Nice hotel with a great location. Room service did not update the free coffee and water.

Positives: Friendly people.

Negatives: Insuffiencent check in staff. A letter was sent to the GM.

The hotel in itself is pleasant enough and well located. However, for this price there are better options. One thing that sticks out is that one needs to take the elevator to the reception which in itself is gloomy looking and not a vibrant area. It feels dis-jointed. The rooms are comfortable, but nothing special. Staff is pleasant and helpful. For a Westin, it is rather a disappointment.

Positives: The hotel is well located.

Negatives: The lobby entrance is dis-jointed, you have to go up a level to reach the reception, a dark space devoid of natural light..

Hotel is very well located, our room was attractive and large, staff was exceptionally helpful.

Positives: Staff was very helpful.

Negatives: There was no inexpensive breakfast option.

The beds and bed linens are superb, I slept like a baby! The desk service, valet service and luggage service were helpful, very nice and speedy. Like I said before, the location of this hotel is fantastic and for the price you can't beat it.

Positives: Very close to shopping and good restaurants!

Negatives: Parking is way too expensive!

I expect great things of Westins, and this place lived up to expectations. Would stay again; wish we didn't have to leave!

Positives: Great location in a beautiful, characterful building (formerly a Ritz Carlton, the cabbie said).

Negatives: Slightly complicated entryway (elevator to the lobby). No big deal; my kid actually thought it was cool.

There was no real Customer Service as I would expect in an exclusive hotel. I did not see a concierge in the lobby. Nothing really stood out about this hotel to make it memorable.

Positives: The room was very comfortable they gave us a king bed.

Negatives: There is no pool or whirlpool, not much to see or do in the lobby or the hotel. i did not see a restaurant or hotel bar. Too pricey to park a car.

The room was comfortable and well accommodated. Luxurious feel as expected for the price.

Positives: Very comfortable bed.

Negatives: Difficult self park checkout.

Hotel is centrally located in central Philadelphia, easy walking distance to all locations, stores, museums, etc. Very well maintained, beautifully appointed lobbies and rooms. Beds were super comfortable. However, the lobby was one flight up from the entrance so leaving/arriving always required 2 elevators. Also, for first night's check-in we were on line for close to 20 minutes. Hotel has no pool, so it's somewhat child unfriendly. Views from our top floor room (northside)were very limited and obscured by taller buildings.

Positives: Rooms/lobbies were beautiful and elegant.

Negatives: Access to the lobby via an elevator. First nights check in was lengthy (20 Min's).

I would recommend the Westin to friends and family. It was comfortable and they had snacks in the room, such as peanut or candy or drinks. Parking was a little pricey for an overnight stay.

Positives: It was clean and close to everything in the city & room very comfortable.

Negatives: Restaurants close too early and there was no place for a light snack within the hotel.

Did not clean room well. We paid $45 a day for valet parking they never opened my door (I am a female) and never checked our ticket for our car, could have literally said any one that was out front at that time was ours and they would just hand over the keys.

Positives: Beautiful hotel.

Negatives: Horrible customer service.

Very comfortable beds and plush rooms with over sized bathrooms.

Positives: Very modern and plush rooms.

Negatives: Two elevators in order to get to your room.

The Westin quality is good. Room was at first guest floor, at the back, and no view), but as I was gone all day, no problem. Nice and quiet; room very comfortable. I liked the in-room coffee, but no extra pods because there was no mini-bar. (Only there for one night do didn't ask.)

Positives: The room was clean, well-furhished, good bed; staff was friendly; general ambience good.

Negatives: My room was in the back and did not have the advertised mini-bar.

My impression was that the management and staff (with a few exceptions) were more focused on practicing fast-talking negotiations instead of courteous service to their guests. It is all about attitude although some specific behaviors can be offered such as falsely implying the 4th floor was not the lowest floor when in fact it is, indicating no other rooms were available other than the 4th floor room with an unattractive rear view which was also false, no caffeinated coffee (shipment is late), uneven room service (had to request soaps or shampoos on various days), and the internet service was not included ($13 daily charge). Most disappointing was the front desk gentlemen upon check-in whose fast-talking wheeling and dealing style was very unprofessional. This set an unpleasant tone for my stay. I would not stay here again.

Positives: Bed was comfortable. Shower hot and twin shower head strong.

Negatives: Staff at font desk upon check in (3 gentlemen) not accommodating regarding request for higher floor and or street view. Received lowest floor, back view.

Wonderful experience.

Positives: Friendly staff.

Negatives: For a 4-star I thought that there would be a few more amenities.

Great hotel, staff and rooms. Just need to adjust the spring on the doors so that they don't make so much noise when they slam shut.

Positives: Very courteous and helpful staff.

Negatives: Doors made a lot of noise slamming shut.

The Westin Philadelphia is a luxurious well maintained hotel with great rooms and an impressive service. I loved my stay and wished I had stayed longer.

Positives: Loved the lobby, loved the clean bathroom and quality.

Negatives: The maid service started at 8:00 AM, was loud and persisted until noon. knocking and talking in the hall way.

The Hilton turned out to be the Hilton Garden Inn in Chinatown, which was several blocks away from the Westin location. The next day, we returned to the Westin (in a cab at our own expense) and we checked into a standard room. Upon checkout, there was no credit for the first night in which we did not stay at the hotel. Needless to say, the overall experience left us less than satisfied, especially considering none of this was our fault.

Positives: Clean, modern, good location, nice amenities.

Negatives: How we were treated after being greatly inconvenienced.

Upscale hotel within walking distance of major downtown Philadelphia attractions. Luxury comfort beds, well appointed rooms, very attentive staff.

Positives: Upscale hotel in central location downtown.

Negatives: Cost of underground parking expensive.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 02 Oct 2008 rated 7 out of 10.

The hotel has a poor layout that leads to having to walk through parties in the hotel lobby to get to the elevators that take you to the rooms. The staff was present, but not much help. The workout room was lacking. No bathroom exhaust vents for showers.

Positives: Clean, nice shower heads and nice TV.

Negatives: No pool, no whirlpool, no shuttle to Airport.

This hotel was great for the price. Location is very safe, we walked to Liberty Bell and Independence hall. Mutter museum is just a hop away (a must see) and we walked to the Philadelphia museum of art. I have no complaints other than the exorbitant prices for parking but that's anywhere downtown Philly. Also valet left our car unlocked in the parking garage, which we let them know about, and it didn't happen again. All in all a great hotel for the price.

Positives: Clean, in room amenities include Starbucks coffee, dual shower heads, bed was heavenly soft, location was excellent for us.

Negatives: Parking is exorbitant, valet left car unlocked we just happened to be walking by and noticed car was unlocked in parking garage with GPS and cell phone.
