There are re-enactments of this camp gathering annually in the fall. Early owners of the home include Abingdon industrialist W. N. Fortune, who operated the Old Stone Mill, formerly Claps Textile Factory. The home was also owned by Olin R. Prather, a wealthy oil baron who frequently entertained Texas oil men, including former President George H. Bush
