Very good location near to Metro & good ambience to lobby

Appears to be 50s apartment house converted to suite hotel; e.g. black and white tiles. Generally clean and quiet; minimal perks. $9/day parking fee is a affront. So was lack of coffee cups in room.
Positives: Large room size; and
Negatives: No cups for coffee maker; $9 parking fee;

Location is good. Everything else is bad. This place is maintained by lazy people. Paint jobs show runs and splashes all over the place. Stains in strange places. Old carpet. Outlets that won't hold a plug. Moldy refrigerators. Microwave ovens with mechanical timers. You have to ask for dishes and silverware to be delivered to your room and wait for over an hour to get them (while your food gets cold).
Positives: Location
Negatives: Everything else.

Spacious for the money. The shuttles to the Rosslyn Metro station were super handy. If only they also went to 33rd & M in Georgetown since G-town doesn't have a metro stop. But the walk isn't bad and there are city buses at the metro.
Positives: The Shuttle was great for the times that I needed it.
Negatives: No convenient power outlets in the bedroom area.

It was a nice place to stay, and I would stay there again when in DC.
Positives: The old style and great location.
Negatives: The maid didn't understand English and that created a problem.

This hotel gives you so much more than the price would imply. From the convenient location, to the friendly staff, to the beautiful rooms, you will feel like you should be spending twice as much.
Positives: I loved the kitchen and the shuttle to the metro.
Negatives: I would have liked it if the shuttle ran all day instead of just peak times.

This was a great place to stay! Sort of a hike from the Metro, if you don't have a car, but they do have shuttle in morning and evening rush hour. Great value for the price - spacious, clean, and nice decor.
Positives: Spacious
Negatives: Wish, shuttle went to Rosslyn Metro station at other times besides rush hours.

Clean friendly hotel with in a great location to Downtown Washington.
Positives: Convenient location and nice and clean.
Negatives: Garbage disposal did not work so kitchen sink was slow to drain.

Hotel in close proximity to metro. My daughter said the bed was very comfortable and the room had a nice view. Furniture was very dated and bathroom was very small. Room needed to be seriously upgraded. Disappointed that they did not offer continental breakfast. Hotel staff was very friendly. Would not tell them that we were bringing small children next time. It was nice to be able to cook simple meals for the kids, which was convenient.
Positives: Had a kitchenette with stove/oven, fridge, microwave, and dishes!
Negatives: Had to pay for parking. No restaurant or room service, no continental breakfast.

My group was there for the 2009 inauguration. The room was extra large. The staff was more than accommodating. They responded quickly to every request we had and made our special event even more unforgettable! We highly recommend Virginian Suites and plan to visit again very soon.
Positives: I liked how the staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating
Negatives: The heat system was a little to warm but we could open the windows.

We were pleased with the hotel although it was a little, difficult to find. The staff was very pleasant. The suite was large, well maintained and very clean. On the negative side the room was very warm and there wasn't any way to control the temprature except to run the air conditioners which were quite load. Also at the time of check out they tried to charge us $7.00 a day for parking. When we complained about that charge they dropped it.
Positives: We liked the fact that the room was a suite with multiple room. It was very well maintained and very clean.
Negatives: The room was very warm with no way to control the temprature.

Very clean, great services provided by housekeepers, but when I needed something, management seemed to ignore. Have to come back there soon, hope they have improved.
Positives: Very clean inside, kitchen.
Negatives: Many things are old already.

We were in town for a funeral at Arlington. The location was perfect for easy access to Arlington and Georgetown. I would highly recommend this property for business or tourist travel. It was very nice to have the large closet area and the kitchen.
Positives: The furnishings were comfortable and very nice looking.
Negatives: The bathroom fixtures were a bit dated.

We were attending a funeral at Arlington, so this was very convenient. I thought it was very comfortable, and it was nice to be able to make our own coffee in the morning. Would stay here again if I need to be in the area.
Positives: Location, size of rooms, kitchen with good appliances.
Negatives: The carpets were stained although the rest of the suite was very clean.

The hotel is located less than a 10 minute walk from the Roslyn Metro station. It's a very quick trip by Metro to anywhere in the DC area. We were there during a heat wave so we used the pool every afternoon. What was nice was the pool had a life guard so I could relax a bit and read a book while the kids played in the water. The room was clean and had a full kitchen. Packages of coffee and creamer were provided as well as a coffee pot. The staff was very helpful and they even gave me discount coupons to a near by delivery pizza place. I would stay here again in a minute. In fact, I will, next year when I travel to DC again.
Positives: Very close to the Metro. Less than a 10 minute walk.
Negatives: There really was not anything I didn't like.

Negatives: Staff was not friendly and did not care about my problems.

The Virginian, overall, was a mediocre hotel for my husband and me. We requested the adjoining rooms. The rooms were not adjoining and were on opposite ends. One room was a suite and our room was more motel type, but spacious. The continental breakfast cost $12.00, which was overpriced. The parking was $7.00 a day in their parking lot, which should have been included in the room. We did enjoy receiving the paper each morning and having a kitchen for coffee.
Positives: Spacious room, very accommodating, very clean.
Negatives: Hole in bathroom wall, no place for toiletries, overprized continental breakfast, parking charge not mentioned, driveway entry not clearly marked.

I was quite disappointed in the service at this hotel. I complained about a problem with the television and the gas stove and had to complain a second time 2 days later because my complaint was never addressed. My room was on a floor with a group of students on a class trip and was disturbed by voices in the hall and slamming doors until quite late at night. There was no longer a doorman or bellman to help me manage my bags. I specifically choose this hotel because of the cooking facilities in the suites to avoid going out alone at night only to find that the stove was inoperable. I was quite disappointed.
Positives: It was convenient to the city without being in the District of Columbia.
Negatives: I specifically choose this place because of the kitchen facilities but the stove leaked gas and so was turned off.

Would recommend hotel to business travelers, leisure visitors and families. Layout and space were ample. Mattress was comfortable, with pillow top. It was a pleasure to receive complimentary copy of Washington Post at the door each morning. Pleasant view and surroundings and atmosphere of quiet.
Positives: Lobby very attractive; room was out, with well-equipped kitchen.
Negatives: Directions were not very helpful in getting to the hotel from Georgetown over circuitous routes.

Very convenient to Washington DC without actually being in the city. Appeared to be a very safe place to roam around by foot to visit the various restaurants in the area.
Positives: Website directions were excellent to help locate the facility.
Negatives: Had to pay to park and the lack of an onsite restaurant.

Good location for somebody sightseeing Washington DC, or in business trip to Northern Virginia hotel needs some serious renovations (carpets, paint, and bathroom). This is an apartment building that has been converted into a hotel. Thus, each hotel room is actually a 1 bedroom apartment with full kitchen.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: Hotel needs renovations.
