Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a campsite / RV park located in Medora.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park - Theodore Roosevelt first came to the badlands in September 1883 on a hunting trip. While here he became interested in the cattle business and invested in the Maltese Cross Ranch. He returned the next year and established the Elkhorn Ranch. Years later he stated several times, "I never would have been President if it had not been for my experiences in North Dakota." South Unit and Juniper in the North Unit. Juniper and Cottonwood Campgrounds accommodate tents, trailers and recreational vehicles. No hook-ups are available. Check out time is 12 noon. Camping fees are non-refundable and are $10 per night per site. $5 per night per site for Golden Access and Golden Age card holders. Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days per year. Campsites are available on a first come, first served basis.

A group campsite is also available in both Juniper and Cottonwood Campgrounds. Reservations are accepted.

The Roundup Camp is a group site that can accomodate one group at a time. Horses are permitted at this campground. Maximum group size is 20 people with 20 horses or 30 people without horses. Minimum group size is 6 people. Groups are limited to 5 nights during a calendar year. Reservations are accepted.

Campsites are available on a first come, first serve basis. Only the group campsite can be reserved. To demonstrate your occupancy, display your envelope stub on the campsite post. Occupancy of any one site is limited to 6 persons and 2 vehicles. Do not tie ropes or tent lines to trees or structures.
