Comfortable and nicely appointed, though the first room was on the small side and we were moved to a larger room. The pool/spa was very nice and much appreciated. Would stay here easily again.

Positives: Attractive and comfortable.

Negatives: No free Wi-Fi in rooms.

Overall the hotel was OK. It was a great location and the Concierge and Valet folks were awesome.

Positives: Great Location.

Negatives: The front desk staff were not very professional!

Nice, but not in any way sound-proof. I was surprised by how much I could hear from the hallway and both adjacent rooms.

Positives: Very clean, cool view!

Negatives: It was noisy; my noise complaint was met with indifference in the morning.

Great location; easy walking distance to all areas of the Downtown area.

Positives: Quick check in-friendly staff.

Negatives: Nothing.

The room was unexceptional, not large at all. The bath was nicely appointed but again very small, almost no counter space. Then they nickel and dime you for things like Wi-Fi. It is an old fashioned chain with old fashioned practices.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Very limited counter space in bathroom, charge for Wi-Fi & parking.

The Hilton is a multi story landmark among the tall buildings in downtown Portland, OR. It has a restaurant on the first floor famous for business people meeting over lunch or dinner, and, of course, for people staying at the hotel. The rooms have been updated with comfortable beds, sitting areas, and bathrooms. The front desk staff, concierge, and housekeeping met my needs and were polite.

Positives: The view from the tower room, the proximity of the hotel to downtown, and the staff.

Negatives: The bathroom is a bit small, but refurbished nicely, and quite adequate for me as a single traveler.

Close to so many wonderful attractions on downtown Portland. Loved the friendliness, comfort, and accessibility.

Positives: Loved the location, comfort, and friendly staff.

Negatives: Expensive parking.

Great location, room was nice efficient use of space, great view I am very happy with my experience and hope to stay again.

Positives: Great location, very clean, nice gym and pool area unable to use this time.

Negatives: Two Queen beds. While staff was pleasant you had to engage in order to get a smile or a greeting.

The location was great, but on a Friday night it was hard to park in front for the valet. There was no WiFi, which I thought would come standard in all hotels these days since I can pay two dollars for a coffee and use the WiFi or sit outside for free. The bathrooms were tiny but nice. I loved the clean white sheets! It was excellently decorated with simplicity.

Positives: Clean white sheets friendly staff.

Negatives: No free WiFi. Small bathroom. Expensive valet.

This was my first personal stay at a 3.5, and while the location and view were amazing I found myself underwhelmed with the overall experience. The valet who greeted us was courteous, even after I informed I was a self-park guest. Check-in was super efficient, but a couple of things happened: we couldn't find a concierge to help point us in the direction of dinner, and then the room quality -- there was a dead spider on the floor, the drain in the tub had been pulled out so I couldn't take a bath, and there was a horrible draft on one side of the room. I had to get up in the middle of the night and turn the fan up to high [with the temperature turned to high] because it got so cold. The view was fabulous, though, and overall it felt like a treat for my 14 year old daughter, girl, time to celebrate her birthday.

Positives: Very friendly housekeeper greeted me and offered needed supply without guilt!

Negatives: Dead spider in my bathroom, jacked up bathroom drain, very drafty/poor HVAC.

Very nice hotel and
good location.

Positives: The bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get out of it. Lots of pillows.

Negatives: Spaces in the underground self park are small. Tough with our F150.

This hotel has excellent downtown location within shorts blocks of best shopping, theater and restaurants. Big, convention type facility; yet, offers modern, clean, quiet rooms for escape from the maddening crowds. Highly recommended!

Positives: Excellent, comfortable bed!

Negatives: Small, limited counter space in bathroom.

The staff was very professional and everyone was friendly & pleasant from reception to the restaurant to the cleaning staff. The room was very nicely appointed, had everything you’d need, and was immaculate. And the hotel is so convenient to everything downtown. The MAX line (light rail) is 1 block away - I took the MAX across the river to the convention center in 10 minutes for free (the convention center is on the edge of the downtown no-fare zone). From there it’s another 15 minutes or so down the same line to the airport. There couldn’t be a better location for a hotel in Portland.

Positives: Super convenient location, downtown, MAX stop 1 block away.

Negatives: Can't think of anything.

I would stay here anytime, hope to get back there soon with my daughter who will enjoy the close proximity to shopping. Also close to museum's and great restaurants.

Positives: Great downtown location. The room was clean and nicely appointed, great view of hills to the west of Portland.

Negatives: Nothing to share.

Very difficult to get to hotel due to downtown location and all one way streets surrounding it. Parking at $20 per day was outrageous. Spotty WiFi Internet coverage in hotel. Bathrooms are tiny.

Positives: Not much.

Negatives: Spotty WiFi coverage, exorbitant parking charges, difficult location in downtown and vagrants right outside hotel.

However, the accounting dept. has been very helpful once I was directed to them to solve this problem. Hopeful my problem gets resolved. (The staff is very nice, but I wish they were able to solve my problem when when I first inquired about it while still in Portland).

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: No free breakfast.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 15 Jun 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

We stayed there one day ahead before Rose Parade. Surprisingly the hotel prepares chairs for customers, and has our name on the spot that we want. (However, we'll need to get up early to say which spot we prefer.)

Positives: Clean room and environment.

Negatives: Didn't expect to bring a swim ring for my kid; internet is not free.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 07 Jun 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

Better than the 4 star hotel we stayed at the week prior in Portland. Though it cost more it was worth it!

Positives: Clean and big.

Negatives: Nothing

This hotel was fantastic for my husband and I. When the receptionist heard it was our Anniversary she sent up a complimentary bottle of wine. Having a fridge (not mini bar) was fantastic, we were able to bring some of our own beverages. The staff was helpful guiding us around town. The room had an umbrella for our use in rainy Portland. It was a fantastic weekend.

Positives: Beautiful room, location, and price.

Negatives: Had to pay for parking so it didn't feel like I got as good of a price as I hoped.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 18 May 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

The staff was particularly good and really made us feel like we were the only guests, even though the hotel was sold out that night. They even sent a bottle of wine and fruit and cheese plate to our room for our anniversary.

Positives: Excellent value for high quality hotel.

Negatives: Room was somewhat small.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 18 May 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

Hotel was nice, staff great, cable TV selection, and paying for internet know days is a joke when there is a Starbucks across the street that has free internet.

Positives: Staff was great.

Negatives: Paying $10 a day for internet is a joke!

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 13 May 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

Nice hotel but you have to pay to access the internet.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Fee for internet access.

Positives: The staff was outstanding.

Negatives: Parking was expensive.

I'd rather write a review of your horrid customer service.

Positives: Not much.

Negatives: Old fashioned, cramped room.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 13 Apr 2010 rated 3 out of 10.

The parking garages would not fit my full sized truck so we had to park on the street and feed the parking meter every 90 minutes. I asked the staff if my truck would fit, and they had no idea and we almost got stuck in a garage made for compact cars. Staff should know the limitations of the garages owned by the hotel, as we almost damaged our vehicle. The room was so small and cramped that we could hardly fit in it. You had to turn sideways and squeeze between the bed & wall to get to the ice and water that were on the windowsill. We thought the room was a former closet.
Positives: Beds were comfortable.

Negatives: Terrible parking nightmare and cramped room.

The downtown Portland Hilton has a wonderful location with great staff. The room was very clean and the the bed was delightful The view was typical and I feel that Priceline provided a very fair price.

Positives: Hotel staff was professional, helpful and very friendly.

Negatives: Room was okay, not great.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one night. The location was awesome. We were upgraded to the property across the street from the Hilton itself. I believe it was called the executive or something. All in all great place to stay. Big room, short walk to the MAX (free light rail downtown). The one weird thing about the room was no fan in the bathroom. Other than that, exceptional.

Positives: The location is fantastic!

Negatives: The hotel has wireless internet, but for a fee. The business center consists of one computer in the lobby you have to pay to use.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 25 Nov 2009 rated 3 out of 10.

Rooms were nicely decorated, very nice linens, great view of the city. The room was quite crowded and only had double beds, not queen sized. There was a non disclosed 10$ per day fee to use the gym, pool was free. Great location. Parking was hard to locate, but was well lit and safe. Concierge was a jerk. The concierge desk was often not manned. I will not stay at this Hilton again, I was treated as if they were doing me a favor.

Positives: Nice linens.

Negatives: Disdainful staff. Sent me on long walk in the rain to a restaurant that does not admit under 18 after 5 pm. I was traveling with a 13 and 15 year.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 18 Nov 2009 rated 8 out of 10.

Great location and was
very central. Rooms were plain, but was functional. The gym was open late on the weekend which was frustrating. Beautiful lobby, and a helpful staff.

Positives: The lobby was beautiful.

Negatives: The gym didn't open until 8am on the weekend.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 18 Nov 2009 rated 4 out of 10.

The hotel was fine.

Positives: The restaurant had good food.

Negatives: We were put into a handicap room and with less than appealing accommodations.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 17 Nov 2009 rated 9 out of 10.

It was a nice experience. Personnel were very helpful with suggestions, direction and knowledge.

Positives: Willingness to make helpful suggestions.

Negatives: Getting 2 rooms together on different floors, it was worked out without problems

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 18 Oct 2009 rated 5 out of 10.

Very disappointing for a Hilton. Showers that back up, extremely small and outdated rooms, even street noise from the 20th floor. No free parking, Internet, microwave or refrigerator, there wouldn't be room for those anyway. Nice location in Downtown. You can park for half the price in a parking garage just around the corner.

Positives: Close to excellent dining.

Negatives: $20.00/day for parking.
