It is conveniently located to where we have to go. It is nicely kept and the people are very nice to talk with. It is an older motel, but our room did not have a musty smell or anything of that sort. We all had a nice stay.

Positives: I like the cleanliness of the room. The hospitality was good and we had an overall good stay.

Negatives: The pool isn't open. As many times as we have been there, it is never open.

I wouldn't go again. Felt I couldn't walk barefoot in bedroom...dirty and creepy.

Positives: Very friendly young man at the desk in the morning.

Negatives: Dirty, not a good walk to Village.

Nice, clean room for a good price in a nice area.

Positives: Clean room and good location to attractions.

Negatives: Courtyard was not taken care of, double locks made it safe but cumbersome and the microwave broke.

I ended up paying more for this 2 star. Old hotel. I didn't have any options of changing my selection. I would have most definitely used Priceline - it was just so limited. I probably will never use it again.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Cold common areas. Difficult to get to room. Had to drive to front desk. Old.

Howard Johnson's is an old hotel chain, but the hotel was fine for my business travel needs. It now has interior hallways and a nice breakfast which is included. The room was huge and very quiet.

Positives: The rooms were much larger than rooms nowadays.

Negatives: The hallways were bleak.

I would stay there again if it was the only hotel in my price range that I could find in the Asheville area. The hotel was clean inside the room, but the hallways were dark and scary. I would not feel safe staying there if my husband had not of been with me. We did not like that we had to travel through downtown Asheville to get to where we were going each day. We only travel to Asheville to see our son in school at Mars Hill and this hotel is not convenient to the expressway heading north.

Positives: Cheap and the room itself was clean.

Negatives: Dark scary halls, smoke from another room coming into our room, loud, not convenient for us.

For the price per night I was very disappointed with the hotel overall.
A wonderful Restaurant almost next door were the only highlights. Broken coffee pot in room, uncomfortable bed. Description of hotel stated microwave and refrigerator in room. I didn't have a microwave. Room was at the end of a very long, musty and
dark hallway. I paid for location, not quality.

Positives: Convenient to Blue Ridge Parkway.

Negatives: Unimpressed with hotel. Old dated. Thin walls.

Only thing good about hotel was its location and close proximity to Biltmore and hospital desk staff not very friendly or helpful.

Positives: Location to Biltmore.

Negatives: Room keys; separate keys for main door and hotel room keys a big pain.

The hotel was clean - staff was friendly - it was very close to our destination - the pool was not available for use - no water.

Positives: Close to our destination and restaurants.

Negatives: Swimming pool was not open - no water.

Was impressed with the hospitality of the check-in staff and the friendly housekeeping staff. Was clean and well appointed, although it would have been nice to have a small microwave to go with the fridge. Other than that it was wonderful. Will stay again when in the area.

Positives: Comfortable and in a great location.

Negatives: Continental breakfast was space. Would have liked to see a waffle station or something besides cereal and danish and toast.

This hotel was clean but very old. Everything is from the 70's. Strange layout. Breakfast was less than average for a hotel.

Positives: Convenient to Mission Hospital.

Negatives: Very old hotel with old furniture.

We spent two nights at Howard Johnson/Baltimore and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is really close to the entrance to Baltimore. We ate breakfast at their restaurant both mornings and the food and service were excellent. I love the no pets and no smoking rooms.

Great location. Old building. Hallways smelled funny but rooms were ok. Queen size beds a plus.

Positives: Convenient location.

Negatives: Old. Sliding door to patio had to be put back on track and seemed to let a lot of cold air in all though room temp was good with heat on.
