The hotel is the former Lackawanna train station. The rooms are decorated in an early 20th century motif with nice wood furniture, carpet, bed clothing to create a special environment.

Positives: Ambience, furniture, room features fit the era for the train station. Beautiful hotel.

Negatives: Beds are not comfortable; walls are too thin.

Looks like an older Holiday Inn.

Positives: Priceline rate.

Negatives: Location. Pretty much stuck to their restaurant.

Bad: The room had only 1 window, dim lighting, uncomfortable beds, the TV had horrible picture, it was very creepy every minute it felt like something/someone was always watching you, six floor is haunted, shaky elevators, none of the vending machines worked exept the one on the sixth floor, no kid friendly restaurants only high class restaurants and a bar, no pool either, not the best food, and bad views. Good: It was beautiful in the lobby area.

Positives: The front of the hotel.

Negatives: Restaurants.

I think that with a good housekeeping manager and staff that knew how to clean, this could be a great hotel. Nice location, beautiful building. It was very dirty. Hair on the toilet base. Walls and switch plates dirty. Windows filthy. We had two different rooms, so I think the staff and housekeeping manager need to be replaced or trained.

Positives: It has the potential of being great because of the location.

Negatives: It is filthy. Grime, dirty. Our first room had such a bad odor they changed it.

A beautiful hotel for a fantastic deal.

Positives: The lobby is gorgeous.

Negatives: I had called the hotel to request a certain room and the person I spoke to, was a bit rude.

Nicely redone old hotel unfortunately very inadequate parking.

Positives: Hotel was clean.

Negatives: Parking was awful and staff played games with parking fees.

Hotel itself was very nice, business center was poor, self service pay for coffee/danish was tacky hotel front desk staff on the 8/17/2009 am were not helpful and lacked professionalism. I needed something printed and they would not accommodate my need - that ended up costing me over $40.

Positives: The Lobby area is very nice.

Negatives: A computer not capable of printing a document is not a Business Center.

The room that we had stayed was so loud that the whole family didn't sllep well. The AC was loud and blasted every 15 minutes. The looby was so loud and the room had a window connected to the lobby that we could hear some kids screaming all night.

Positives: Nice looking hotel from outside.

Negatives: Lobby was too open and loud.

I can not believe this hotel is rated 3 stars. The furniture was cheap, outdated and some was broken. The upholstered chairs in my room had holes in the fabric and looked like they were bought at a yard sale. Carpets throughout the entire hotel were stained and dirty. The electrical outlet below the work desk was missing its cover and the wires behind it were exposed. Walls were dirty and stained. The TV was very small and looked 10+ years old. Bathroom fixtures date back to the 70's. Then I got this hole-in-the-wall on my last night in the Scranton area. This hotel needs to be downgraded.

Positives: Friendly staff.

Negatives: Very old, dated furnishings .

It has a very nice Foyer and Dining area. Room that did not have a window to the outside. I now this is a renovated train station and I expected some quirks but they have a room with a window into the mezzanine. The hotel didn't provide any type of information about Scranton IE restaurants, attractions etc. The staff wasn't knowledgeable. The rooms were clean but for the money stay across the street at the Hilton.

Positives: Foyer was nice.

Negatives: My room had a window into the lobby not the outside.

Charm and atmosphere loved the train station restoration and atrium center core and intact details and architecture. Hotel was welcoming from blocks away and continued that way throughout the stay.

Positives: Arrived late - all staff was attentive and professional alot of character.

Negatives: Liked it all.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very spacious and clean, with a fantastic view. My meetings were mostly in town and I could walk everywhere in downtown which is a plus. Only a few negatives: The cleaning staff didn't always give me clean replacements for dirty glasses and I had to ask for more coffee for the little in-room coffee maker. Also, the supposedly upscale Wine Bar downstairs allowed smoking, and when I went in, there were a bunch of guys watching a football game. Not the right atmosphere for an $8 glass of wine! Overall, I'd stay there again, definitely.

Positives: The rooms are large, the beds very comfortable, room service was quick and quite good.

Negatives: Cleaning staff did not always replace cups, coffee for coffee maker, etc.

Wow, horrible experience. Location is great, restaurant in lobby is very nice and food was excellent. That was the only good points of the entire stay. The rooms are so outdated. Old time TVs, bathroom was not clean, bed had bed bugs, I was bit at least 7 times the first night. I had to Lysol the entire bed after I stripped off the sheets. Legitimately it is a 1.5 star hotel, not even close to a 3 star.

Positives: Carmine's the restaurant was very good, location was good.

Negatives: Rooms are outdated and dirty and bed bugs.

This hotel was very nice. If you do not need a pool, and like to be Downtown, I recommend it. The room was nice. You can easily walk through the Downtown to see the historic buildings and sights, as well as the mall and rail museum. Scranton appears to be an emerging city with older buildings.

Positives: Nice building, nice rooms, can walk to Downtown.

Negatives: No pool.

Beautiful hotel, Jacuzzi did not work properly, one chair, no table, jazz festival held at hotel an attendees took up parking spots in lot, hotel guest paid a dollar a day for spots. Window curtains did not close, letting sun light entering room in the morning.

Positives: It was beautifully redone keeping the history of site intact.

Negatives: We stayed during an event at the hotel which took up parking spaces.

Great place for any occasion. The staff was mostly younger, very attentive and genuinely nice people e.g. my wife had to take a limo to Newark airport at 2 am and when it was late a staffer volunteered to drive her ifit did not arrive. It settled her nerves and we felt taken care of. Limo did arrive.

Positives: Location, old railroad station, neat. Grand room, Sunday brunch, has 1920's elegance.

Negatives: Pony tailed man directing seating for brunch barked at female help, most unpleasant for my guests.

This hotel is a converted train station with marble walls and pillars, tile murals, and a huge overhead rounded glass ceiling with stained glass panels. The room was spacious and well appointed. The brunch was excellent, with an omelet station, waffles, and all kinds of breakfast and lunch choices. It was quite lavish. People visit this hotel as a tourist attraction, and we were pleased to stay there. I would highly recommend it as a unique and affordable hotel experience.

Positives: It had a beautiful, historical atmosphere. Sunday brunch was lavish, with a chocolate fountain as centerpiece.

Negatives: I liked everything about this beautiful hotel.

Older train station converted to hotel. Rooms were large but stuffy. Beds were quite good. Public areas feature architecture of old train station but really lack areas to sit and meet people.

Positives: The room feature: select comfort beds.

Negatives: AC was not working, there is a disco in lobby, hotel was noisy and populated with young people.
