This hotel was overpriced for the value received. Not close to being worth it. The obvious broken sliding door leading to the balcony was bad. They even intentionally left open when I noticed a bar that could have been placed there to hopefully prevent entry. The only bright spot was the small exercise room which had two trend mills, recumbent bike and weights which was good for me and fortunately no one was using them when I walked in.
Positives: It was close to University of Pittsburgh/Carnegie Mellon campuses which was reason for trip.
Negatives: Security horrible! Sliding glass door to balcony was broken & anyone could have entered & stolen possessions.

Nice hotel for the price. Easy to get to the zoo, Kenny wood, and Heinz Field. We would stay there again.
Positives: Staff was friendly, location was great.
Negatives: The hotel was am little worn down.

Found this hotel to be far from clean. We actually found what looked like a crack pipe between the bed and the nightstand. We were not offered any type of discount because of this. There were bobby pins on the bathroom floor (not mine) and the light switches were filthy! This hotel served our purpose (needing a room overnight), but I will not go back.
Positives: Parking was convenient and they had a shuttle service.
Negatives: Cleanliness of hotel left much to be desired.

Don't look too closely and you'll be okay. It's an okay room but the carpet is stained and torn. The fixtures are beaten up and the window to the balcony looks less than secure. However, it's in a super-convenient location and there's a Panera downstairs that you can access directly via elevator, so it wasn't all bad.
Positives: The location was very convenient.
Negatives: It looks like it's seen better days.

The price was significantly lower than any others close by. The airport is over 20 miles away. The room was clean; the bedding was clean; the non smoking room was a non smoking room. It had a microwave and a small refrigerator. Panera was downstairs. Parking was good. I'm going back. The parking lot appeared to be safe day and night. Another couple was just as pleased as I was.
Positives: Best location in town for any price.
Negatives: Nothing.

Hotel was a good place to sleep, which was what I used it for. The fixtures worked and the room/bath were clean. No insects. Staff were helpful and the restaurant was excellent.
Positives: The economics.
Negatives: Distance from convention center.

For what I needed, this hotel was perfect. The room was clean, parking lot was adequate and free (others in the area charged for parking), the staff helped me with printed directions to a local mall, and there was a Panera Bread right underneath! I left there very happy.
Positives: Staff was very accommodating!
Negatives: Undergoing renovation.

It was an okay hotel. We needed to drop my daughter off at college, so it was the cheapest and closest hotel we could find for that purpose.
Positives: It was close to my daughter's dorm room and that's what we needed and the cheapest price we could find.
Negatives: It was not very up-to-date. Needs a lot of help in that capacity.

The hotel was a bit musty and the internet was not working once the new router got installed it was fine. I liked the bed and the bedding it was comfortable needs some sprucing up.
Positives: Proximity to my goal.
Negatives: Interior.

They have an excellent location and know it. I would not pay this price or stay in this hotel if located near an Interstate at the price I paid. The cost was too high for the quality of the room.
Positives: Convienient location. I likled the restaurant colocated in building
Negatives: Hotel is old and shows it's age. Management has not upgraded or modernized the facility in some time.

Good+ economy hotel located close to the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Art and Natural History museum, casual restaurants, and convenience stores. Helpfulness and positive attitude of staff varied. Hotel restaurant (Panero) just right.
Positives: Exercise room, coffee available all day long.
Negatives: Sink was dirty, microwave and fridge were

The staff was accommodating but quiet is rather impossible because the external exhaust fans are beneath the windows of the hotel.

Great location. But the room itself felt cheap. But if you're visiting Pittsburgh and want to be in a good place to see all the sites, this is a good choice.
Positives: The location.
Negatives: Noisy, drab and

Although the hotel looked older and a bit worn, the room was clean, service was good, parking was free, and WiFi was free. Overall, a great value.

Room was what was expected but the computer service was non existent. We had to move rooms and finally picked up the wireless connection from Panera rest. Which I used to do my work.
Positives: Clean.
Negatives: Computer facilities were terrible could only get if in lobby.

The hotel in general is a good and safe environment for guest to stay.
Positives: The hotel is clean and close to my destination.
Negatives: Breakfast was not provided.

The Hotel was very easy to find. It would be perfect for anyone going to an event at the Petersen Event center. It is very close. The rooms are clean and the staff is very helpful. I will be staying here again.
Positives: I liked how easy it was to find in the city and the Panera Bread in the hotel.
Negatives: It took a long time to get a taxi.

We were on a mini honeymoon, for guests that just want to sit back and chill there was not much on TV and nothing to entertain in the hotel (can't order movies). We were 10 min. late checking out and one staff gave us quite an attitude. The other gentleman was very pleasant. And it would not hurt to modernize the hotel a little,(new TVs, a small fridge, a microwave).
Positives: The staff was mostly friendly/ smoker friendly.
Negatives: You can't order a movie from you room, staff not very familiar with surroundings or attractions. Smelly.

It was a reasonable hotel for visiting Oakland area in Pittsburgh.
Positives: The price is reasonable.
Negatives: The sound insulation of each room is not sufficient.

Not recommended if you need a cab. Location is somewhat near the Universities, but own transportation will be required. Good for smokers and those on a budget.
Positives: General Location is ok.
Negatives: Very dirty room, front desk unhelpful.

Hotel was easy to get to. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The nightly rate was a little bit high compared to similar hotels, but the overall experience was satisfactory. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be close to downtown and the university area.
Positives: The staff was friendly, and efficient.
Negatives: Would have liked ice machines on every floor, price was a little high for the facilities.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 16 Mar 2008 rated 9 out of 10.
I liked it a lot and I would stay there again.
Positives: There was a delicious smell of Panera bread in our room.
Negatives: It could have had better information about bus schedules.

Pretty standard hotel for the price. Ten minute walk to Pitt and Carnegie Melon, but if you're looking for something closer, there's a Holiday Inn. Select right next to the Cathedral of Learning (for about twice the price). The staff was very friendly, but the biggest plus was the Panera next to the lobby.
Positives: There's a freaking Panera.
Negatives: It seems like most of the hotel is "smoking", so there was a bit of a smell.
