Would definitely recommend grouse mountain lodge as a nice place to stay. Staff was all helpful and friendly, rooms were kept very clean, restaurant had wonderful food and service, and shuttle service was top-notch. Can't say enough good about our time spent their. Would definitely stay there again.

Positives: The lodge was very nice. Staffs were all very helpful and friendly. Room was always clean. Food was great!

Negatives: Didn't always have towels available in the swimming-hot tub area.

The town and activities are wonderful Everything about the hotel was sub par. All the locals we talked to said it has really gone down hill. The front desk was rude and just did not care. The concierges knew nothing more than the one line that was written for then. They also knew nothing of the big festival that was going on in Whitefish. The rooms have paper thin walls and were poorly maintained with stained carpet and mildew all over the shower. The towels were all frayed. The pool and hot tub had so much chlorine your eye would water. It was the price of an upper class hotel but something you would expect from a 1 star hotel. The room we had was next to an outside door with a broken spring. The door slammed all night, no sleep that night. They moved us to a room where the sprinkler sprayed water on our window every night at 3:00am, no sleep the other nights either. They wanted to charge us $20 to move to another room because the next room was an upgrade. We left Karen the manager phone messages (no manager was on duty every time we asked). Checking out we talked to Karen. She claimed she never picked up her phone messages for the 4 days we were there (yea right!). Talking to others at the hotel bar had similar opinions.

Positives: Whitefish is a wonderful vacation.

Negatives: Loud for good night sleep. Mildew all over shower, stains on carpet, chlorine in pool makes eye water. Rude front desk.
