Very disappointing we upgraded to a bigger room with breakfast and snacks and drinks we were very humiliated by one of the staff members. It is also not centrally located to everything and comparably to the Marriott or Radisson downtown there isn't even a comparison.
Positives: The front desk was nice.
Negatives: We were humiliated by one of the staff members and wouldn't want to stay there again.

Clean hotel, great location, lots of amenities. As far as the room goes, it is comfortable, though nothing special. We did have a nice view of Downtown. The best part about this hotel is that it is located Downtown in a safe area and within walking distance to everything. Skip the valet, park the car and get out your walking shoes.
Positives: The location was outstanding. Downtown, within walking distance to so many things.
Negatives: Parking is $17 a day. The room was nice.

This hotel is beautiful and modern. It has amazing views of the city and the staff is very professional. I loved the huge fitness center and could easily continued any part of my workout there. It is located in a very safe part of downtown and has lots of eating choices close by. Parking ramp keeps cars protected from weather.
Positives: I loved the huge fitness center and the hotel is beautiful, very professional staff.
Negatives: Breakfast buffet was not included in price of room and bathroom is not as luxurious as I thought it would be.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel.
Positives: The only positive experience was with the room service attendant.
Negatives: Unprofessional staff, dirty rooms, stained carpets, molding beef jerky left in our room refrigerator, not four stars in any way.

It is past it's prime and good staff cannot overcome the Hotel physical layout.
Positives: Oceanaire rest.
Negatives: Bathroom Area in my room was small and dark!

This hotel was a horrible experience!
Positives: Nothing!
Negatives: The service and the construction.

Great hotel, fun staff, clean, and quiet. All the things that make an hotel very comfortable to stay in.
Positives: I like everything about the hotel.
Negatives: Just the location.

Liked it very much.
Positives: Nice location.
Negatives: We got a pretty crabby view from the room. Oh well.

We were just frustrated with no fridge in the room and especially no hot tub or sauna for guests! Your staff was friendly which was a nice Minnesota welcome!
Positives: Within walking distance to downtown. Friendly staff with a nice front desk area. Nice parking ramp attached to hotel
Negatives: No fridge in the room. No hot tub or sauna for guests. Big turn off for us! Hallways didn't seem like a 4 star hotels!

The hotel was fine overall. But the mattress was lumpy and the maids knocked on our door to clean the door very early in the morning. Also the room was a bit noisy because of the a/c.
Positives: Location was fine. Within walking distance to many restaurants.
Negatives: The matress was not comfortable and the room was very noisey.

It was awesome. Good location very helpful staff. The nicest hotel Ive ever stayed in!
Positives: The king size bed.
Negatives: I didn't get a smoking room.

This was a great hotel for the price. There was obviously a wedding being held there but we had no problem with noise at night. We parked in the garage next door. We did not eat in the hotel because of so many other options on the Mall.
Positives: It was a very nice hotel right in the heart of the city.
Negatives: I guess I didn't like that we had to pay for parking.
Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 03 Jun 2011 rated 9 out of 10.
The hotel parking lot is city-owned so there is no discount from the hotel.
Positives: Friendliness of the staff -- I left part of my baggage in the lobby and they found it and returned it to me.
Negatives: The drawback of this hotel is that the hotel parking is $18 and that adds quite a bit to the price.

I
know the Hyatt has nicer rooms, than what we were provided. The bathrooms were terrible, small and old. This was not a 4-star hotel and I wouldn't recommend it.
Positives: The staff was very friendly.
Negatives: The rooms were old and dung.

The Hyatt Regency Downtown Minneapolis is a beautiful facility - from the entrance to the lobby to the rooms, it is visually appealing. The rooms are hypo-allergenic, which was helpful because I was traveling with someone who has asthma. Although the rooms were clean and maintained well daily, I found that the rest of the staff was not very friendly or helpful. We tried to get suggestions of where to dine and what to see on a Thursday night in Minneapolis and the only suggestion was the Japanese Steakhouse immediately across the street. If we wanted to go there, we would have gone without asking - we had made it clear we wanted to see more of the City and this didn't meet our request. It was exceptionally difficult to order pizza while we were at the hotel - the concierge didn't know which was the closest one to the hotel and the front desk gave us a hard time when we asked to borrow a phone book, (none are provided in the room) to look up a pizza delivery number. We made one local phone call that cost a few bucks (just to order the pizza) and paid $10 for 24 hours of economy Internet. I found it odd that they would fail to provide a phone book in the room when they do not offer free Internet connection. Parking at the hotel was an additional $20 per night, which is reasonable considering the location.
Positives: Modern and
Negatives: Unfriendly and unhelpful staff.

Beautiful hotel with a great downtown Minneapolis location. Parking was additional, so that tacked on extra $ to our trip. Taxi's were available to take us where we wanted to go at night. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Positives: Very elegant, clean beautiful room and great downtown location.
Negatives: We didn't realize that it would cost $17.00 just to park.

Probably would not use Priceline for downtown
MPLS, because Hyatt grabs all bids.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: Room temperature controls did not work.

In short, I would
never stay there again. I went with a girlfriend to celebrate our birthday's together by eating out downtown, going to a show at the Gutherie, and then staying at a hotel. The hotel experience at the Hyatt was an enormous disappointment for what could have been one of the funner aspects of our trip. The hotel rooms were ugly and smelled like smoke-I have stayed at two star hotel that were nicer! The view was not better, looking out into the parking garage instead of beautiful downtown. The pool hours were ridiculous, closing at 9pm. The hotel charged for access to the whirlpool and gym, as well as every possible amenity. The staff was rude and acted as though we ought to be grateful that they took the time out of their night to actually do their jobs! For example, the check-on staff, Pete, was on the phone having a personal conversation and made us wait 5 minutes to be helped, then when he did finally assist us, he was degrading, sarcastic, and downright unhelpful, making us feel as though HE was the guest and we were interrupting him. This attitude permeated all of the staff, with the single exception of the valet. The Hyatt Regency is truly an awful hotel, both the price, the building itself, and the staff.
Positives: It's only redeeming trait was it's convenient, downtown Minneapolis location.
Negatives: I can certainly see why I got the room for - it's no wonder there were empty rooms available!

Comparable to other 4 star hotels. Great price.
Positives: Hot tub, steam room.
Negatives: Rooms were nice, but I've seen better.

Only two complaints are the WIFI charge and the great fitness center on site that charged extra per day. We stayed 3 night and on the last day saw fitness equipment near the pool area, along with weights.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: Poor lighting in lobby and rooms. Charged for WiFi! The TV screwed down, had to move furniture to swivel to view.

Excellent service and staff. The rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet, and conveniently located.
Positives: Clean, quiet, comfortable, and friendly staff.
Negatives: Can't think of anything that I would change.

Lobby and hallways were dimly lit and plain. Great location near downtown. Had to pay for parking and walk to parking lot was long/confusing. One of the parking lot elevators not working and business center out of order (both complaints previously expressed by other users - not yet fixed in our trip.) Pool was small and no hot tub (without paying).
Positives: The location was great, it was clean.
Negatives: Not ritzy enough for a 4 star hotel. Expected more of a wow factor.

I arrived at the hotel and was very impressed with the appearance. When I went to check in, I was told that the last room available was a one king bed room and that my selection of a double bed online was only a preference so I was not given a double bed room (they told me they were sold out). I was suspicious of this considering the staff was very rude and said that we had gotten the last room of the night (it was 8:30pm). This was very unprofessional of them.
Positives: Very nice rooms.
Negatives: We were lied to at check in.

Great location and great view from the 21st floor. Check-in staff wasn't the nicest, hotel seems to have a lot of great options. Room service was great. Try the lava cake!

Hotel was great, but very disappointed in having to pay $17.00 to park overnight for 10 hours after paying for parking for twins game.

The hotel was great. Room was very comfortable. Staff was outstanding, very friendly and helpful. But we thought the cost for extras, often included, was high. ie. parking, internet, and sue of spa.
Positives: Very friendly staff and room was comfortable and clean.
Negatives: Prices for extras are not reasonable: parking, use of internet, and use of spa and fitness area.

Overall good, just lacking the luster of a 4-star. Some common things such as flat screens, iPod docks, and front door greets were all missing.
Positives: The beds were comfy, everything was nicely decorated.
Negatives: No flat screen TV, no iPod alarm dock.

This hotel has very comfortable rooms, elegantly furnished, with very comfortable beds. The room was very clean. I've found the rooms to be quiet and restful. The breakfast buffet in the Taxi. Restaurant was wonderful.
Positives: Elegant room furnishings, very clean, quiet room, downtown location and comfortable beds.
Negatives: View from rooms, Old TV, shabby access to parking structure, fountain in lobby was off when we arrived - looked bad.
Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 11 Aug 2010 rated 4 out of 10.
When you walk into the lobby, it is beautiful and stunning. The room had dated furniture and the air conditioner made a very loud motor noise every time it turned on and off, this kept us awake all night long.
Positives: Lobby and the sports bar.
Negatives: Noises woke us up all night.

The location is good. Our room had a bad view. Also, it is older and needs remodeling. The television should be a flat screen. The hotel should have a continental breakfast.
Positives: The location.
Negatives: Older, needs flat screen TV, needs remodeling.

The hotel has a great location downtown. Very clean and comfortable rooms. It would be nice if the internet were free as is most hotles these days.
Positives: Great front desk staff.
Negatives: I did not like the fact that you have to pay for the Internet.

I felt I received decent value for the price paid. Fitness center an extra 11 bucks, but the facilities are excellent.
Positives: Doorman was great.
Negatives: Cost of wireless, out of line, parking a bit pricey - $17 a night.

Nice hotel but be prepared to be nickle and dimed. Had to pay for parking $17 per day. WiFi was not free and neither was the exercise equipment. Although it was a beautiful spa but the hotel would only give you a discount to it if you stayed 3 days or more. Otherwise be prepared to pay $11 per day.
Positives: Nice facility and would be great for a convention.
Negatives: No free

I definitely would go back to this hotel! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the valet as well! Great location, restaurants, nice rooms, only thing missing is an upgrade on their TVs! If you would like to ask for key locations around town the front desk helped us out and we ended up at the best places in town!
Positives: Anthony at front desk and valet people were very nice and accommodating.
Negatives: TVs need an upgrade badly and showers very small.

Hotel lobby and rooms are quite nice. Both check in and check out process was very fast. Great location to several bars, restaurants, and coffee.

I called for a late checkout & the staff was wonderful. They let us check out 2 hrs late! Amazing room for the price!
Positives: The room was beautiful.
Negatives: Parking was very far away & expensive.

I expect free internet at hotels these days, it's free at McDonald's, so it should be free at a four star hotel. Parking in the hotel ramp seemed a little high priced.
Positives: Good on-site dining, short walk to Nicollet Mall shopping.
Negatives: Have to pay to use the internet, parking was super expensive.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 18 Apr 2010 rated 7 out of 10.
Overall we were pleased with this hotel for the price. The rooms were clean and the desk workers were more than accommodating. However, the heating/cooling system of the room were less than adequate. The room was rather warm and even turning the dial down to 62 degrees couldn't make any difference. The parking, while convenient, is very pricey at $17 a night. The hotel can charge you directly for parking which is valid for the entire days of your stay (midnight to midnight). The rooms are a little outdated, and turnover service is not always done on multi-night stays. There was some general construction ongoing in the main part of the lobby with new wallpaper being installed to freshen up the hotel lobby appearance. Good for business travelers and for those who wish to be able to stay downtown near all the events.
Positives: Nice location, clean rooms.
Negatives: No pool, thinly insulated walls, expensive parking.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 18 Apr 2010 rated 6 out of 10.
Location is good to great depending on weather and how far you have to walk. Target Center and the new Twins ballpark are within nine blocks.

Overall, the hotel had a good value. Pool was disappointing. Not much for kids at this hotel. Excellent value for business traveler. Not a great location for families with young children. Room needs updating, i.e., no flat screen TV.
Positives: Location was good. Hotel was clean.
Negatives: Pool was sub-par. Restaurant was very pricey. Room was small.

Great location, very nice place to stay. If you are traveling as a couple as for a King size bed as the other rooms have small beds. Would be nice if the rooms had fridge in them and newer TVs. Other than that it was a great stay. The parking is a big $17.00 a day and you have a little walk to get to your room from the parking area.
Positives: Comfy beds, very roomy, clean, and secure.
Negatives: The $17 for parking and $13 for the Internet a day.
