The hotel itself was adequate, without being extravagant, so you're not paying for meaningless amenities. The room was a bit small for 4 people, and the only leisure seating was the standard institutional round table with 2 hard chairs. That said, the hotel staff were simply great. From the front desk, to the shuttle driver, to the room service crew, everyone was friendly, courteous, professional, and helpful. They gave us directions to local sites, and gave us travel tips to ensure we weren't stuck in traffic.
Positives: All the staff were stellar; close to the metro.
Negatives: Bathrooms had undergone sloppy refitting.

The hotel staff was very nice, but the room was very small and outdated. The hotel did not have wireless Internet access and there was a grease type smell through out the whole place that made everything seem dirty. We did use the hotel shuttle to the subway, which was very easy and helpful.
Positives: Location to the subway and the convenience of the shuttle service.
Negatives: The room was very tiny and it was very outdated.

Conveniently located to 395 and 495, the location and economical price are the top reasons to choose this hotel. The bathroom amenities are scare, but appropriate for the star level. I appreciated the complimentary breakfast. Management made an honest effort to offer more than just high fat carbs. I would recommend hotel for the cost sensitive business traveler.
Positives: I liked the location, breakfast room, and price.
Negatives: Standard room does not have refrigerator, coffeemaker cord to short to reach outlet in bathroom, limited tv stations.

This was a great hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and big. We were there almost a full week and hated to leave. We made friends with the staff. Staff would answer all your questions.
Positives: The friendly staff.
Negatives: The dining area was way too small.

Mattress was worn and sagged near nightstand. Shower had black mold in several areas. Toenail clipping alongside nightstand from previous occupant. Gross.
Positives: Free internet & lg. breakfast room.
Negatives: Unfriendly evening staff (male) & dirty room.

Overall it was fine. Both elevators need to be working thought because there was usually a long wait to get downstairs since we were on the 9th floor.
Positives: There were lots of pillows on the beds.
Negatives: Ice machine on couple floors broken.

This hotel is clean and friendly however it is need of an upgrade in decor, furniture, restaurant. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Shuttle service to metro station is definitely a plus.
Positives: Clean and friendly.
Negatives: Complimentary breakfast few choices, restaurant only had sandwiches and beer, soda.

Room was OK, but a little musty. Metro station was not within walking distance but shuttle was very fast and friendly. Breakfast was ok but generally overrun with kids. Elevator is slow.
Positives: Shuttle service was fast and responsive.
Negatives: Room had a musty smell.

This hotel has had a recent make-over and the rooms were clean and attractive. The complimentary breakfast was good and the dining room well attended.
Positives: Newly remolded, new furnishings and carpet. The hotel was very clean.
Negatives: Difficult to find entrance road.

One of the most uncomfortable hotel experiences of my life. Were it not for gorgeous lifeguard at the pool, I'd be suing for pain and suffering endured.
Positives: Hotel lifeguard at pool. Kind of made whole thing bearable.
Negatives: Air conditioner sounded like a struggling turbine engine.

The staff was great and very friendly. The location is convenient to Old Town Alexandria and Van Dorn Metro stop. The weight room, pool, and some ice and vending machines were not working. While I was there, bus after bus of school kids came and went which isn't bad unless you are looking for peace and quite.
<BR/>
Positives: The staff was great and helpful.
Negatives: The pool, exercise room, and various ice/vending machines were out of service.

Negatives: Far from DC.

Hotel was in a great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was some construction going on in the lobby, but they were so quiet and only worked mid-day not loud or dusty or anything. The room makes up for the 3 seconds of construction you see walking in the door.

Positives: Staff was so friendly. Room was clean and very nice for the price.
Negatives: They were doing construction in the lobby no big deal though.

This was the worst Comfort Inn we ever stayed in.. We spent 3 days there and our kids could not swim the whole time because they said there lifeguard went home. When we made reservations the main thing we looked for was pool. SO our kids spent time that we were not in Washington sitting in room very bored. Staff refused to give us roll away bed that we were told wopuld be there when we arrived .. Had to call the main branch which took hours to remedy the situation. We were told we would not be charged for it.. But the person who was at the desk charged us anyway.. We would not recommend this hotel or ever stay there again.. The only bright spot to this hotel was the restuarant and the drivers who took us to the metro...
Positives: The hotel drivers were friendly and very good drivers..
Negatives: Staff not helpful and things we requested not available.

It was clean but not fancy. Very dated furniture (decorated in the early 90s and oddly as if I were in Florida) and rooms were very small - the smallest I've seen and I've stayed in NYC. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the shuttle drivers were very pleasant. I can't say it was the best hotel I've stayed at therefore, I did give it a mediocre rating but for the time I was in the room, it was fine. Wouldn't want to be there for more than 3 nights or take my family there for a vacation stay.
Positives: It was convenient to the metro station.
Negatives: Rooms very small and hotel was dated.

The hotel overbooked the room that we had called and requested over a month in advance. We paid extra for a refrigerator that was not made record of. There were teenagers running all over the hotel, screaming and jumping up and down. The whirlpool tubs were not properly kept up and cleaned. When we turned it on for our two little kids all sorts of debris flew out of the jets. The only pool was outside. The wallpaper was coming off of the wall. One side of the room electricity did not work. One of the lamps didn't even have a bulb in it. We have stayed at plenty of Comfort Inns before and never expected such deplorable conditions.
Positives: The staff seemed friendly.
Negatives: It was not cleaned properly. They gave my requested room away. It was located in a high traffic area, hard to get in and out of the hotel.

In D.C. for retirement of family member from the Army. This hotel only 2 miles from their house, so it was chosen primarily on it's location. Stayed 4 nights. Did not use any facilities except the breakfast bar once. Tried one other time, but it was filled with students and there was no seating. Basically clean. Furniture adequate, but king room was very small with no storage area for luggage. Small table and chairs but no desk. Older TV.
Positives: Easily accessible location near Metro.
Negatives: Limited breakfast choices. That area poorly arranged.

Although the rooms need updating they were clean. We had a room on the top floor and although the hotel seemed busy we did not have any neighbors next to us which kept our evenings peaceful.
Positives: Quiet.
Negatives: Could use some refurbishing of the rooms, beds/pillows need to be replaced.

This could be a good place to stay if the owner would invest in remodeling it. It is an older facility.
Positives: The evening desk clerk, she was very friendly.
Negatives: The hotel had ants in the bathroom, I reported it, however, they failed to take care of the situation.

This hotel is nothing extravagent but it is a clean place to sleep and is close to I-95/I-495 and to downtown DC. The price is decent for the location.
Positives: Location was close to major interstates and Old Towne Alexandria.
Negatives: Our room was not ready until 2:30. We just drove 12 hours and had to get a smoking room.

For us the location was just minutes from family residences, so very convenient. Easy access to I-95. Staff very friendly, alert and attentive. Great place to stay in the area.
Positives: Friendly staff eager to help.
Negatives: Vending/ice not on every floor.

This was a nice place to come back and relax after spending the day walking around Washington. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a continental breakfast made things nice. Also, other guests all seemed happy and were friendly. I would say this is a nice place to stay.
Positives: Convenient location.
Negatives: End time on breakfast was early.

Overall good value.
Positives: The outdoor pool space was nice to have with young children.
Negatives: Somewhat difficult to find.

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Comfort Inn, after reading some reviews. I wasn't really sure that I was going to want to stay there. The night desk clerk was very friendly and helpful when I checked in, the room was great. king bed, 2 arm chairs with foot stools, table with 2 chairs, TV stand and still plenty of room and the bathroom was also very large. We had a refrigerator which was nice since we were staying four nights. The shuttle to the Metro station was really nice, the driver was on call all day and would be there within 10 minutes of calling to be picked up. I would stay there again when visiting the DC area. The free parking was also a big plus since some hotels charge up to $35 extra a day to park.
Positives: Room was large, friendly staff, clean.
Negatives: Needs better ventilation in bathroom, no fans and the steam buildup was bad, also the water pressure wasn't very good.
