This was a beautiful, wonderful vacation. The Jefferson was the icing on the cake. I stayed there for a very special gift for myself for my 60th birthday. The stay at the Jefferson made the occasion even more special. I want to buy some of those wonderful pillows.
Positives: The bed was the most comfortable I had ever slept in. Just like falling into a marshmallow.
Negatives: No coffee pot in room and no air flow in bathroom.

I would stay there again-- very good overall. A great trip.
Positives: Great ambiance, great location & great history.
Negatives: The staff over promised a bit on some accommodations for our children that did not materialize.

This is a great romantic place for any who want to get away with their significant other. Great history for the buffs who like Thomas Jefferson and the scenery of Richmond.
Positives: A great historic hotel and a must stay for all travelers.
Negatives: Everything was great.

Beautiful hotel, very comfortable rooms. Dining rooms were wonderful, and everyone on the staff was particularly friendly and helpful. They always remembered your name, and spoke to you every time they say you. The shuttle to Downtown was very helpful. Hope to stay there again.
Positives: Christmas decorations, friendliness of staff.
Negatives: No vending machines, gift shop closed at 4 p.m.

This hotel is rated as the "only 5 star" within the region. I have no idea what makes it a 5 star. Yes, it's grand & historic; however, the rooms are nothing special, food was awful, & they were understaffed. Pretty place to stop in & see or have tea; however, I would never stay there again. The Omni is a 4 star, nicer, & half the price.
Positives: Lobby & mezzanine are beautiful.
Negatives: Food & food service was not good.

Clearly the best hotel in Richmond with good service and the small touches that make a difference.
Positives: The staff was very helpful they opened the gift shop for me when closed and then drove me to drug store to get what I needed.
Negatives: No fans in the bathroom so it would steam up a lot from the shower and didn't dissipate afterwards.

This is an absolutely beautiful, historic hotel with a very professional and accommodating staff. We have stayed at the Jefferson Hotel many times and are never disappointed in it. As a matter of fact, we try to get to Richmond for a couple a days every year just to enjoy the museums and the Jefferson Hotel.
Positives: It's beautiful, wonderful restaurant, extremely professional staff.
Negatives: The windows in our room were a bit high to the sill.

Upon entering the main lobby you are immediately greeted with history and charm of a grand hotel. The staff was wonderful in meeting your every need. Although there is wonderful history and rich heritage, the room itself could use some overhaul to make it a bit more modern. The bed was particular uncomfortable and the pillows were equally the same.
Positives: Excellent historical hotel. Excellent and excellent food.
Negatives: Room was a poor reflection of the common area. Bed was not comfortable at all; wake up with aches and pain.

Nothing can prepare you for the beauty and elegance of the hotel. The hotel staff matched the surroundings perfectly with their warmth, friendliness and accommodating style. You suspect when you stay at an older hotel that the age may show through a little with the sounds, the water or the air. Not at The Jefferson. It was a fantastic experience and I look forward to staying there again. Don't miss the history center inside the hotel. It was very fascinating.
Positives: I couldn't pick just one thing. I loved everything. I would have to say that the staff was my favorite part. Excellent!
Negatives: There isn't anything that I disliked.

Superb welcome, good size room. Additional towels provided as soon as requested, bellhop cleaned small spill evident on arrival without being asked. Breakfast and dinner were of a high standard with impeccable service. The hotel is five star standard and the staff help the hotel to maintain that standard.
Positives: The staff are well trained and went out of their way to help.
Negatives: Location is not the best but transport provided by hotel to downtown area.

If your in Richmond, spring for the Jefferson. You'll never forget it. Have dinner at Lamaire in the hotel. Be sure to take the complimentary Town car service to the state capital and be humbled by Thomas Jefferson's masterpiece.
Positives: The service, spaces are beautiful, Lamaire restaurant is wonderful.
Negatives: It's in an old neighborhood, but what can you do? It's over a hundred years old.

I thought it was a grand, old hotel, and the people working at all levels were helpful and genuinely nice. What can way they upgraded our room when we asked. A great experience. I wished we had been able to eat in the restaurant- it looked beautiful, and was designated many stars.
Positives: The front desk and concierge were great, they upgrade us with smiles.
Negatives: They need to upgrade the TV¿s in the rooms.

Beautiful hotel! Interior and everything inside and out are amazing. However, the rooms are so small - I would rather stay in the Marriott, for a lot less money. Again, the rooms are about half the size of a 3 star hotel, at best. But very nice. The bar is also nice, and I was surprised that a pint of Guinness could be hard for $5.50.
Positives: Beautiful.
Negatives: Rooms are tiny.

It's a beautiful old luxury hotel with excellent service and restaurants. The overall ambience is one of comfortable elegance.
Positives: The service was excellent.
Negatives: The room we had was a little small - because of modern utilities minibus, TV).

from the moment I arrived at The Jefferson I was treated like a queen! It is an absolutely beautiful historical landmark. The room was gorgeous and the common areas were striking. I can't wait to visit again.
Positives: The staff was amazingly attentive!
Negatives: I loved everything about my stay.

The hotel met my expectations with two exceptions. My room was right next to an elevator door and it was very loud in the hallway outside my room at 6 am. When I brought it to their attention they did not seem too concerned or apologetic. Was disappointing I will be looking for my card credit in the near future. I felt the hotel could have been more apologetic to their mistake.
Positives: Very ornate and majestic.
Negatives: Hotel charged my credit card an additional time for my stay.

Although this hotel is beautifully kept, the rooms were laid out well and extremely comfortable, it was the intangibles that made the stay suspect. Staff was not friendly when told of security problem in room, nor were they happy when I inquired how room service could be out of items on their menu.
Positives: It was truly beautiful, historic, and very comfortable.
Negatives: Staff was not friendly, problems with security in room, hotel running out of food!!!
