Staff and location were very good; room size with 2 double beds was a bit cramped.

Negatives: Room size.

I would go back. I left in the morning and didn't return until night. Place was booked but I didn't hear others.
Positives: It was clean, friendly, in a good location. Liked the continental breakfast. Liked having a fridge.
Negatives: The outside door to my room was difficult to close.

With the seasonal decorations and the warm fire going all day, it was a delight to come back to the hotel. Since I was very busy, I was sad I didn't have more time to lounge by the fire and enjoy the complimentary hot cider. The staff were friendly, but seemed over-worked. The breakfast area was a clean and cheerful place to start the day. I would definitely recommend this to folks heading to the Outer Banks year round.
Positives: Well-tended, lovely fire in the lobby and hot cider in the afternoons was very appreciated! Nice feel to the place.
Negatives: Room was sufficient, but not spacious.

This hotel is great for a laid back vacation. Is conveniently located near several area attractions, restaurants and is only a minute walk to the beach. Has a very friendly staff with a very cozy feel to the whole hotel.
Positives: Very nice place, location was excellent, very helpful and friendly staff.
Negatives: Parking lot a bit too small.

My husband and I and our 6 month old stayed 1 night June 5th on our way to Corolla Beach. It's clean, cozy, and unique. Rooms are small but comfy. Enough room fora pack n play in between our 2 double beds. Great location. I would stay again. Breakfast was simple but free!
Positives: Beds were very comfortable. Fridge and Microwave in room.
Negatives: Very small room and stand up shower, no tub for bathing baby.

Positives: Large and roomy front office area; very clean and large breakfast area. Located about 50 yards from ocean and very centrally located for local attractions.
Negatives: NA.

We enjoyed our stay because the hotel was so close to the beach front with easy walking access. The rooms were quite dark, and a lot of noise from neighboring rooms. Also the cleaning staff in the am was loud. The front desk was very helpful and also very cheerful. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked.
Positives: The proximity to the beach and other tourist activities was perfect.
Negatives: The rooms were dark, the towels were very small and thin, no amenities.

Much nicer than the typical Days Inn. Quality rooms (although small) with interior entrance. Better than average breakfast area.
Positives: Nice public spaces & breakfast area.
Negatives: Small rooms.

The hotel is older - actually has a quaint '40s rustic feel. The rooms are small. Ours had two full size beds but they were jammed up against a window on one and the wall on the other, making it inconvenient for the one person to get out of during the night.
Positives: Complimentary breakfast and rocking chairs on porch were nice.
Negatives: Room was very small.

Hotel was efficient and a good price. Room was a bit small, but had been recently renovated. Linens weren't very nice and room was rather dark, so if you are going to be spending a lot of time in the room, I wouldn't recommend it. However, it was very close to the beach and local restaurants, so overall it was okay.
Positives: Room had been updated with new flooring, paint, TV, fridge and flooring in bath.
Negatives: Scratchy sheets, not very much natural light, and room was small.

Lovely hotel. Patrons must go to local YMCA for fitness center and that was inconvenient.
Positives: Comfortable room, spacious common areas.
Negatives: Lock on room door loose, unsecured.

Positives: Nice swimming pool.
Negatives: Not being advised of no pet poly.

Overall was a very nice place. Would stay again. Just didn't care to much for check in times when you travel from far away. I live seven hours away and had to waste all day before checking in.
Positives: Convenient to beach and rooms were clean.
Negatives: The breakfast setting and the check in times if you have to be out by eleven why you cant check in until four.

It was very basic. The room was tiny and had two double beds that need updated mattresses. The bedspread had a burn hole in it although it was a non-smoking room. It is on the beach so vacuuming needs to be part of the daily cleaning but wasn't done daily. I wouldn't stay there again, especially if I had any children with me, due to the tiny room.
Positives: It was on the beach.
Negatives: The room was so small you couldn't set up the suitcase holder and still get to the bathroom.

I love the hotel location. However, it rained every day we were there, didn't get to take the kids out very much. Was not happy that the maid did not clean the room very well. When they did clean, they did not dump all of our trash or replace the bathroom items needed. I had to ask the manager for toilet tissue. The laundry facility was ok, only one washer and dryer, the washer went out of service before we left, so we had a lot of wet clothes to carry home on our 6 hour drive. But having the facility for the guests was a plus.
Positives: Hotel was right on the beach, efficiency was wonderful to keep food costs down.
Negatives: Maid service was not performed to the best of their ability; room was still dirty after service.

Horribly small rooms, which smell like funk and mildew. No gym onsite, but they do give you passes to the YMCA, which is 3 miles away. The direct access to the beach is great, but then there is sand all over the hotel. The back doors are wide open all night long and there were always random people and housekeeping banging our door. Worst of all, the maintenance staff is pretty redneck and socially backwards. When I asked to have my safe repaired, it took two days. Two service employees came to fix it, but when the one man saw that I was in the process of putting a shirt on, and my roommate was in bed, I guess the homo flag went up and he refused to come into my room. Normally, I don't play into those homo discrimination games, but this was a very bad experience which I am considering reporting to Days Inn. When I commented to the one employee that her coworker was a little too shy to come in, she told me that he was a little slow. It was not a case of him not wanting to enter guests' rooms, since he mentioned meeting the other employee in a room down the hall. All in all, this is one hotel which I will never stay in again.
Positives: Direct beach access.
Negatives: Everything. Horrible staff and tiny room.

My husband and I had a great trip to the Outer Banks, the hotel really didn't have much to do with this. Our room was so small that we couldn't even fit our suitcase. We had to unpack and then run the suitcase back to the car for the week. Our room was dirty and it smelled really bad. Before we went I read that the hotel was recently remodeled. I would be very curious as to their definition of recently. The hotel did have a good location, but if I had to do it over again I would pay a little more money and stay in a different hotel nearby. I typically am a fan of Days Inn but this building needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt.
Positives: The location was great. We loved being right next to the beach.
Negatives: The room was unbearable small and dirty. The mildew smell was horrible and we saw black mold on the ceiling and wall paper.

The location was very good. the beach was right behind it. the pool was nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was very good. the location was great. Milepost 8 is about the middle of the main area there. It was close to everything. Compared to other hotels I have stayed at there in the past, this was certainly as good or better than some.
Positives: Location. Close to beach. Close to everything.
Negatives: Rooms were on the small side.

Trash, felt like a flashback to the mid 70's.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: Bathroom.

The hotel was very clean and had very friendly staff. Very convenient to the beach. The double room was so small, we were very uncomfortable during our stay. The bathroom had no shelf or counter space. Overall, the much smaller than average size of the room, affected our overall stay in quite a negative way. Otherwise would have been perfect!
Positives: Very clean rooms and friendly staff.
Negatives: Incredibly smaller than average room size!

We asked a room for 2 adults and two children. They gave us an 8 x 8 cell with one bed. We literally had trouble opening the bathroom door. It kept hitting the foot of the bed.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: Size of room.

Great little quaint old beach hotel. Cool little walkway right out to the beach. Neat little chairs outside each room.
Positives: Great location for the beach.
Negatives: There were some bugs or knats flying around in the room when we checked in. however, they went away later and the hotel offered us another room.

Very disappointed with the National Chain hotel. Room smelled moldy & of mildew. Very cramped & uncomfortable. Needed upgrading desperately! Beach access was awesome, that was this hotel's only saving grace. Front desk staff were efficient, polite & friendly.
Positives: Great beach access.
Negatives: Room was very small, internal hallway room (didn't know that is what I was getting). Room smelled moldy/mildew.
