When the staff found out that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary they sent wine, cheese and fruit to our room along with an anniversary card! The shuttle driver went out of his way to show us some of the Memphis highlights we had missed.
Positives: The staff is wonderful. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The shuttle service was excellent.
Negatives: You have to walk across the driveway to get to the pool. Parking was $15 per day.

I was traveling to Memphis with 3 friends for a fun weekend. We didn't plan on spending much time in the hotel and this hotel was fine for our needs. It was about 2-star quality.
Positives: The room was comfortable enough--not the best but not the worst. Fine for my needs.
Negatives: Not very updated, not the greatest neighborhood, walk to Beale St. was a bit unsafe

See above - we will not stay at this location again.
Positives: Location - bar.
Negatives: No air venting in bathrooms, business center left a lot to be desired - to old and very slow computers, no high definition TV's.

Nice hotel and location. Great deal for the price.
Positives: Price was great. Had no issues.
Negatives: Little further away from Beale St than I would have preferred.

No nicer than most 2-1/2 star hotels but with more expensive room rate, $15 parking fee, and a $15 breakfast buffet.
Positives: Staff was nice, hotel was clean.
Negatives: Bad part of town.

My husband and I needed a getaway before our big getaway next weekend for our 1 year anniversary, so I booked a one night getaway to Memphis from Clarksville. My husband and I checked into the hotel after midnight, so the Night manager checked us in, she was friendly and helpful. After getting back to our room there was an answering machine like we had a message, lol! We laughed and my husband listened to it while I got ready for bed, gHe said aww that was the night manager asking if our room was in order, and if we needed anything at all to call.h
Positives: Location
Negatives: None

I would like to let you know how disappointed I was in staying at the Crowne Plaza Memphis. Our room was completely filthy and if it were not for the fact that I had my 11 month old with me, It was very late, I had booked/paid for my room through Priceline, I would have completely left and demanded my money back. My 11 month old crawled on the floor and his hands and knees were covered in black. In my shock I rushed him to the tub (mind you dirty as well) and washed him immediately. I then took a white towel and swiped back and forth two maybe three times and the towel was completely black.
Positives: The only thing that was nice about this hotel was the pleasant man who checked us in.
Negatives: Filthy rooms!
Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 26 Apr 2011 rated 6 out of 10.
The first room was non-smoking, but we were overpowered by the smell of smoke when we opened the door. The staff was very accommodating and moved us quickly, but the 2nd room was not clean to the level you would expect from a 3.5 star hotel. It was old and just not incredibly clean - especially the bathroom. It was Holiday Inn Express quality at best.
Positives: Great location and convenient.
Negatives: Non-smoking room had the overpowering stench of cigarettes. Had to move rooms.

Right off I-40. If this appeals, it might be worth a night's stay. Otherwise, there are other better choices.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: Odors in public spaces--mildew.

Lobby and Location were great. The room itself was not up to par. Perhaps because it was a handicapped room. The room literally shook the whole time. The floors were so dirty that my daughters knees and hands were black from crawling on it a few minutes.
Positives: Location and shuttle.
Negatives: The floors were filthy. Anything put on the floor got literal dirt on it.

Were very pleasantly surprised, particularly as had a little trouble with staff locating our reservation at check-in. Room had decent view (expected to see parking lot!) Included a refrigerator, which we weren't expecting, was decently sized and had tasteful decor. Desk staff very friendly and helpful.
Positives: The desk staff were friendly and helpful.
Negatives: At check-in could not locate reservation until I provided confirmation receipt.

Hard to locate even with GPS. Check in and out very easy and woman was friendly, knowledgeable and went out of her way to help my dumb friend with her 20 questions. Room was very nice, clean and quiet. Shuttle was convenient, driver very helpful. I would go back again.
Positives: excellent woman at desk on check in and check out. Very helpful about area.
Negatives: Hard to find even with GPS.

Very close to the highway and walking distance to Beale Street. The staff was very helpful and they even had a free shuttle to take you places. Breakfast was a little pricey so we skipped that.
Positives: Updated rooms!
Negatives: No small refrigerator.

Pros: Very impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. I thought it had a convenient location, close to downtown, but not too close. Bed was comfy. Cons: non-smoking room, but evidently someone had smoked in it before we got there because the maid missed cleaning up cigarette ash from the vanity shelf. The<BR/>room also had a bad odor, but they were very quick to come up and spray air freshener both times we requested it.
Positives: Customer service.
Negatives: Room had a bad odor.

OK if you just want a place to sleep. Staff is superficially friendly, but some (e.g., concierge) make it obvious they would rather be somewhere else. Avoid the restaurant, the staff ignores you and takes forever to serve even when the place is nearly empty. Go to the Marriott across the street for meals, service is much better there.
Positives: Self parking was convenient & inexpensive.
Negatives: Housekeeping staff are not well-trained in cleaning or being quiet in hallways.

Our stay was made comfortable by the really awesome staff. Everyone was very cordial, friendly and eager to help.
Positives: Really great staff. Very friendly and very helpful.
Negatives: Rooms could be much better for a 3.5 star hotel.

I loved the Crowne Plaza and the Priceline price. It was GREAT. My first time to Memphis was a safe and enjoyable one and I thank the wonderful Southern hospitality at the Crowne Plaza for their great service.

The pool was very small and no shade to be had.
Positives: Hotel was nice and clean.

This was a very nice hotel, staff was friendly, room was well maintained and quiet.
Positives: Hotel staff was friendly, it was close to freeway exit

It took the hotel staff one hour to get our dinner (There was no one else at the restaurant and we ordered two salads and a soup!)
Positives: I only stayed there one night.
Negatives: Staff was not courteous and the hotel was very old.

This hotel was clean, centrally located, and attractive. We were unhappy to have to pay for parking, but the good aspects of the hotel nearly made up for the outrageous expenditure.
Positives: Free shuttle to downtown Memphis.
Negatives: $10 per night for parking!

Hotel is north of downtown (Beale St.) across the street from trolley stop, very convenient location. We were not impressed with restaurant for breakfast, but I'm usually not. We only ate there to save time before Graceland trip. We will stay there again next time in Memphis.
Positives: The location was great and the trolley stop very close.
Negatives: Only

We loved out stay at the Crowne Plaza. I was a little skeptical at first by the appearance on the elevator area, and the shabby look of the hallways on the upper floors, but was pleasantly surprised at the luxury level of the guest room. The bed was very comfortable, and the decor was updated and fun. Lots of spots to plug in laptops, phone chargers, etc. Front desk staff was particularly helpful with advice on getting down to Beale Street at night. I would recommend this to others without hesitation. It was a great value.
Positives: Beautiful updated room and bath; comfortable bed.
Negatives: Shabby carpet in hallways - poorly lit in hallways - looked drab - ugly design on carpet.

We just stayed one night, but were very pleased. The room was designed very nicely, the bathrooms were gorgeous. The rooms were so comfortable that they made you feel right at home.
Positives: The comfort of the room, beds and friendly staff.
Negatives: The pool needed to be cleaned.

The hotel room was very nice and clean. There was enough room to move around comfortably. If you needed things, they made sure you get it if it is in their power, and they will check to make sure you received that item. I suggest that people stay in this hotel.
Positives: Hotel has excellent customer service.
Negatives: The hotel is a bit difficult to find.

About a mile from Beale Street. There is a shuttle which was readily available. All staff were helpful and friendly. Always asking if everything was alright and if we were having fun. We had the privacy sign on the door and housekeeping called to see if we needed anything! Great experience. We would stay again.
Positives: Arrived at 11am after all night drive & they let us check-in.
Negatives: No continental breakfast.. No fridge in room..

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel because it was during Memphis in May and was a good choice. It was also very affordable, thanks to Priceline, and I got way more than I thought I would.
Positives: It was easy to find and the bed was super comfortable.
Negatives: The parking area was difficult to get into and out of, lack of directions, etc.
Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 09 Apr 2010 rated 9 out of 10.
Staff is attentive to your needs and are very friendly. Always asking if there is anything they can do for you. A free shuttle to anywhere in the downtown area is available until midnight. We asked for and received a King/Non-Smoking. Room was on the north (interstate) side of the building but traffic noise was not an issue. We stayed two nights and when we returned for the evening on the 2nd night, we did not have towels. Had to call the front desk and they immediately sent up towels and apologized for the inconvenience.
Positives: Excellent staff. Very helpful and hotel shuttle is very convenient.
Negatives: Location is the only negative about this hotel.

Negatives: The bar staff was not friendly.

The staff was friendly, and the room was nice. The parking area was fenced in, but I still think it should have been free, this is in TN not NY.
Positives: Comfortable and clean.
Negatives: They charge for parking.

Negatives: Not enough lighting in the room.
