The hotel is in the heart of the historical district. Very close to carriage rides, dining, waterfront and shopping. The room was very spacious - we had a king suite. My only complaint is that there are not safes in all rooms and ours was one without a safe. We inquired at the front desk and we were told they were all being used at the moment. This meant that I had to carry all of my valuables with me whenever I left the room. Overall, I would stay at this hotel next time I visit, but this time I would request a safe prior to check in.

Positives: The location was perfect. - in the heart of the historical district and very close to everything.

Negatives: Our room did not have a safe - we requested one at check-in, but none were available. I had to carry my valuables with me at all times.

Overall, the staff, especially the bellhops, were very pleasant.

Positives: Quiet room and excellent employees.

Negatives: Nothing. Everything was great.

I was very disappointed in the room. It held a king bed, two bed side tables - that was the total width of the room! Closet was tiny and so was bath. Barely enough room to walk around the bed.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Room size is a broom closet.

A great place to stay when visiting Charleston, close to all attractions. Parked the car and walked everywhere. Would stay again!

Positives: Beautiful rooms and bathroom, location wonderful!

Negatives: Nothing.

Great location, clean and safe hotel. It's in the heart of the historic district and within walking distance of great shopping and entertainment.

Positives: Great location, clean, safe, comfortable beds, roomy and check-out is at noon.

Negatives: You have to use the valet, you can't park your car yourself. $20 a day for parking is really too high.

Liked the hotel. They were not willing to work with us about accommodating our son. The room was very small barely any space to walk, next to gym. I felt that we pay less for room, we would get less of a room. I was disappointed<BR/>I thought I would get a regular room, not what I got.

Positives: Nice and clean hotel.

Negatives: Not willing to work with us about 2 bed room, other room or roll up bed.

Wonderful rooms! Right in the middle of the historic district.

Positives: Great location to see Old Charelston.

Negatives: Difficult to get to.

Tremendous location, nice facilities, irritating charges for basic features which are free at less expensive, lower-end hotels

Positives: The prime location.

Negatives: No breakfast buffet, no free parking, no free WiFi.

The hotel staff was very unfriendly. No coffee in the rooms and couldn't get anything to drink but a mini bottle of water. No one helped us with anything other than to take our money. The rooms were extremely small. They charged $10 for a horrible continental breakfast. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have visited Charleston over 20 times and this hotel made such a beautiful city look very trashy.

Positives: The location.

Negatives: Everything but the location.

Nice hotel. GREAT location. Fairly rated. Friendly/helpful staff. Comfy beds. Fantastic cookies. We would certainly stay here again. What we didn't like they charge $9.95 per day for internet access. We thought this was absurd. Also, there is no parking so you have to pay $19 per day for valet parking plus tip. Still, we liked the hotel and would stay here again.

Positives: Location, staff, cookies, over all good hotel.

Negatives: Charge per day for internet and parking.

This hotel was right smack bang in the center of the action of downtown Charles town so is the perfect location if you want to just stroll to the market or the restaurants. The lobby is lovely beautiful areas to sit in if you are in a crowd. Staff very helpful and we were upgraded when we learned that there we not two beds in our room. However, rooms do need to be updated, the bathrooms are tiny and the non smoking rooms smell of smoke. Grand for a night but would not like to be staying there for more than one day.

Positives: Nice common areas, close to downtown.

Negatives: Rooms dated, expensive parking.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: Grim place with no charm, horrible room.

Warm big cookies on arrival, great room. Had my husband and two teenagers. Suite was big enough for all of us. No pool but not to worry. Lots to do right outside the door.

Positives: Very friendly staff, great location, liked the suite.

Negatives: The valet took forever.

Overall the hotel was an excellent selection. Location for sightseeing, shopping and eating couldn't be beat. Will certainly try to stay here again when I return to Charleston.

Positives: One of, if not, best bed that I have slept in. Great location in historic district - next to market.

Negatives: Did not like paying $20 daily for valet parking. Might have been able to use parking across street, if I'd known in advance. Location was good.

The hotel was fine for the price.

Positives: Location, it was right on market street.

Negatives: There was no microwave in the room as was specified and it took over 3 hours for it to arrive.

This hotel is beautiful, clean and located in the heart of downtown Charleston. I was't overly happy with the $20+ for valet parking, but didn't have much of a choice. Sure wasn't enough to change my mind about what a great hotel this is.

Positives: Great location and

Negatives: Parking. $20 was a little much for valet.

This hotel was all we were looking for. It was located in the historic district close to everything we wanted to do. The room was perfect a loft so we had two living areas. Our room was very clean and manicured looking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again.

Positives: Friendliness of the staff.

Negatives: Water pressure in the bathroom.

We had a great time for our anniversary. It was in incredible location. I would recommend this place, as staff was more than helpful. The second valet made us feel awkward until he had a good enough tip in his mind. It was amazing other than that.

Positives: The staff is incredible.

Negatives: Needs updating.
