Overall very nice and convenient to the historical district. Safe and well kept hotel.

Positives: Clean, convenient location, and great staff.

Negatives: Coffee in room seemed very diluted down.

The beauty of the hotel and the friendliness of the employees was well worth the stay. Plus the location was perfect if you want to explore downtown. I did not want to leave.

Positives: Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was beautiful and clean and classy. Beds comfortable, and location perfect.

Negatives: My room was too quiet. No white noise so I could hear the hallway noise and next door neighbor.

Great hotel. Very modern and beautiful in a chic kind of way. Thin walls in the rooms (can hear conversations of neighbors in their bathroom!). Very clean. Helpful staff. Everything costs extra though: Internet, breakfast, water in the rooms, even parking!

Positives: Very clean.

Negatives: Everything costs extra money! I was disappointed at the lack of amenities.

Friendly staff graciously complied with our request for early check-in and two beds in the room. There was no small refrigerator in the room, but one was brought up at our request. My only complaint was that I had to ask twice for the refrigerator and for extra towels. The lobby area was lovely and felt like a cool oasis after our excursions walking around Charleston. We enjoyed the nice patio area off the bar in the evening.

Positives: Lovely decor; nice location for walking around Charleston; friendly staff.

Negatives: No exhaust fan in bathroom; toilet didn't flush well; would have preferred Queen bed over the double.

Beautiful and<BR/>spacious rooms. Nicely decorated. Helpful staff.

Positives: Spacious room and

Negatives: Wish there was free wireless in the hotel rooms.

The bathroom wasn't exactly 4 star quality. I was disappointed that the only rooms available were with double beds. I would have at least expected 2 queen beds at a 4 star hotel, than 2 double beds, especially considering that there was enough room for two queen beds. But the location was great, the room service was good, maid service was good, &amp; the room was clean.

Positives: The lobby was nice.

Negatives: Rooms weren't exactly 4 stars especially the bathroom.

Positives: Convenient location in historic city.

Negatives: Paying for parking in parking lot across street.

I was expecting something nicer. I booked this room for me and my husband to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. It was a bit of a disappointment.

Positives: The TV, the room service breakfast, except they forgot our toast.

Negatives: Outside of the bathroom door, to the left of the frame on the carpet was dirty.

This was a wonderful place. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and our room, which had a balcony, was clean and attractive. There is a well equipped fitness center with HD TV and a nice view of the outdoor pool. A family with young children would do OK here, but this is really a hole for grownups.

Positives: Location was excellent for restaurants and shopping in Charleston. Concierge, desk attendant, and bell person were all friendly and helpful.

Negatives: Roof top pool was well maintained and in a pleasant setting, but pool deck surface was very rough and hard on bare feet.

This is a great hotel. I actually prefer it to Charleston Place. The rooms are nice and I love the location. Other than the lack of wireless internet in the room (did have in the lobby). It was a great stay that exceeded my expectations.

Positives: Lovely hotel. One of the nicest I have stayed at in Charleston.

Negatives: No wireless internet in the room. I was very surprised.

The hotel was attractive and centrally located in the area we wanted to see. The staff was cordial and helpful. The room was well appointed and clean. Would have liked to have had a safe in the room. Had to ask for a small refrigerator which was promptly brought to our room at no additional cost. Our overall experience was positive.

Positives: We were centrally located to the attractions we wanted to see and the ambiance this hotel offered was excellent.

Negatives: We had to pay for all extra amenities such as coffee, Internet connection, parking etc, etc.

Nice hotel, good staff, restaurant had a nice breakfast but very pricey, 15.00 ea for a regular breakfast. Nice quiet rooms, that was a plus, lots of clean towels. Enjoyed the bar, good drinks. In all a nice place to stay.

Positives: Good location, close to public transportation, clean, and comfortable beds.

Negatives: Not enough hand rails around tub when getting in or out.

Can't say enough good things about the staff, from parking attendant to front desk to rest of staff. Very helpful and nice.

Positives: Great staff, very helpful and room was very comfortable.

Negatives: Our room was over the front entrance and the lights were a problem at night.

When we arrived in the room we noticed that there was no lesiure chair to sit in, we called the help desk & in a timely manner-a hotel worker delivered a leisure chair & ottomon to our room. The food was great. Bar tender very friendly. A great stay. Hotel parking was costly-16.00 a day.

Positives: The clenaliness of the room & promptness of service.

Negatives: The room was a bit small

The Renaissance was a very nice place to stay for 5 days. The staff were very courteous and helpful, and the rooms were nice, clean, and quiet. The restaurant had very good food, but wasn't the most popular place -- we were the only ones there. The pool was only OK -- VERY small rooftop pool deck only had seats for about 10 people.

Positives: Restaurant and bar waitstaff were excellent. Service in general was excellent.

Negatives: $20 per day charge for parking - how else are you supposed to get there?

Just lovely. The lobby was beautiful as are the rooms - even the hallways are nice. Staff was so pleasant. I felt like the bell hops were our friends by the time we left. The complimentary fruit water in the lobby after walking in the heat of Charleston was a delicious and refreshing treat. We didn't want to leave.

Positives: Location. If you don't have a car, you certainly won't miss it.

Negatives: Not too sure if I would bring young children who are not accustomed to an adult environment.
