DuPont so he could easily travel from his farm at Longwood to his office in Wilmington, Delaware. The Kennett Pike, a Scenic Byway, travels through the beautiful chateau country of Southeast Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware where many of the DuPont families settled and built their estates. Today the unspoiled Kennett Pike area is unique with its open spaces, rolling country side, villages and large estates beckoning to visitors just as it did during the formative years of our Nation. Many of the jewels of our area border on this road: Longwood Gardens - 1 mile, Winterthur Museum and Gardens, and Brandywine River Museum are 6 minutes away. The business district of downtown Wilmington is only 12 miles from Longwood B&B, making our fine residential setting a perfect place for the business traveler.
