The hotel is comfortable, clean, reasonable pricing, the food at the restaurant was better than most.
Positives: The location suited me, the food was good.
Negatives: The maid didn't leave extra towels as requested.

I liked the hotel but it is not in the best location. There is nothing around it, but the hotel itself is nice. The nominal fee to take the shuttle to NY city each day was pricey.
Positives: Friendly staff
Negatives: Too much money to travel to NY city each day

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Last time it was a Hilton and now it is a Doubletree. We really enjoyed the first time, but this time the room had problems. The alarm clock didn't work, the bedside light bulb went out, the bathroom sink drain was broken (annoying for a contact lens user), the printer in the business center didn't work and the air conditioning stopped functioning correctly in the middle of the night. It seems as if they are not as meticulous about maintenance as they had been previously, although the staff is lovely and tries their best. Perhaps they are having transition pains. We would probably stay there again.
Positives: The bedding is very comfortable & the shower is really good.
Negatives: The room was not in perfect repair.

Good location for access to Manhattan w/o major expense of NYC. I wish that the hotel offered more amenities w/o extra charges.
Positives: Its location worked well for our needs.
Negatives: They had charges for nearly every "extra" like using a computer in the lobby area.

If you do not need to sleep in the city this is the closest affordable upscale hotel you will get for a very reasonable price.
Positives: Good location, clean upscale feeling with a well budgeted price.
Negatives: They could have given a complimentary newspaper like other hotels do.

This is the second Hilton we've stayed at this year and they both locations were not convenient to public transportation nor were shuttle schedules for vacationers. Won't stay in another Hilton if I can help it.
Positives: I liked nothing.
Negatives: Location was bad shuttle to bridge did not leave early nor did pick up late enough nor did the pd shuttle. We were in NYC for goodness sake.

We were given the worst room for a Hilton and I plan to follow up with a complaint.
Positives: Location to Columbia College only.
Negatives: We were given a dirty smoking room.

Will never stay in it again or recommend it to anyone.
Positives: The only good part of the hotel was the pool.
Negatives: The room was very dirty.

The carpet in room is dirty. The bath tub is old and you can see discolored molding of with stains. No fan or vend in bathroom. Mirror is old, dirty with spots. I also found bed bugs in one bed (double beds).
Positives: Convenient location.
Negatives: Difficult to get to from local street; only accessible from 1 direction of highway.

This well located hotel is generally satisfactory as far as meeting general expectations are concerned. However having stayed there a number of times there is always some rather annoying experience (broken TV causing room change, clean up not quite on time, leaks, peeling wall paper, etc) that seems to occur. Getting to hotel from new York city is difficult and can be dangerous. However, location trumps all and I would stay at this hotel again.
Positives: Friendly courteous service.
Negatives: Television did not work; ceiling leak caused water to accumulate on bathroom counter and floor.

The Hilton Fort Lee undoubted was built as a four star hotel, but I suspect high vacancy rates has lead to skimping on maintenance. Bathroom faucet was broken. Some common area items needed work. It is not as well kept up as most Hilton properties. The location is outstanding if you do not plan to arrive when the entry to the George Washington Bridge is backed up. To get to hotel, you must take Rt.4 north & west and then double back on Rt.4 south and east, an approach path to the GW Bridge. The approach to the bridge backs up at the end of each weekend as well as each morning until about 9:30 AM. Our daughter lives in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan, right across the bridge. Even with bridge toll, it is far less expensive and less of a hassle to stay in Fort Lee that to pay for hotel and parking in Manhattan. For someone seeking to do business with Columbia University across the bridge in Manhattan, it is the location to stay, even with the traffic jam. Even with a 30 minute delay to get onto the bridge, you still would probably make it to upper Manhattan than from mid-town Manhattan. Next time we're in New York, if we can get a similar rate, we'll stay again at the Hilton.
Positives: Great swimming pool for swimming laps, very nicely furnished.
Negatives: It tough to get to from east and south during rush hours and on Sunday nights.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Susan at the front desk helped iron out some mix-ups with my initial reservation and Brian also with the front desk was great helping us with our luggage and arranging for a crib for our baby.
Positives: Easy accessibility to NYC
Negatives: Nothing not to like about.

O.k. But it is getting outdate.
Positives: Close to NYC.
Negatives: Pool was out of order.
