Overall, the hotel was fine, a basic room with no frills. The room was a bit narrow and when you sit on the couch you feel that the wall with the TV is too close to you. The pull out sofa bed was pretty low quality and really only suitable for kids to sleep on. Having the microwave and refrigerator was great. The cheese and crackers that we had brought along came in handy when the pizza that we ordered from Bucks (recommended by hotel - flyer in room) took over two hours to be delivered. We ordered the pizza at 7 pm and they showed up at our door at 9:15 pm. We sent them away, so I can't even say if the pizza is any good.

Positives: Location was close to historic district - 5 minute drive.

Negatives: Bucks pizza - took over 2 hours to deliver.

When we arrived the entire hall stank and the room smelled worse and the bathroom ventilation didn't work at all. We were exhausted.

Positives: Free WiFi to get another hotel.

Negatives: They will steal your money.

Nice hotel - was completely sold out for July 4th weekend. Given that, our experience at the hotel was very good!

Positives: Great price; free parking; nice pool and hot tub; great breakfast.

Negatives: Wish they had a shuttle in to Charleston Historic District.

Great location, maybe a little hard to find for the average traveler, easy with GPS, quiet, comfortable rooms that are nicely furnished. Breakfast bar was above average, easy to access. Lobby is on second floor of this hotel.

Positives: Entrance, lobby, rooms were terrific, super breakfast.

Negatives: Totally non-smoking.

The hotel is clean the room was nice with a great view of the marina. The continental breakfast was great more than the usual sweet roll and juice.

Positives: Location was convenient, easy drive to downtown.

Negatives: Elevators are small and slow there are only two which is not enough for such a busy place.

Very attractive Hotel with secluded, scenic location on waterfront, yet easy access to Downtown Charleston. Felt very safe and was very quiet. No internal restaurant but one just across bay (short drive). Decent breakfast bar, well attended to by staff. Definitely will stay here again on next trip!

Positives: Very attractive interior and exterior. Secluded from traffic yet easy access to Downtown Charleston. Very comfortable bed, clean throughout.

Negatives: Couch and chair in room somewhat stained.

Nice hotel, good bang for the buck. Very close to both Folly Beach, MUSC, and downtown Charleston. Hotel also provides shuttle service to downtown. Very large suites with many ammenities. Housekeeping did a good job and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Only complaint was a slight mildew/mold odor from the air conditioner that might bother people with allergies.

Positives: Spacious suites, convenient to downtown, clean.

Negatives: Room had a slight mildew/mold odor.

The lobby was on the 2nd floor, I didnt think this was easily accessible. Although the lobby was clean and the desk staff was friendly, the room smelt horrible. I called the front desk to change rooms; however, the 2nd one was actually worse. There were 6 of us so it was a lot of trouble to move, so we didnt keep trying. However I ask the cleaning lady for some air freshener and she said she had some, but we never did get any! I thought the bed I slept in was the most uncomfortable bed I had ever laid on, so did my bed partner. It was lumpy or something. This was a trip for my daughters 18th birthday and was supposed to be special. The only thing I can say is at least we were busy and didnt have to spend too much time in the room. But for a Marriott Hotel-I was very disappointed.

Positives: Convenience.

Negatives: The rooms had a mild odor, we ask to change but the 2nd one did too! It was awful!

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend! Only drawback is that it is not close to restaurants or shopping, but there are a variety of eating establishments who deliver to the hotel. Bring your own bottled drinks and snacks because the ones in the vending machine are outrageously expensive.

Positives: Nice room. Great beds, nice view of marina.

Negatives: Continental breakfast could be improved upon.

The manager covered well for the desk staff being trained w/out making them feel inferior & awkward. I'd promote him. The facilities were quiet, had nice decor and had adequately lit parking areas arranged so no one had to walk far. The suite arrangement was best I've been in. The decor was attractive and the room was clean and well-stocked.

Positives: The friendly manager made us feel welcome in spite of tour reduced rate in a sold out the hotel.

Negatives: Entering thru the front door at ground level with no sign saying "Lobby upstairs".

Springhill Suites was a very comfortable place to stay with 2 children. We had enough room, it was very clean, and my children loved the pool. The kitchenette made it easy to keep my children fed, and two TVs meant they could both watch what they wanted. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was very good.

Positives: Friendly staff, large room, good pool, and I liked being near the marina.

Negatives: Would have liked a balcony.

Springhill Suites is a perfect option for any traveler to Charleston. It's right across a bridge over the Ashley River, and you can be in downtown Charleston by following Calhoun Street in about 5-7 minutes. The building is brand new, and the suites are large and comfortable. All guests are treated with southern hospitality.

Positives: Beautiful view of the Ashley river, convenient connection to downtown Charleston.

Negatives: Nothing

Over all very nice. Breakfast was awesome (for a hotel). The hairs in the bathroom grossed me out, but everything else was very clean. Linens were clean, as far as I could see without a black light. I would recommend it, but it is not within walking distance from Downtown Charleston. You will need to drive or take a cab. Pretty nice, but 210 a night seemed a bit steep to me. Especially with the hairs in the bathroom.

Positives: Big room.

Negatives: Couple of hairs in the bathroom which always freaks me out, but it was the only dirty thing.

We got a great deal on this room and found a spot during the opening Spoleto weekend which was exciting enough. However, we got a room on the top floor (the 4th) with a King and a tiny balcony facing the marina. The room clean, huge, and the bed was heavenly. After a restful and very quiet night's sleep, we had a continental breakfast offering a fabulous selection. We highly recommend this hotel.

Positives: Great big rooms, very clean, nice staff, excellent continental breakfast

Negatives: The placement of the television was in front of the couch instead of the bed.
