We expect more from a 4 start hotel, but this one does not meet our expectation. You have to pay for parking, Internet.

Positives: Convenient location.

Negatives: Overrated as a 4 start hotel.

Except for the undisclosed fact that the lobby was being renovated, everything else was of very high quality and comfort. The hamburger I had for one lunch was a bit chewy.

Positives: The room, bathroom, staff, and service was excellent.

Negatives: There was renovation of the lobby, and my purpose there was to escape repainting of my home.

Beautiful hotel. Parking for one night was $30 and tax. Be prepared to tip the valet parker, employee taking luggage into hotel and a third employee taking the luggage to your room. When we got to the room at 6:30, house cleaning was there fluffing the pillows. Great service but it does add up!

Positives: Very clean and friendly staff.

Negatives: Had a difficult time getting off of 17th St. for valet parking. Very tight area!

Excellent style and location. We very much enjoyed our stay but were very disappointed to find no coffee maker in the room. This is one of the few hotels we've stayed in without a coffee maker.

Positives: The location and friendly staff.

Negatives: There was no coffee maker in the room, this was disappointing.

Negatives: Bed was too soft for comfortable sleeping.

Loved the lobby, staff was friendly, excellent location downtown. The bed was great and the bathroom was beautiful - but we were disappointed in the room size - wish it was a little larger.

Positives: The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful.

Negatives: The room was too small, very little room to move around.

Overall nice experience, lobby nice, a bit small. Rooms were nice, decor a bit cheap, but style was overall appealing. Cheap, sheik which makes the 4 star price high in my opinion.

Positives: Location, security, friendly staff.

Negatives: Room decor is nice at first glance, but secend look a bit cheap. Small room.

The Sofitel Philadelphia is a modern, up to date, comfortable hotel with a racially mixed, sophisticated clientele. It is French, but not dominated by French patrons. The decor is beautiful and everything about the hotel is comfortable. The photos on the hotel web page do not do justice to the actual premises.

Positives: The bar and the staff.

Negatives: The restaurant was understaffed and my food was cold one night.

The hotel made our family trip to Philadelphia a first class family vacation. Would definitely recommend Sofitel/Philadelphia to my friends and will seek out Sofitel Hotels in other cities when traveling.

Positives: The size of the rooms and bathrooms and overall appearance were first class.

Negatives: Smoking in lobby area was strong.

Even though this hotel is large, it still had a wonderful warmth about it, the staff certainly helped that. The beds are absolutely wonderful, and you can purchase the duvet and pillows through the hotel. The lounge was very nice, open and airy. The lobby is decorated with beautiful seasonal flowers with candles around them. The type of flowers and color schemes were changed both days we were there, nice touch. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Without question, we would return.

Positives: They let us stay until 1:30 pm for a slightly late check-out at no extra charge. Anything beyond 1:30 am

Negatives: Upon arrival, we had to drive around the block as the entrance circle was back up to the street.
