If the price had been right we would have preferred the Hilton one block away, which is far more like a real, upscale hotel, with handsome and spacious public areas, varied dining options, and an overall classy feel. The Crowne Plaza offered a very acceptable in-city hotel experience, with consistently friendly staff in all departments.

Positives: Very friendly staff: front desk, restaurant, housekeeping. Comfortable bed. Good temperature control. Desk and desk chair. Internet.

Negatives: Kind of minimal and tacky public areas.

Nice clean hotel, pleasant staff, but not convenient to Hershey, traffic was horrendous during the week. I would never stay in Harrisburg again if I had to go to Hershey Park.

Positives: Nice staff, clean place.

Negatives: Not convenient to Hershey at all, took an hour to get there.

On our 2nd night there the room was cleaned, well beds made, but there was still coffee in coffee pot and we had no towels in our room and 4 people who wanted to shower, took 45 minutes to get towels also there was some construction work which caused the fire alarm to go off after we had put our kids to bed, very traumatic experience for small kids.

Positives: Location was great, staff nice.

Negatives: Housekeeping staff could be better.

Good location, comfortable and clean.

Positives: The location and proximity to the train station.

Negatives: The lobby is a bit bland and empty feeling.

The hotel was lovely but did not appear to be suited for young children. The bathroom was somewhat dirty. The restaurant service was poor and food was not a good quality. Did not know we would have to pay for parking.

Positives: Attractive rooms.

Negatives: Could hear next room, bathroom not clean and hotel restaurant provided a poor quality service and meals.

Very nice. Better and more central to town than we needed.

Positives: Could walk to local restaurant.

Negatives: No reading area while spouse sleeps.

The hotel is very clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The elevators were on the fritz, so we had to walk up 9 flights of stairs, but overall a good experence in the hotel. The associated parking garage staff were friendly, but the manager behind the window was rude, arrogant, and offensive. I would not come here again if I had to park there.

Positives: Clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff.

Negatives: The parking garage people were rude and arrogant.

The hotel was nice but parking was not included. We either had to park on the street (metered) and risk a tow or pay $18/day to valet park under the hotel. We traveled with young children so having a pool was nice but it was really cold so we weren't able to stay in for long.

Positives: The hotel had a pool where my kids could get some run-around time.

Negatives: Lobby floor was dirty and pool was really cold.

This hotel was very good but is in the heart of the city making it hard to walk around with the children as it is very close to some not so nice areas. Staff is wonderful if you talk to the right person. Would recommend for business travel not necessarily family but not bad if you can stick to eating at the hotel.

Positives: The staff was very helpful.

Negatives: There is a $20 a day valet parking fee that is not mentioned anywhere should be known.

I really like the hotel, the parking was the only thing I had a problems with. We had to park down the road and walk, carrying all of our bags back to our hotel.

Positives: The staff was really nice, and I love the room.

Negatives: The parking was horrible. There was none available in the hotel garage so we had to park a couple blocks away and walk to our hotel.

Was not a 3 star, but maybe 1 star possibly 2. The location was dangerous if you walked two blocks east, don't go there. This hotel may be suitable for business travelers but not for families. Parking is a issue you have to pay $18 a day and give tips, so the actual cost is $20 a day depending on how many time you call for your car.

Positives: Elevator was quick.

Negatives: You had to pay for parking $18 a day.
