. The rooms decor was ridiculous and the fireplace was on even in the summer. Plaid, Teddy bears and fake bark wallpaper is not what I consider classy or deserves a high star rating or the price that we paid for the room. The shower in the bathroom was really the best part of stay. In feel like the beautiful location of the hotel is wasted with the actual hotel itself and that we did not get true value for the money spent.

Positives: The shower was amazing.

Negatives: The decor and the front desk clerk when checking in.

I assume just like many other hotels, guests may have to be on their own when it comes to parking. There's no other choice, but valet or to park on the street. The hotel was different, had a home away from home feel. I liked the cabin and ski decor. Staff was friendly. I liked the modern style bathroom.

Positives: Different atmosphere, ski-lodge look was refreshing.

Negatives: The sound of the train was too loud, every time the train would cross, it was not pleasant.

Despite remodeling, this hotel is outdated. The room was tiny, hot, and stuffy and the hotel was loud and crowded.

Positives: Convenient location.

Negatives: Hot, stuffy, old, loud and crowded.

The hotel was nice and clean and the staff were friendly. Apparently there was baseball tournament going on in town and there were a lot of families with children around, however outside of the lobby area, we did not hear them at all the whole weekend except for the last day; when a lady called for her children at 8 a.m. We usually ask for a room away from the elevator when we travel so that helps getting quieter experience. One thing we really enjoyed was our room window faced the back of the hotel, which is wooded/field area. We got to see 4 deer come out in the field and eat and play. That was a nice treat. We enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay there again.

Positives: The interior decorations of this hotel were fabulous; very lodge-y, yet trendy, and very comfortable.

Negatives: Unless you are traveling with a car, the location of the hotel was less than convenient.

Good hotel in good location (except for nearby trains). Valet and bell-hop service excellent. Shuttle bus available to local attractions. Rooms nicely decorated and comfortable. Bathroom not suited for young family - shower only. Some maintenance needed in room facilities (phone defective and thermostat not working). Excellent value for Priceline rates.

Positives: The decor throughout was lodge-cozy. We liked the on-site restaurant - it had a good menu.

Negatives: Thermostat in room did not work. Request for our 2 rooms to be close by and away from trains not fulfilled. Received no service in lounge.

Edgewater is at the edge of the water and edge of the popular areas in Seattle. Whether you're walking to other piers, Pikes Place or downtown to shop, expect to walk a good distance. Otherwise the rooms are modern yet a tad small, the restaurant has an amazing breakfast (try the Marion berry pancakes) and we were pleased with our stay (but we are used to walking at least several miles a day when traveling).

Positives: Beautiful location directly on the water, and excellent breakfast.

Negatives: Room was rather small, hallways are poorly lit with aging carpet and smell.

Overall, the hotel was very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was excellent for downtown shopping, within walking distance to everything. We had a view of the parking lot, and the trains were quite loud. We were there for shopping, so this was not too bad, but if i had gone for a romantic get-away, this would have been disappointing. Over all, very good hotel.

Positives: Great location, excellent staff. Room was comfortable. Food was very good.

Negatives: Parking lot view. If I had paid full price, I would not be happy with this at all. OK for this deal.

Very beautiful hotel on water edge. I had a great view from my room. Staff was excellent.

Positives: Wonderful staff, excellent ocean view.

Negatives: Parking is $35 per day, but I was able to park on the street, and just feed the meter in the morning

We love the setting of the hotel. Location is excellent and with courtesy shuttle to downtown area. Staffs provide excellent service which we enjoyed most. They are warm and accommodating with our almost 2 yr old toddler as well. It was well worth the extra money to upgrade yourself with at least a partial water view. With the money you saved from Priceline, you are definitely getting your bucks worth if you do upgrade. We will definitely be back.

Positives: Staff with warm and excellent service. Able to upgrade us to a better room with a fee.

Negatives: Parking was pricey, but we were able to find on street parking. Internet is not free.

I would not recommend this hotel. I was very unhappy with my purchase. It was not a 4 star hotel.

Positives: Good location.

Negatives: Run down, not clean, unfriendly staff.

Nice hotel with water view (if you are given a water view room, we weren't, actually we had a poor room placement, ground floor facing parking lot). The views from the lobby were gorgeous and very comfortable to sit and relax in. The beds were small (doubles not queens) and hard and not very comfortable.

Positives: The location of the hotel on the water and the views could not have been nicer, but it would have been nice to get a water view.

Negatives: Beds were very small and not very comfortable. Our room was ground floor and faced directly onto the parking circle so people were coming and going.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 28 Mar 2011 rated 4 out of 10.

I would not pay the "posted website" rate for this hotel, way overpriced.

Positives: The view.

Negatives: Small rooms for the price. Star rating seemed way too high. Small lobby and public spaces.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 21 Jan 2011 rated 8 out of 10.

Hotel only offers valet parking and it's $35 day, so I suggest to others getting to Seattle by car or have a rental car to stay outside of the downtown Seattle area.

Positives: Many celebrities stayed there in the past.

Negatives: The air conditioner and passing train were noisy.

The Edgewater is a great Seattle Hotel overall. With sweeping sound and mountain views. The hotel is pet friendly with a few designated rooms for this. It has a great bar and restaurant with valet parking. A beautiful lobby area and homey gas fireplace in every room.

Positives: Nice room, water view on one side, city on another. Bathrooms was nice, staff was very nice.

Negatives: Cleaning service works too early and makes too much noise. AC was too loud.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 22 Nov 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

Landmark hotel in the City. You can fish from a waterfront room, very cool space, nice lounge, rustic feel to the building. Very happy with my stay.

Positives: Nice accommodations, enjoy being by the water, great view of the city.

Negatives: Valet parking is charged $40.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 03 Nov 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

The lobby and rooms are luxury ski lodge style. While it is a modern hotel, the furnishings are wood and nature-themed. With a City View room on the 3rd floor, we had a great view of the Space Needle just outside our window.

Positives: Beautiful upgraded modern bathroom with stone shower.

Negatives: Remote control doesn't turn on or off the TV? minor maintenance issue was very annoying.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 03 Nov 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

I thought the hotel was great with the exception of the restaurant. The room was very cozy and comfy. The view was incredible and the fireplace in the rooms made the stay even more enjoyable. The restaurant was clean, nice and great staff but at 35.00 per adult for the brunch was overpriced, the food was picked over and not a whole lot of options. I would recommend this hotel, but go elsewhere for dining.

Positives: The decore of the hotel.

Negatives: Over priced brunch with very little to chose from.

There are only 2 types of rooms, those that face the water, and "City Rooms" that face the parking lot and the train tracks across the street. The unfortunate thing is that the train runs all night, and is extremely loud. Multiple times throughout the evening I commented to my partner that we could hear the train quite clearly in our room, even with the window shut. Thankfully neither of us is a terribly light sleeper and we managed to get some rest.

Positives: I really enjoyed dinner in their restaurant.

Negatives: The noise from the train accross the parking lot

The hotel was very nice. The room we had was with a great view of the ocean and the city. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The only bad experience we had was the restaurant: We were seated promptly, someone came by and filled our water glasses and set up the table (said nothing to us). Then we sat for a long while (a good 20+ minutes and no one came to take our order or even talk to us). Then a waiter came over to the newly arrived (been there 2 minutes) table across from us and started serving them. Hence, we left the restaurant.

Positives: Loved the view, and the room was beautiful!

Negatives: The restaurant.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 13 Jun 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

We enjoyed the hotel and the atmosphere. The lounge areas were quiet and comfortable. The restaurant food and service was very good. The valet parking was rather expensive.

Positives: Waterfront location and an easy walk to some attractions.

Negatives: The furnishings and interior are showing their age.

The Edgewater Hotel is a beatuiful, and very romantic setting.

Positives: Location, view, staff, and overall the lobby and room was amazing.

Negatives: Nothing!

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 07 Jun 2010 rated 5 out of 10.

I expected a room that was more spacious and updated. The bathroom was nicely updated although the toilet ran sporadically throughout the night and the sink drained very poorly. Additionally the fan switch didn't work properly. The location itself was beautiful, convenient and easily accessible.

Positives: The shower was great.

Negatives: The room size was very small and it felt old.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 06 Jun 2010 rated 4 out of 10.

Right on the railroad tracks, very noisy, did not get any sleep, twin beds instead of a queen was very disappointing and they would not move us; the food was not great in the restaurant.

Positives: Well located, clean, attractive, good beds.

Negatives: Very noisy, requested queen and got two beds instead, very noisy by the railway.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 25 May 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

This hotel has seen better days. Outstanding lobby views and great public facilities, but not on the same level as the Seattle Westin or Sheraton hotels. Room was small, poorly lit and not a standard 4-star hotel room.

Positives: Lobby view.

Negatives: Well past it's prime.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 17 May 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

The Edgewater is a great establishment right on the Puget Sound piers. They are within walking distance of the new sculpture garden. They have beautiful views but even if you have a city-view room, you can enjoy the view with ceiling to floor windows in the lobby.

Positives: Beautiful lobby with view of the sound, nice staff, great location.

Negatives: Not that kid friendly - no bathtub, no kids allowed in lounge with drinking

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 16 May 2010 rated 2 out of 10.

The Edgewater is an experience. It has a weird decor that blends metal and country cabin. Excellent customer service at front desk and room service.

Positives: Beautiful restaurant and lobby area. Cool fireplace outside

Negatives: Bedbugs. Sewer-like smell in hallway

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 12 May 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

Great views
from the water side of the hotel. The city side left a little to be desired. Definitely spring for the water side.

Positives: Great location on the water front in Seattle.

Negatives: Kitchy - lodge style - old.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 10 May 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

The staff was over the top friendly and helpful, the location was stellar, the over-all experience a 10. I highly recommend. Fireplace was great to wake up with and to have fresh sea air coming through our open window made the trip even more memorable.

Positives: Great location on the the water; not over the water!

Negatives: Couldn't find anything to not like.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 30 Apr 2010 rated 1 out of 10.

It deserves a 2.5 star at best. It doesn't deserve to be lumped into the likes of the Westin, Sheraton, Grand Hyatt & etc. It is dated, worn & the location is disappointing. Nothing good to say about it.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: Everything.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 27 Apr 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

We checked in and requested a quiet room. The only rooms they had were in rear by parking/train. They offered us a $25 upgrade to a water view room. We jumped and took it. The room was charming with a gas fireplace and balcony on the water. Breakfast was good (but pricey). Felt very relaxed. Loved it!

Positives: Views of water.

Negatives: Noise from hallways heard in room. Expensive restaurant.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 24 Apr 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

Edgewater is a great property right on Elliot Bay. Excellent decision, our balcony was right on the water and it was quiet and peaceful. Room had a fireplace in the corner with two chairs and a cute stuffed bear as a foot rest. Bed was big and comfortable. It is a hike to get to downtown, so if you are in Seattle to shop you might want to stay in a hotel more centrally located.
Positives: Fireplace in the room.

Negatives: Had to upgrade.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 18 Apr 2010 rated 6 out of 10.

The room was ice cold when we arrived. It said you had to turn on the fireplace to warm it up, it took a long time. There was no bathtub to warm up in. And I was disappointed to find out there was no pool.

Positives: Location was OK.

Negatives: No pool, rooms were small and cold. No bathtub.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 10 Apr 2010 rated 5 out of 10.

Our room was so tiny it was difficult for two people to move about. The bed is not a full queen. No satisfactory place to have both suitcases open, no desk or table, tiny, and kind of beat up.

Positives: The hotel has a shuttle to downtown locations on the top of the hour each hour until 9 PM.

Negatives: This hotel needs to be refurbished. Parking is an additional $33.00.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 08 Apr 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

The Edgewater Hotel was beautiful, although the room was a bit small. The one thing I found absurd was the parking, as it was valet and was $ 33 dollars a night. Rather then pay the price, we parked across the street for $ 18.00 a night. Overall, nice hotel, perfect for our trip.
Positives: Convenient and clean.

Negatives: Expensive parking.
