It was called Days Inn but was not what was expected from this name. It was an old hotel remade into a Days Inn, but was disappointing. Room was way too small for 2 people. Window screen was broken, AC was very loud and kept waking us up. Dirt around radiator.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Too small for 2 people.

Room was clean and comfortable with a desk, three chairs and a table. The wireless Internet worked well. The bathroom was small and the window AC was loud. The hotel is located downtown and is close restaurants and shopping.

Positives: Convenient location, clean rooms and free parking.

Negatives: Small bathroom, noisy AC and thin walls.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, walls rather thin making it very noisy. Unfortunately we were on the 5th floor which is the pet floor

Positives: Clean, friendly and good location for our purpose.

Negatives: Noisy

The location to Mayo Clinic is great, the staff was very friendly and helpful. You can travel with pets and they dont charge a pet fee. Our room was very small and had twin beds and was told we had this room because we booked online.

Positives: The location to Mayo was great.

Negatives: I was disappointed with the room. It was very small and had twin beds.

The building is extremely old and uncomfortable. We had to upgrade and then it wasn't comfortable as there wasn't even air conditioning.

Positives: The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Negatives: Room so basic that we needed to upgrade which cost us a lot of money.

If your going to Mayo Clinic. You won't get closer. If your staying a long time stay elsewhere. There are nice rooms a short distance away at similar or lower prices.

Positives: Close to my desired location Mayo Clinic.

Negatives: Everything else. Its old, somewhat dirty, had to sleep in twin bed.

I would not recommend this hotel. The hotel is very old, the rooms are very small, the staff was not accommodating at all and did not appear to want to assist in making happy customers. One of the worst experiences at a hotel I have ever had.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Staff was extremely un-professional.

The hotel was located in a convenient area, but as for being renovated. I do not think so. It was like walking into 1930's. Although I love the old architecture of the building the rooms really need to be updated, especially the heat and bathrooms.

Positives: Convenient area.

Negatives: Needs to be totally updated.

The hotel is a very short distance from the Mayo clinic. It was built back in the early 1900's and still has the flavor of that era.

Positives: Location, style and cost.

Negatives: Nothing.

There was no place to set even the shaver down in the bathroom, the coffee pot was on an extension, and the only place to place the portable heater they gave us to plug it in the 2'space I had to get out of the bed between the wall .

Positives: Clean.

Negatives: No plug in bathroom and the heater didnt work.

I booked my 5 night stay at this hotel because I had to take my 2 year old daughter to the Mayo Clinic. Upon arrival, I was shocked to discover that the rooms did not have a micro/fridge as posted on their website. I immediately went to the front desk and was told that not only did they not have any micros/fridges in their rooms, but none to share in the lobby area etc. This posed a huge problem for me as my daughter has meds that need to be refrigerated etc. I said that I needed to cancel my reservation and was told that it was non refundable. To add insult to injury, this honestly was the poorest hotel I've ever stayed at. I can't believe Days Inn would out their sign on something so disgraceful. Their website says "newly renovated in 2007" our rooms renovation included a new sink in the bathroom - that was it. Also, the heat was stuck in the "on" position, so we had the run the 20 year old window air conditioner to keep it comfortable. The beds had a huge sag in the middle, only one ice machine for the entire hotel, no vent in the bathroom to get rid of the steam, the toilet was pushed so tightly against the wall that you literally had to turn almost sideways to use it, and the rooms themselves were smaller than anything I've ever seen before. I talked to several people at the mayo clinic about my experience and was told that they don't ever recommend going there because of the problems people have. At the end of the day, I paid $385 to be irritated and upset, and ultimately ended up moving to the Ramada, which, I would highly recommend to anyone.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Everything else. Worse place I've ever stayed.

It has a really convenient location if going to Mayo Clinic. The bed was so-so, but the pillows where new and numerous. There was a strange smell in the hallway and a different one in the room. We had the sound of running water all night because of a pipe that ran through our room. Frankly, it was over priced for the quality of room it was. It wasn't any bigger than a postage stamp! There was barely enough room for us and our luggage.

Positives: It was very convenient for our appointments to the Mayo Clinic

Negatives: It smelled weird in our room. We had to leave the window open when sleeping.

The hotel was okay and fit our needs. Besides the smell of a smoking room, which I know could be eliminated, it was okay. The service was adequate and the location couldn't be better. The price was right. We have to stay longer because my wife is here for cancer surgery. I hope they don't raise the rate and take advantage of the fact that she needs to stay longer at the hospital for recovery.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Smokey smelling room.

The room was not clean when we checked in on Tuesday. We received no room service at all on Thursday. Had to go down to get our own towels. The desk was not even aware that our room wasn't clean and they didn't even apologize for this. Unbelievable.

Positives: The food at the restaurant.

Negatives: The maid service was complete crap.

The staff was excellent. I interacted with multiple staffers who were all helpful and friendly. However, the facility doesn't have central AC. This resulted in me waking up at 3:00 am and not being able to go back to sleep. I am a physician who flew from Texas to Rochester, MN for an overnight stay for a national exam that determines by board certification. I had to be up at 5:00 am for my exam and needless to say, I was a bit tired going into my test.

Positives: Friendly and helpful staff.

Negatives: Lack of air conditioning.
