Coromandel Cuisine Of India ( Dining / Indian ). Located at 30 Division Street, New Rochelle, 2 miles from the center of Pelham. The south east coast of the Indian Peninsula is called 'Coromandel coast. The English interpretation of Chola Mandalam is “Coromandel”, the land of the Cholas. The Chola rulers are remembered most for what they created rather than for what they conquered. Chola rulers were active patrons of the arts, and during their reign, poetry, drama, music, and delicious food flourished. The Cholas came to power in the late 9th century, and until the late 13th century, they ruled most of South India near Thanjavur (Tanjore) on the southeastern coast, now called Tamilnadu. During this period, several regional languages branched off from Sanskrit like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada etc. Under the Cholas, the Dravidian style of temple architecture, exclusive to the south, attained its most magnificent form. In our restaurants we follow unique blend of spices and diverse style of cooking from the different Indian states, which has evolved over many centuries and is now one of the most sought after cuisine across the globe.
