The worst part of this hotel is that check-in took almost an hour. I reserved a double with a fridge and a microwave, and the clerk told me that they don't have rooms like that. At all. After debating back and forth, I called the Priceline customer service number. I was on the phone with them for another 30 minutes, mostly waiting, and then magically the clerk discovered that they do in fact have rooms with a fridge and a microwave. He didn't apologize or anything and he was actually quite rude. After the check-in fiasco, though, everything was okay. It's a cheap place to stay if you're in DC. There are no frills or extras but the air conditioner worked nicely and the rooms were fairly clean.
Positives: Cheap, close to the Metro.
Negatives: Hotel staff was unhelpful, check-in took almost an hour.

Good location in walking distant to metro, safe place located on the main street, hotel staff friendly, room is clean no bad bug, small town with a lot of history, easy to go to downtown of DC by metro, close to airport.<BR/>I will stay this hotel if i will go to DC in future.
Positives: Clean, friendly, and reasonable.
Negatives: Not really.

The hotel is straight out of the 70"'s but was very clean, and 20 minute train ride to DC. The neighborhood is awesome.
Positives: very convenient to get to DC.
Negatives: Needs update.

The room was as expected. The WiFi Internet was free and fast. The bath room light also turned on the very noisy fan. The hotel is very old but the room was clean. Others had complained about bed bugs, but we were unable to find any. Over all it was worth the low price we paid for the room. The hotel manager was very nice.
Positives: Starbucks was across the street.
Negatives: Small pillows. No Desk for computer. In the flight path of Washington National.

Quaint hotel in what seemed to be a good area. The room was clean and spacious. Toilet area was small, but vanity area was separate with TWO sinks and large mirror - very helpful. No closet, only a small hanging area. Overall very happy with the room.
Positives: The room was spacious and comfortable.
Negatives: No elevator.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. Always in a good mood and ready to help. The room was old but really clean, smelled nice, and had plenty of towels. The bed was comfy and housekeeping was respectful of the "Do not disturb" sign. The room temperature was adequate and there were no bugs any where. The building was old and not to appealing, but for just sleeping and changing clothes it was super comfy. The staff even had a wine opener available upon request. I can not complaint about this place is a real diamond in the rough. I had heard the good, the bad, and the ugly about this hotel, but I’ve experienced the good and I’m sticking to it.
Positives: The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even remembered my name. Any time I needed something (towels, iron, etc.) it was brought to the room fast.
Negatives: There was no microwave in the room.

This hotel was the dirtiest I have ever been in. I would never recommend this place.
Positives: The manager was friendly.
Negatives: Manager said there was nothing they could do about the dirty room.

Only one of the amenities frees parking. Avg. Nightly rate was more.
Positives: Heater worked well.
Negatives: Long time for water to heat up, had broken TV cabinet, patch work dry wall.

Great price - but you get what you pay for!
Positives: It was very cheap - I saved a lot of money.
Negatives: It was barely tolerable in terms of cleanliness and condition.

For the price, I have stayed in much nicer hotels. Poor A/C, ratty carpets, cracked bathroom tiles, bad paint job on the ceiling, light fixture missing, and buttons missing on the television. They advertised "all amenities you would expect." Their website even mentions refrigerator, which must have been a mistake because there was none. The staff barely speaks English. The only nice thing about it is that it is in a fairly good location. In general, I expected much more.
Positives: Walking distance (
Negatives: Cracked/missing bathroom tiles, poor air conditioning.

The staff's personal attention and care for guests made up for the humdrum facilities and were most important to this stranger in town.
Positives: Staff's courtesy and attentiveness more than compensated for the rudimentary facilities.
Negatives: Evening argument in parking lot below window, audible over AC on medium cool.

The hotel is an older one, but still very comfortable with large rooms and all the usual amenities. Very convenient to the metro, Reagan National airport and many parks and restaurants.
Positives: Easy access to the metro and restaurants.
Negatives: Small bathroom.

You get what you pay for. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel has all the quirks of an old hotel. It was clean and safe.
Positives: Cheap for the area, accessible.
Negatives: No internet, lousy cable.

Economical hotel, 15 minute cab ride from dc, friendly helpful staff. Room was quite large and comfortable. Very pleasant stay.
Positives: Very economical, friendly staff.
Negatives: There were smoking rooms and the halls smelled of smoke (my room did not).

I did not expect the greatest hotel in the world and my expectations were met. Burns and stains on the carpet, hard beds, and showers that went from scalding hot to freezing cold in seconds. Not a great hotel, but for the price it served its purpose.
Positives: Price was pretty good.
Negatives: Shady location, strange layout.

The Travelodge was par for the type of lodging advertised. It was a perfect "stopover" hotel that allowed my wife and I to crash to sleep in a clean, affordable, and adequate room on our way to our vacation destination.
Positives: Very clean and affordable for the area, met expectations.
Negatives: No fridge or microwave.

The rooms are not well kept, not user friendly, bulbs out in bathroom, no electrical outlets in bathroom for shavers or hairdryers. Old soap left in bathtubs.
Positives: Close to area attractions.
Negatives: No tube for toilet paper in holder had to put paper on tub. No electric outlet in bathroom.

This hotel is convenient to the Downtown DC area and I would recommend it for one who wants to save money. The facilities were habitable and reasonably comfortable--but it is no luxury stay. If you do not plan to spend very much time in your hotel and just need a place to sleep and shower, I would recommend this hotel. There is a star bucks nearby with wireless, so bring your laptop-there is no computer access at the hotel. The best thing going for this hotel is that it is located on one of the main roads in Alexandria not far from shopping, dining and historic landmarks.
Positives: I liked the location of the hotel. I was close to historic landmarks and a few blocks from shopping and dining.
Negatives: The room had an odor to it and there were no common spaces for lounging or computer access.

Clean, quiet, nice area would stay there again.
Positives: Proximity to Irish Pub.
Negatives: Small signage. Drove around block a few times before seeing it.

For a short stay this hotel may be all right but may be a bit overpriced based on cleanliness. Walk to or from Metro at night may not be safe for singles or families.
Positives: Six blocks to Alexandria's King Street and Metro.
Negatives: The Room was not very clean.

Advertised as "within walking distance of Metro." I would estimate the distance to be 1-1/2 to 2 miles. If a person gets off the Metro with a suitcase, they will have to pull it over uneven brick sidewalks through Historic Alexandria. A beautiful walk, but not easy. Healthy people will love the walk and area.
Positives: Lovely neighborhood, functional, basic. Just what I could afford.
Negatives: Not convenient near Metro for handicapped or elderly people. Sticky carpets.
