The rooms are dirty and mattresses from when they just opened. The pools are filthy and so are the hot tubs. I was told that I would have a huge balcony overlooking the lake and got a filthy wet and cigarette filled balcony which had no view because of all the overgrown trees. The entertainment is vulgar and we heard the same band over and over again. Food is okay but the soup tastes like its from a can and the drinks are $8.50 for a tiny glass just to get a buzz. I was very disappointed and the TV's had VCR and not DVD's and movies were $13 a piece to watch. During breakfast and dinner we were pressured to sit with other couples when tables were clearly available.
Positives: I liked the activities that I went to outside the resort and had to pay out my pocket for to escape the horrible resort.
Negatives: Everything and especially the outdated everything.

From the pictures we had seen on the internet, we expected a nice resort in a beautiful setting. Needless to say, we were unpleasantly surprised when we arrived to find that this place is outdated, dirty, and dilapidated. The room smelled terrible, and my feet stuck to the floor in the bathroom. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the bed was stained and uncomfortable, the televisions in the room were ancient, and the whole place reminded me of some rent-by-the-hour motel room in the seediest part of town. Nothing has been changed since the seventies. Add to this the fact that they charge you for everything except breakfast and dinner, and you've got a pretty frustrating scenario. An episode of The Office is going to cost you $4.00. Movies are (no exaggeration) $15.00 to rent. The building across from our room actually had a roof that appeared to be caving in, the pool had green stuff growing in the bottom, and their indoor activities seemed to have been set up by a class of high school kids trying to earn community service credits. When we got home, we took two showers, washed everything we had taken in the hottest water.
Positives: The food was good.
Negatives: Dirty, smelly, and completely overpriced. Avoid at all costs.

Upon arrival, we immediately got the feeling of being in a cheesy theme park with signs plastered all over with big red hearts and mentioning love everywhere. The lobby decor (red and pink colors) and smell made you feel like it was the seventies all over again. They hand you the brochure with the activities. We had hoped for more sport-oriented activities but it seems that this place is mostly geared toward older couples. There aren't even enough trails to do long walks/hikes which you would expect for a big property in the Poconos. The room: Once again, the most outdated seventies decor, dark, and plain ugly! Floor plan and amenities in the room are great though. Two levels: top level when you enter is a mini-living room with fireplace, bottom level is bedroom with round bed with nifty star-studded ceiling and surrounded with mirrors. Sheets are not fitted. Then access to large bathroom with toilet (would have been nice if it was separate/enclosed), shower with heat lamp, two-sink vanity, heart-shaped jacuzzi. Then access to private indoor heated pool and sauna. Glad we brought our own candles so we could switch off those awful bright lights in the pool room for our skinny dipping. It is supposedly all inclusive; but their idea of all-inclusive and mine totally differs. Normally, when it is all inclusive, you have access to food/restaurants at any time you wish. Here, you better be at the main restaurant between 6 PM and 8 PM; otherwise, too bad for you, no dinner. And mixed drinks are not included. You only get soda if you don't want to pay extra. You are seated with 3 other couples. Breakfast works the same way, seated with 3 other couples. We lucked out better there. Breakfast food from the buffet is lame and overcooked. You can ask the waiter to have pancakes freshly made for you or any kind of omelet you want. We tried at night to see if we could go dance at the nightclub. We then decided to skip it and have our own fun with the sauna/pool/jacuzzi. Overall, we were shocked to see that most people we met there were coming to this place for years to celebrate their anniversary! Seemed like people come to this cheesy love-themed hotel to jazz up their marriage. Pool/sauna/jacuzzi were fun.
Positives: Private pool, sauna, and jacuzzi in the rooms.
Negatives: Everything else.

The hotel lobby manager was a stupid and that's putting it nicely. Then we were supposed to be in a non smoking room but when we walked in it smelled awful and I thought that maybe they we had been put in a smoking room by accident. Guess not. Everything is horribly outdated and very uncomfortable. If you are stuck in the 80's and this is the place to be. Once we decided to to make the best of it used the pool in our room, cove fantasy, there were marks on the mirrors from other peoples as well as in the bathroom. The food was good I will give them that but even dinner had no real dress code and while some of us dressed up like expected on a resort others came in jeans and a sweat shirt. They sit you with random people at dinner which is hit or miss. The activities are geared towards older adults, bingo and deer feeding.
Positives: The food.
Negatives: Everything thing else.

Okay, this place is not what it's set out to be. My boyfriend and I arrived, checked in and everything seemed to be fine. We started driving to our room and noticed a lot of signs that made us feel like we were in some theme park. We got the Garden of Eden Apple room and upon arriving it was extremely outdated and not what you expect for a night. No microwave, no cups, and the bed felt like a rock. At dinner we were seated with three other couples not being offered our own table and it was extremely uncomfortable and awkward. It was so uncomfortable we got up and left before our dinner was served, drove ten miles to get Chinese food, then realized we had no silverware, called guest services for silverware, 'sure drive down to the cafe and get it yourself'. The pool inside the room was small but nice, didn't stay long enough to use the sauna. The shower handle didn't work well it was loose and kept scalding our skin because it wouldn't stay in one place. Really, how about a bed as hard as a rock with white outdated sheets and comforters with no pillow top mattress. If there was a pillow top mattress we might have been able to sleep instead of tossing and turning all night. Okay fireplace, looks outdated but wait, no logs. You have to buy them at the gift shop. All inclusive is supposed to mean everything included but not at this place. Skiing and horseback riding cost extra. So we were here in the winter and were excited about snowmobiling and tubing. Well the area to snowmobile was extremely small and probably would hold someone's attention for ten minutes. Tubing was a little tiny hill that wasn't even worth going on. For all the reviews on here that are positive. They must be people who work for Cove Haven because a lot of them mention that the people who leave negative comments are whiners or are expecting too much. For the people who are reading this and are thinking about going. Honestly just save your money and time and go somewhere else. Trust me.
Positives: Leaving was the best part.
Negatives: Everything.

Cove Haven resort is a fun couples getaway. Be prepared for some romantic cliches (heart-shaped hot tubs, round beds, mirrored walls, etc) but the atmosphere is relaxed and romantic. You can do as much or as little as you like. It's like summer camp for couples - there's archery, ice skating, mini golf, boat rides; all sorts of diversions. The food was good and the staff was friendly. If all this appeals to you, check it out.
Positives: Despite the corny decor, we had a fun, romantic weekend.
Negatives: We were not allowed to swim in the lake.

Upon entering the room you got a big smell of cigarette smoke. In the bathroom I stepped on numerous pieces of glass. Called the front desk and they stated that they would have the maid in the morning clean it up. The maid came and I still stepped on another piece of glass. I stayed at the Ceasars Resorts two other times and this was by far the worst experience I have had. The credit card keys to the room barely worked. Upon notifying the front desk that said ok, bring them to the lobby. I am the guest and the cards should have been brought to me.
Positives: Has everything you need on the resort.
Negatives: Location.

A truly romantic getaway in the mountains, with so much to do for any couple, great entertainment, delicious food, wonderful staff, and of course beautiful, very romantic rooms you wont be disappointed.
Positives: A very romantic atmosphere.
Negatives: The chicken parmesan at dinner was overcooked.

The hotel was not as depicted. It was pretty out of date and in need of some updating to the 21st century. Not to mention rather cheesy with red lights everywhere. I felt like I was in a red light district in Amsterdam, and thats not the most romantic place I can think of. Erotic, however not really 'romantic' the heart shaped hot tub looked great, but after bathing in it we noticed, when the bubbles subsided, all sorts of black dirt and mold that must have came out from the jets. It was really gross because we didn't notice it till we already had our time in the tub and the bubbles subsided. I mentioned it when we checked out the next morning and the clerk said 'we'll get it fixed for you.' Needless to say I was checking out and I will never be returning so the only person she helped out was herself. They certainly made no effort what so ever to make up for it. It would be nice to hear from one of their managers.
Positives: It tends to be romantic, in a cheesy sort of way.
Negatives: The hot tub was disgusting; I am not sure what I bathed in and may see a doctor and or lawyer.

Wow! Every time we stay here, we fall in love all over again! It's such an awesome atmosphere in any season! Here are just some of the features of this resort: a lot of rooms have swimming pools right in them & almost all have heart-shaped Jacuzzis-for-two, saunas, refrigerators & fireplaces! If you have a membership, you can get a 20% discount! If you're a star wood resorts member, you can 50% off for just 1000 star points. This resort & the other Caesars Pocono resorts are owned by Sheraton. If your workplace is a member of the getaway club, you can also get 50% off that way, too. It's a couples-only resort & all-inclusive so you pay one price & everything included: tax, gratuity, all-you-can-eat dinners, social directed group activities, nightly entertainment (usually a band & dancing or a comedian), breakfast-in-bed, hors da oeuvres, late night snacks, theme nights (welcome, romance, mardi gras, tropical beach, roman night), plus a later all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast in the dining room if you like. Some of the on-site free activities included are: tanning beds, water-skiing, speedboat rides, paddle boats, rowboats, sailboats, fishing, 9 hole regulation golf course, golf driving range, miniature golf, tennis (indoor & outdoor), racquetball, swimming pools (indoor & outdoor), fitness equipment, hot tubs, basketball, volleyball, walleyball, bicycles-built-for-2 or 1, archery, billiards or pool, bocce ball, ping pong, roller skating, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice skating (indoor & outdoor), tobogganing, snow tubing, wireless internet access, 24 hour coffee, tea & hot chocolate. For a fee there is also: an arcade, horseback riding, skiing, room service, massage therapy, horse-drawn carriage rides, etc. There is lot to do, so you won't get bored. The rooms are so unique with swimming pools, Jacuzzis, fireplaces & saunas that some people just stay in the rooms. It's such a romantic place to enjoy with your special someone that I can't recommend it enough. Go often with the one you love. You won't be sorry.
Positives: We loved our private pool in our room!
Negatives: We hated to leave!
