I was not pleased at all with this hotel. Being as it was rated 2.5 stars, I was expecting something like a holiday Inn express. Fail!! We did not get a good night sleep. The hotel also charged us extra because we requested 2 queen beds. Definitely would not stay here again. Besides the bed being soft and misshapen, the comforter was frayed and the pillows were horrendous. The room had an old ratty air-conditioner stuck in the wall above the front door. You could only get cool if you stood in the hallway by the door. Even though we had the air on high cool, we were hot and sweaty all night. Very disappointed!

Positives: The room had modern furniture.

Negatives: The bed linens were old and frayed. The mattress was horrible as were the pillows. The room had an old in-wall type air conditioner that either kept.

They had done a face lift, so things looked nicer on the surface, but it was incredibly bare bones. There were two sinks (one in and outside the shower/toilet area) and only one bar of soap provided for all three areas, no extra pillows or blankets were available in the room. The A/C unit was hard to figure out and very loud. I did like that it had a fridge (not just a mini bar).

Positives: Convenient location off freeway, breakfast buffet was pretty good for $5.

Negatives: "Non-smoking" hotel, but bathroom reeked like stale cigarette smoke in am. Door didn't close all the way on it's own.

This hotel for the most part would rate 3 stars, clean rooms and nice amenities, great shower, and very comfortable beds. The main reason that I gave it fewer stars is that to save money they have the Hilton do their laundry, which is OK except that the diesel engine truck with the drop down lift gate making all kinds of noise, picks up the laundry at 10:15 at night. And the pickup location is completely surrounded by rooms. Each night we were awakened with the sound of the engine, banging of the lift gate up and down and as a final shot, beep beep beep as it backs up. I am not pleased that they think it is more important to save money than to take care of their customers.

Positives: Great shower and bed.

Negatives: Laundry pick up at 10 PM.

The rooms and public areas were very clean. New beds, although a bit too hard for me. Fresh linens and nice big TV although none of the buttons worked on the remote except the volume, channel, mute and off/on. No CC and no last plus no directory or guide on screen.

Positives: Nice fresh bedding. Good location and

Negatives: The pool area was clean although needing regret on the spa.

The service and staff at this hotel is really friendly and accommodating.

Positives: The staff was one of the best I have seen.

Negatives: Feel breakfast should e provided.

Friendly staff and
clean room.

Positives: Very spacious room.

Negatives: TV's are old.

This hotel was nothing like I expected from the pictures. All rooms open up to the outside. It's pet friendly so dogs were barking on and off. It had a very old and stale feel about it so the pictures must have been taken years ago. Also, there isn't an elevator so you have to lug your bags upstairs. They did offer to help with that, however. I would not stay here again.

Positives: The bathroom seemed newly renovated.

Negatives: Noisy, right off highway. Loud air conditioner. Could hear everything going on outside.

The Red Lion Hotel was very luxurious considering the star rating and the price. A nice stay for travelling through Eugene, though I would have liked to stay there for much longer. My stay was thoroughly enjoyed by me, my daughter, and our little dog.

Positives: The room was very spacious and bright. We had a view straight out into the gorgeous courtyard.

Negatives: The carpet was slightly stained in certain places.

Helpful staff and cleanest room I've had for the price and star level.

Positives: Clean, pet-friendly, great deal for the money and centrally located.

Negatives: Wished breakfast buffet had a few more options.

This hotel is actually a motel and our stay started with a bad experience. When we opened the door to the room we were assigned we found personal belongings of someone else. They had assigned us an occupied room, on top of it, the room looked very ugly. The second room they assigned us was on the second floor and has a much better layout than the first one.

Positives: The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Negatives: The layout, it is actually a motel with the rooms aligned in rows with parking spots in front.

With some renovation on the exterior of the hotel, this facility could be revived, room was nice and cozy.

Positives: Inside the room was nice, clean and big.

Negatives: Outside of the hotel looks 100 years old. looks like motel 6.

Great room, but we were given a room at the far end of the complex. Heavy rains made it difficult to go to facilities (pool, bar, continental breakfast) without getting soaked. Puddles over the sidewalks. Otherwise, it was a nice experience.

Positives: Great continental breakfast.

Negatives: Difficult layout. Hard to access all features of the hotel.

Although it is a Red Lion, it is not close in quality to the other chain hotels I have visited. In particular, my room had such a heavy deodorant smell that I had to leave the sliding window open for 2 hours. The housekeeping department missed the wire hanger stuck on the easy chair foot and the already filled out menu from a different guest on my bed.

Positives: The front desk staff.

Negatives: Remnants of former guests on the floor and bed of my room.

For the price, this was a good deal. Staff was friendly, Room was very nice, however, the AC shuts off during the night (2 AM) and restarts around 6:30 AM (making the room very uncomfortable).

Positives: Room exceeded the exterior appearance.

Negatives: Exterior appearance.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 30 Jul 2009 rated 8 out of 10.

Rooms clean and very comfortable beds -- large beds, but very noisy air conditioner. Exterior, old dingy, and very dirty. Parking lot had lots of liter.

Positives: Large room, refrigerator, microwave, and close to grocery store.

Negatives: Noisy pool, karaoke in bar kept me awake.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 23 Jul 2009 rated 1 out of 10.

Filthy, dingy room, with a busted door lock, dirty pool and food crumbs from the last guest. Stains on the carpet and chairs, room overlooked the freeway. Pool was out of the question. Room smelled weird. Like a combo of smoke, air freshener and mildew.

Positives: The bed.

Negatives: Filthy, scary location.

The hotel should be called a motel as you drive up to the rooms rather than rooms in one location. Clean rooms and good food at the restaurant.

Positives: Clean rooms and good food at the restaurant.

Negatives: The hotel should be called a motel as you drive up to the rooms rather than rooms in one location.

This is a 2 star at best and when we got there they gave us a room that wasn't even cleaned. The cable in the next room didn't work and the hotel was very out of date.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: Dirty rooms.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 28 Apr 2009 rated 5 out of 10.

For a quick stay this is not a bad option if you don't care about quality. If you like an attractive room with nice sheets and towels this is not the place. It was listed as a 3 star and at most I would give it two stars. The drunken karaoke in the lobby when I checked in should have been an omen of what was to come.

Positives: Easy access to downtown.

Negatives: The rooms were dark and ugly - it felt like a cheap motel with bad sheets.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 13 Apr 2009 rated 8 out of 10.

It is an average hotel found in a business section of Eugene, not too far from campus. I stayed because of their shuttle to the airport - worked great. For a clean, average hotel, this is a keeper.

Positives: Rooms were nice/clean. Shuttle service delivered.

Negatives: Got wet moving from room to front desk - no way to stay dry in rain.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 09 Mar 2009 rated 6 out of 10.

Good location close to lots of good shopping and food. But 4 out of the 5 times I have stayed here I had problems with noise of people coming and going and being loud outside the rooms.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: I found a bug on my pillow case when I got ready for bed. You hear every little thing.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 09 Mar 2009 rated 9 out of 10.

We had a great stay with them.

Positives: Very nice rooms.

Negatives: Located in a very busy part of town right by the interstate.

We had good service, room was spacious, nicely furnished, clean and really soft beds!

Positives: Clean rooms, great, soft beds, quiet

Negatives: Needs an outside update, looks old and worn on outside.

This hotel gets a bad rap but it is not completely justified. For a 3 star hotel it is a failure. It is a motel/motor lodge not an upscale hotel.
It is a pretty nice motel and motor lodge and for a 2 star location I would rank it higher. In the end it was clean and the location was good.

Positives: Location was decent.

Negatives: Not a 3 star hotel, more of a 1 or 2 star motor lodge.
