The lobby was a beautiful surprise when we entered. And the gentleman who checked us in was delightful. He not only upgraded our room but gave us a map,and many tips on what to see and how to get around. It made a wonderful difference in out trip!
Positives: The room was beautifully decorated! And we were upgraded to 2 beds without paying more!
Negatives: The pool was too cold for me. If there was a spa near the pool I would've enjoyed it more.

Affordable and clean and great/friendly staff. Nice amenities. The rooms are clean and spacious, but a bit worn/dated. The location is fine, but not as conveniently located to downtown as website led us to believe--it's actually across a bridge or light rail ride to city center.
Positives: The lobby and public spaces are very nice and the staff is fantastic.
Negatives: The add-ons (wireless: $12.95/day, parking: $18.95/day) were a bit much, and parking is such that unless you leave by 7a you're charged another day.

We chose the "large room" & it was larger than a typical room, which was nice. We were traveling w/ our 2 small children (5 yrs. & 21 mos.), so we needed a "pack & play" & room for our stroller, which is pretty big. Even with the kids' extra stuff, the room still felt roomy, which was a big bonus over a room we had last year through Priceline.
Positives: Very good service at breakfast. Our reservation included brkfast. Great food & service.
Negatives: You are definitely not in "downtown" Portland. We knew this when we reserved it though.

The Doubletree hotel was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The hotel had a nice, upscale feel to it and was conveniently located.
Positives: Central location, large room, and friendly staff.
Negatives: $18 parking fee.

Great location, friendly and knowledgeable desk staff. Room was of average cleanliness (curtains were sticky--hard to open). I left a shirt in the room, which the cleaning staff did not return to me.
Positives: Great location across from Lloyd Center.
Negatives: Cleaning staff didn't find my shirt that I left in the room.

This hotel is in a great location with very nice rooms, but apparently they lack the ability to enforce quiet hours and are insensitive to customers checking in (intentionally placing new check-ins on the floor they were forced to move other customers to new rooms in the dead of night because of the large drunken party that had been going on for atleast 2 days). Do you want to pack all your belongings at 2:30 in the morning to move to a new room when the hotel has two wings, one 6 stories and the other 10?
Positives: Location
Negatives: Inattention to managing room locations, (putting people checking in on floor they had to move people off.)

Great hotel. They simply did not take care of us when we needed it most. They put us on a floor with a group that rented the rest of the rooms and partied all night. My wife and I drove up for weekend getaway and ended up exhausted for the start of our work week. The hotel staff apologized for the situation, comped our parking, and gave us some cookies. I expected a free night stay. I will never go back.
Positives: The staff was nice.
Negatives: The customer service was poor.

Very comfortable, huge rooms with nice bedding. They gave us warm cookies upon arrival. And we walked across the street to catch the free light rail to downtown.
Positives: Comfortable bedding, warm cookies, and light rail was right outside.
Negatives: Had to pay for parking..

I have stayed at this hotel several times and I have always had a good experience. The staff is helpful and the rooms are very clean and modern. You can't beat that for the price. It is in a very convenient location in downtown Portland, without being right smack in the middle of it all. My only complaint is paying for the Internet. That is something that needs to go away.
Positives: Quality to price ratio is very good, nice staff and
Negatives: Paying for Internet.

So nice after traveling all day to get to this beautiful hotel and get greeted with a nice warm chocolate chip cookie! Check in was a breeze, room was nice and clean and very "green"
Positives: Very close to shopping.
Negatives: Noise from public transportation (train).

This is a no frills hotel. It was very blah. They need to think about whether they would want to stay there.
Positives: I thought the bed was comfortable. The room was clean.
Negatives: I thought the room was very bland and not particularly attractive. When you go to a hotel, you expect to be wowed a little a least.

This is a great hotel. Facilities were outstanding and with the deal we got, it was worth it and more. My only issue was that at the registration desk, our request for a double room was turned down.
Positives: Great facilities, great bed.
Negatives: Paying for internet,

Excellent value. I would stay at this location again. The staff was very attentive. The in-house security chief was very helpful with tips. The warm cookie at check-in was a nice touch and very tasty.
Positives: The concierges went out of their way to be extremely helpful.
Negatives: Can't think of anything.

I was ineligible for the continental breakfast. It would have been nice to see a discount coupon to eat at one of their establishments since I was unable to partake of the continental breakfast. Also, wasn't happy that I was unable to get points for staying with them.
Positives: Located next door to huge shopping mall & mass transit system.
Negatives: I could not get the free cont. breakfast or get points for staying.

The location of the hotel is pretty good, front desk staff are able to give good service. Room was pretty small and no good view. Yet the major thing was that the towel, pillows and the blanket had stains on them, some of which appeared to be bodily fluids which should be removed or not used for new customers, which very much were gross. For the same price at another hotel I can get breakfast free as well.
<BR/>
Positives: Location, safe parking, price.
Negatives: Room was small, solid bed liens, towels and pillows.

We had 3 people travelling so right after I booked on priceline I phoned the hotel to request for 2 double beds. (This was 2 months earlier) The hotel advised it was an additional $20 for a room with 2 double beds. I was fine with the additional charge and told them to add it to my booking. When we arrived at the hotel, they said all the rooms with 2 double beds were fully occupied. They gave us a small room with 1 double bed and a cot. The cot was literally right next to the bed with no room to walk through. Needless to say, the room was cramped and we were very disappointed that our request was not honored. I highly doubt all the rooms with 2 double beds were booked 2 months ahead when I phoned. We were very disappointed with the customer service we received.
Positives: The hotel was at a very good location with easy transportation.
Negatives: Cleanliness of the room.

While the location was ideal and the staff was friendly, we were taken unaware of the additional cost for television (even LOCAL!), internet access and parking. We did enjoy the free warm chocolate chip cookies at the checkin counter, but still left our stay feeling not completely satisfied.
Positives: Location to local transit (MAX)
Negatives: Hidden cost of TV/Internet/Parking

All great. No complaints except for the parking prices.
Positives: Friendly & clean, nice big rooms, very comfy beds.
Negatives: $18. a day for parking and in and out of the garage charges.

Very small queen bed just fit no room to move no windows to get fresh air, no bathtub only a small shower a type of room you would find at a 1 or 2 star such as travelogue but I've seen better than this room at travelogue or Red Roof.
Positives: The cookies.
Negatives: Room

This is a great hotel, but the staff was not very inviting, and the hot water in the room took 20minutes to get hot.
Positives: The rooms were quiet, and clean.
Negatives: The bathroom sink's hot water took 20minutes to get hot.

Check-in was easy enough, as was finding the room. Two of the lamps in the room had burnt out bulbs. When we left in the morning, there was an absolutely disgusting small pile of what honestly looked like cat puke in the hallway. There was no complimentary continental breakfast offered. I have attended many day conferences in this same hotel's space and my overall impression is that this hotel is tired and in some serious need of some deep maintenance.
Positives: Beautifully appointed public spaces.
Negatives: Shoddy upkeep.

Good place to stay. Clean and quiet if you are above the 5th floor. Bed was comfortable. TV reception was poor on several channels and not user friendly. Bathroom was clean and presented well. AC and heat were good.
Positives: Location is good to downtown and the Rose Garden/convention center.
Negatives: Next to a MAX station with lots of commotion and roving adolescents around.

Everything was very good except the hall temperature on the 10th floor and the room temperature. I want to be able to take off my coat when I get to my room, I couldn't do that. The room warmed up at about 8:30. We arrived at 3.
Positives: Wait staff in the restaurant was very friendly.
Negatives: The room was 50 degrees, way to cold upon arrival, took hours to make it habitable.

The bed was a full, not a queen. The windows did not open.
Positives: Nothing.
Negatives: Everything.

They charged $20 more for a bed, $20 more for parking, $10 more for internet and $20 more for a microwave. Then we wanted to stay a second night we were given no co-operation and when we ended up paying considerably more one of the employees told us we were cheap.
Positives: The room was spacious and beautiful.
Negatives: The staff was snotty.

The hotel had a convention that was not contained. The people were in the lobby making noise and mess, in elevators, dining etc. Our comfort and overall experience was ruined as a result of the hotel staff not planning the convention areas to meet the needs of other paying customers. Very bad and very disappointed.
Positives: Location was desired, room amenities were nice.
Negatives: Holding a convention in the lobby was a problem, dirty and impossible to use for others.

I had to pay an additional $18 for overnight parking.
Positives: The hotel was very attractive and across the street from Lloyd Center Shopping Mall.
Negatives: You have to pay $18 extra for parking.

We had a very good experience at the hotel. When we checked in, the staff was very friendly and even gave us welcome cookies, which were warm and delicious. He pulled them out from behind the counter, but they tasted fresh out of the oven. The room was very nice, parking attendants even friendly. Very good room service breakfast, too. We definitely felt valued as customers, and it was a great value for us as well.
Positives: Great guest service, very nice room, feels upscale but everyone is friendly.
Negatives: Parking was not included, about $20.
Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 21 Aug 2008 rated 9 out of 10.
Excellent access to public transportation and Light Rail. $18 cost for parking. Room for 2 people, even with only one bed, was quite small.
Positives: Close to Light Rail.
Negatives: Room felt closed in and tight.

We had a great stay. There were two different conventions and a wedding at the time we were there and we were not bothered by any of the huplah surrounding that. Staff stayed calm and accommodating to ourselves and all guests.
Positives: Very kind staff.
Negatives: I left a note for additional coffee and none was left by housekeeping.

I like live music a lounge or club in my hotel so I dont have to live at night. This hotel did not have entertainment.
Positives: The warm cookies at check in.
Negatives: No club or lounge with music.

The room was small but well-appointed. Comfortable bed. A water leak from the ceiling was reported by us, then we left for 2 hours. It was still there by bedtime (12 am). Reported again. No one to fix it until next day, so slept without air conditioning for several hours. Finally they fixed it in time for us to check out. The front office gave us 2 breakfast buffets and covered our parking to make up for this.
Positives: Front desk staff was very accommodating and solicitous.
Negatives: There was a ceiling leak in our room. Reported, returned - not fixed; reported again - finally fixed by end of stay.
Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 13 Aug 2008 rated 8 out of 10.
Nice hotel. Staff was also very nice. Lots of hustle and bustle around. Since it is a conference centre, the vacation stay made it feel like work. Good idea to have the parking lot monitored with attendant. Overall, good experience.
Positives: Comfortable.
Negatives: Hustle bustle.
