I thought this place was great. The location was perfect. I had an appointment at the VA hospital and they are right across the street. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They are under new owner/management and I think that helped. The rooms were nice, and the pillows were great 5 of them! Wow! I had a great experience and recommend this place to all. The rooms were a little bit small, but they were still cozy. The maintenance was real nice and offered to help with my bags when I was coming down the stairs. And the parking lot was closed in which gave the hotel a safe feeling. Wish the lobby was more welcoming, but the manager says thats the next remodel.
Positives: Comfortable, safe and friendly.
Negatives: Lobby was not to welcoming.

I am a floating pharmacist scheduled to work at the Roseburg Fred Meyer for the week (1/15-1/19), and hence staying at the best western garden villa inn. I wear contacts to work and prescription glasses at night. However, after taking off my contacts after work and picking up my glasses, I realized that a lens fell out. Upon closer inspection, I realize the frame holding the lens was cracked and one of the legs severely bent out of shape. I immediately brought it to the front desk to let them know. The manager of housekeeping came the next day to hear my situation and took some pictures of my broken glasses. However, she said that she has talked to the housemaid and he said that I¿ve always put my glasses behind the lamp and that he did not touch them during housekeeping. I believe that he is lying due to fear of the consequences of omitting to breaking my glasses, even though it may be accidental. The facts are that both he and I agree that my glasses were in the hotel room while I was at work. I don't believe there was any break-in or thief while I was at work. But my glasses were definitely cracked and bent out of shape. It's interesting to note that my broken pair glasses were put behind the lamp facing up with the lens put back in the frame despite the cracked frame; as if the cracked frame will support the lens upon wearing. I usually put my glasses on its back on top of my book before I turn off the lights. The evidence indicates that someone has tempered with my glasses and broken them while I was at work. I don't believe there's anyone in my room beside the housekeeper. But it has been over two weeks and the management has not returned my inquiries despite my calls to the office. I feel that the hotel owner is trying to shrug me off and not compensate for my personal damage. I think the hotel owner should be hold responsible for his/her employees for damaging private property. For if anything was to be damaged in the hotel room while I was there, the management will surely charge my credit card for these damages. I don't see why the reverse should not be true.
Positives: Rooms are clean, general staff is cordial.
Negatives: Owner and managers irresponsible for actions of their associates.
