Overall, its<BR/>OK for the price, would not recommend for a long stay a day or 2 at most, hallway smelled badly, breakfast area not large enough had 3 small tables only.
Positives: Convenient.
Negatives: Hallway smelled badly, 1st morning I had no hot water, and breakfast area is not large enough.

Had to spend $35 for bug repellants & bug killers so my kids could sleep @ night. This really spoiled our vacation. The carpets were fitly & ice machine ran out of ice from occupants filling up their coolers. Upon arrival the owners charged me $90 more because I wanted a room with 2 beds. "What a horrible experience." These people are ripping off artist! Have a nice Day!
Positives: Price & location.
Negatives: Invasion of crickets, carpets filthy.

Clean, inexpensive, good coffee, just the cups were too small, easily accessed. Only real complaint was the bed.
Positives: Easy to get to, right off the freeway.
Negatives: Bed was terrible! Back hurt every morning.

As a frequent business traveler to san Antonio, I know that it is difficult to find a safe, clean, hotel (especially at a good price) but more often than not I end up at dumps like this budget host inn. In san Antonio, anything less than a 3-star hotel is usually a filthy and disgusting place to stay, and this budget host inn was no exception. On top of all, the usual complaints one would expect, the staff was beyond incompetent. In fact, I would say that the staff was so bad that it closely resembled a Saturday night live skit. At one point during the 20-minute check in ordeal, the lady at the front desk nearly refused to give me the rooms! Then, the owner sent her a fax and once again she nearly refused because the rate was too low! When I finally got my rooms keys (which didn't even work), the lady gave me a stern warning to be careful next time because they would not honor that rate again. Un freaking believable.
Positives: Nothing good comes to mind, but at least we had a parking space.
Negatives: Things that I did not like include: rude and uncooperative staff, filthy conditions, and rooms keys would not work.

Horrible experience. Checked in at 4pm & left at 10pm that same day. Did not even stay the night. Not in close proximity to any attractions or nice eateries.
Positives: Easy check-in, next to adult book store, and TV worked.
Negatives: Sticky carpet, squeaky bed, unclean bathroom, unset towels, crickets everywhere, foul odor in room, and unsecured rear exit.

When we got there the room was very hot and not cleaned or sanitized the air conditioner had not been turned on for quite some time. The commode did not flush very well. The hallways were not air conditioned; it took almost half a day for the room to cool. The swimming pool was very small one family was there most of the time. The hall way windows were open, flies and knats flying everywhere, someone was barbequing you could smell and see the smoke everywhere, this is the worst hotel my family and I ever stayed in. if they were vacancies at other hotels we would have left right away. Deeply disappointed.
Positives: Nothing.
Negatives: The room was un livable when we got there.

Hotel room was dirty, we found 2 large roaches, TV was old, too small (13") and image wasn't good. Mattress was uncomfortable, old, and very thin. Towels were very small and look very old and worn down. I would not recommend or stay here again.
Positives: Easy access to freeway.
Negatives: Dirty and not well kept.

The staff was wonderful at the front desk. The rooms could have been a little cleaner because there was stuff left in the rooms that were from guests before us and not from us. We also did not appreciate coming all the way from south Dakota to san Antonio TX, where we have never been, to find out that the hotel we booked was changed from super 8 to budget host, without any notice at all. Also, that under the webpage the picture of the "super 8" hotel was nothing like what we stayed at. Not even the pool!
Positives: The younger lady that works days was awesome and very helpful.
Negatives: The pool, cleanliness, no light bulb in lamp, cigarette left by toilet, sunglasses under table from other guest.

I would not stay in this hotel again for any price. I booked the room too late and did not find accommodations available other than this except at a much higher price. Given the opportunity to do this over, I would have paid more for a better hotel.
Positives: Nothing.
Negatives: Bathroom door wouldn't close; shower didn't work, generally cheap.

Run down.
Positives: A/C worked great.
Negatives: Dirty, inconvenient to attractions, moldy, poor neighborhood.
