Very nice hotel with a great location.

Positives: Great downtown location, nice rooms, lobby, pool, and exercise room.

Negatives: The front desk staff was brief and did not offer much information about the facilities of the hotel.. The room also had no map/ information.

Extremely pleased with this hotel. We were afraid that we would get a second class room, but, our room was excellent on the 4th floor. Our next trip will be booked through Priceline.

Positives: Luxurious surroundings, walking to all attractions in the city of Asheville.

Negatives: Very little activity within the bar or restaurants.

Top of the line Marriott, mostly for the business traveler but also excellent for a stay with just the spouse. Modern, recently remodeled.

Positives: Location is great.

Negatives: Noise from ceiling in bedroom.

This is a slightly older, but well maintained high rise hotel in downtown Asheville. Excellent views of the mountain terrain. Historical Downtown location. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Helpful with maps and recommendations for local activities and restaurants. Wide screen HDTV in the rooms with cable.

Positives: Located Downtown, easily walk to multiple local owned restaurants. Staff went out of their way to recommend restaurants by type of food.

Negatives: No complaints.

The location was great. The room was nice, except for the stained carpet. They charged $75 for a small pet - you'd think charging that kind of money they would clean the carpet. Other than that the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Charged too much for a pet.

Walking distance to downtown and free WiFi.

Negatives: Can't put thermostat below 65 degrees & they charge you to use the phone (but don't tell you).

The Renaissance was a very nice hotel; the staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean and stylish. However, we thought it might have a little more character and history behind it than it turned out to have. It simply lacked the comfort and ambiance we experienced at the hotel we stayed at previously in Asheville. Also, we didn't like that there were skimpy coffee supplies for only one person in our double room- a little odd for a hotel of its reputation.

Positives: The location.

Negatives: Not completely comfortable/lacking ambiance.

Very good stay. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Great location in Asheville. Pretty much 10 minutes from anything you would want to do.

Positives: Location, view, ease of use.

Negatives: Rooms are very small. Some upgrades need to be made.

First of all, I am always pleased with my purchases with Priceline. This was my first experience that was a little on the down side. I didn't really like this particular hotels bathroom setup. It was small for the room. The tube had a large chip in the porcelain. The water pressure was very low. And the water coming out was loud; like a buzz coming from the pipes. But most of all the tube itself had a bazarre shape to the floor of the tub. The floor was curved, almost convave if you will, to guide the water to the drain. It made it difficult to stand because your feet weren't on a flat surface. It felt very small as well.

Positives: Marriott is always a good deal for the money.

Negatives: Small bathroom, water pressure very low, tub an odd shape making it difficult to maneuver in.

Positives: Mini frig, coffee, staff, clean.

Negatives: HVAC rattled loud enough to awake me each time, water temp swings while in shower for each of us, hair dryer died, alarm was set not by me.

Very good selection if visiting the Biltmore estate.

Positives: Within walking distance of the many attractions & restaurants in downtown.

Negatives: Only one packet of coffee and tea and machine broke down the second morning of our stay.

I<BR/>took a bath, looking over the whole inside of the toilet was black, there were holes in the bottom of the sheets. I left a ring there, didn't get it back.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Dirty toilets and sheets torn.

Really clean, great staff, pool was sizable and quiet. The locker room next to the pool was really great as well. Right in downtown Asheville, and we walked to a couple of the restaurants in just a few minutes. Just a great experience overall. Since we used Priceline, it was an amazing deal. 4 star convenience for a 2 star price!

Positives: Excellent staff. Great about answering questions, giving directions, etc.

Negatives: Bar area a bit small to really relax and enjoy.

Very nice hotel with great location. Typical for no breakfast included, prices a bit high to order breakfast at hotel. Good for a one-night stay which we needed. We walked downtown and had a wonderful meal with a short walk back.

Positives: Easy walk from hotel to restaurants, downtown.

Negatives: Room was a little crowded between beds and dresser.

This is a wonderful hotel to stay in. It is very close to all the attractions downtown, but it isn't on an extremely busy street. The room was clean and smelled good. The beds were super comfortable. The bathroom was a little small, but clean.

Positives: Very clean, updated and nice, &amp; convenient location.

Negatives: No complaints.

This hotel was nice. It was clean and had a great pool and workout area. The only thing about the hotel I didn't like is it's located in an adult town. There wasn't a lot for the kid's to do.

Positives: This was a very nice hotel located in a nice area.

Negatives: There was nothing I didn't like.

I used to live in Asheville, so I am very familiar with the city. This was my first hotel stay in Asheville, and I was delighted to stay in downtown. The hotel was close to my family in North Asheville and also enabled me to walk around downtown. Free parking at a downtown hotel is a plus! The rooms are not huge, but I didn't feel cramped. When we returned to the hotel on our first night, the AC made a horrible noise. I wanted to go to complain but my husband wanted to wait until morning. The noise got so bad that at 4:20 AM my husband went downstairs and complained. The person at the desk was very friendly and relocated us to a new room: a large suite (since I wasn't having any problem sleeping, I stayed in the noisy room until morning, but my husband moved immediately). The suite was huge and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the following night, my parent's room had an AC problem. I guess that is par for the course at that hotel. Aside from the AC issue, the hotel was great. I'd stay there again.

Positives: Location! Staff was efficient and friendly.

Negatives: AC in our first room was noisy. My parents also had a problem with AC.

It was well away from the I-75 corridor and we were passing through. We were able to walk just a few blocks for some nice dining and had we been staying in Asheville for any length of time I would think that this is a good location to see the city from.

Positives: Within walking distance of many restaurants and shops.

Negatives: No complimentary breakfast.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 06 May 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

Hotel is in a good location as it is in walking distance of downtown. The staff was friendly. The elevators did not always line up with the floor so be careful. My room was nice but cramped very narrow.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Room was cramped elevators uneven at floor.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 30 Mar 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

Rooms were significantly smaller than expected. Bathroom size was unacceptable for more than one traveler. Bed was not as comfortable as advertised. Would not use this hotel again as a romantic getaway, but would absolutely recommend for a business traveler.

Positives: Television was nice.

Negatives: Hotel did not meet expectations.

Great downtown Asheville location. I love to walk in Asheville and it was nice not to have to drive. There were several events at the hotel during my stay so parking was at a premium. Hotel guests should be guaranteed a parking space. I refused to pay for internet access at $10 per day.

Positives: Walking distance to downtown shopping and restaurants.

Negatives: No free wireless internet. Come on, Marriott, get with the times!

Overall this is a very nice hotel, rooms are comfortable, although a bit cramped.

Positives: Comfortable beds.

Negatives: WiFi should be free in a hotel of this calibre.
