The High Street Inn is a bed & breakfast located in Petersburg.
This beautiful Queen Anne Mansion, circa 1891, was built by Mr. J.A. Gill, an influential merchant. The Mansion is built of a natural fired brick which is no longer available. There are nine fireplaces all individually decorated with ceramic tiles as is the front porch. The Mansion has been utilized as a residence, a funeral home, and a Veterans of Foreign War outpost. It has been operated as a Bed & Breakfast since the late 1980's. The inn is located in Old Towne and within a short walking distance from antique shops, restaurants, theatre, museums, the Appomattox River, Petersburg rail system and the Farmers Market (open spring and summer).

BollingBrook: King Victorian mahogany tester with half canopy. Fireplace, sitting area, private balcony and bathroom, victorian claw foot tub and accesories.
Sycamore Suite: Victorian style French white tester half canopy king. Fireplace with a large sitting room/bathroom, victorian claw foor tub and accesories. (Katharine Hepburn lodged here.)
Appomattox: Hand carved French mahogany queen, sitting area, Large private bathroom, victorian claw foot tub.
Mahone Chamberlin: King 4 poster, fireplace, private bath (or shared with Blandford Room) with claw foot tub (off suite).Bath robes are provided for your convenience.
The Blandford Room: Very elegant room with four poster queen, sitting area, ornamental fireplace. Bath not on suite (private or shared with the Mahone Chamberlin).
Washington Suite: Our long term accommodation is suitable for families and traveling professionals. Suite consists of library/ living room, large bedroom with queen size Four Poster Rice bed and Antique Inlaid full size bed, private bathroom, private entrance, refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine. Laundry facilities are available.

The Inn is in close proximity to major civil war sites and parks: Crater Road Battlefield Park and Pamplin Park.
From I-95S, take Petersburg exit 52- "Washington/Wythe St." or exit 50D from I-95N. Stay on Washington St. and go west towards the Visitors Center. At the fifth traffic light (Market Street)
turn right and go to the second light (High Street). Turn left and proceed about a block and a half. The Inn will be on your right. Off-street parking is available through the iron gates.
