White Pines Golf Course ( Sports / Activity / Golf ). Located at 1640 County Road 2, Swanton, 2 miles from the center of Neapolis. The golf course design is by Mike Mueller (Ed’s and Karen’s cousin), owner of Valley View Farms Golf Course in Saginaw, Michigan. Ed Spatz is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Turf Grass and Soil Management. Prior to White Pines, Ed was the Superintendent for 12 years of Auglaize County Club in the Defiance, Ohio area. Karen Gerken is also a graduate of Michigan State University and worked for 15 years as a Sales Representative for VWR International. Peter Gerken currently works for Napoleon Area Schools.
