We had not been to this hotel for over 30 years. However we really enjoyed our stay. The staff (especially the shuttle driver) were wonderful. The food in the restaurant and the view from the restaurant and our room were great. We will definitely return.
Positives: Shuttle service, staff and restaurant were great. view was amazing.
Negatives: Room needs updating (ripped chair) and a fridge.

Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely come back and visit.
Positives: The service and the location.
Negatives: Wish I would have had the view of the harbor. The view that I had wasn't bad though.

The people of Duluth are wonderful, and this is an excellent place to stay, putting you in the heart of a beautiful city!

Wasn't happy that my spouse and I had to sleep in separate beds. We ended up with 2 twin beds and were hoping for a queen or king sized bed. Good location though.

Positives: Good location.
Negatives: Seems slightly outdated.

The hotel location was a half mile from canal park in Duluth. Parking was convenient. The rooms had cheap quality sleep number beds that needed repair and weren't very stable. Bedding was discolored or dirty, not sure which. Remote for the TV needed new batteries. The rooms needed a lot of updating to be considered a 3 star.
Positives: Location to Canal Park in Duluth.
Negatives: Many things in the room needed repair.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 27 Aug 2011 rated 5 out of 10.
Overall this hotel was OK. It was not worth the 3 stars it was given. I am not even sure it is a 2+ Star hotel. However the accommodations were clean and the uniqueness of the building helped to cover up the discomfort of the beds. We were glad that we were only there 2 nights otherwise we would all need a chiropractor. The pool area was outdated but clean and enjoyable by all.
Positives: The proximity to many different city attractions was wonderful.
Negatives: Our son chose to sleep on the floor, my wife and I slept in different beds because the beds were awful.

Negatives: Noisy / unpredictable elevator.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. It is completely overpriced, worn furnishings, dirty elevators needing maintenance. Other than that, the location was decent.
Positives: The location.
Negatives: Worn, dirty furnishings; carpet dirty & worn; pax elevator looked like freight elevator.
Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 23 Aug 2011 rated 6 out of 10.
The water temp adjusted it's self while taking a shower - bad. The noise from other rooms and from the elevator while in room was bad. Didn't get to sleep much! The staff was great and hotel was clean.
Positives: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean.
Negatives: Shower temp was unpredictable, the noise in rooms and from elevator while in room - WOW!

The hotel had a good location, but the room we were provided had torn wall paper, missing wall base, and a non functioning shower.
Positives: Restaurant
Negatives: The shower temperature went from scalding hot to freezing cold constantly.

Good sized room, quiet, comfortable bed, good restaurant, good location right downtown, great room for the price.
Positives: Nice room with comfortable bed.
Negatives: Liked everything.

Nice hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Parking really was poor set up as there was not enough for hotel guests and we had to park 2 blocks from the hotel.
Positives: Very clean rooms and friendly staff.
Negatives: No parking in hotel lot and had to park almost 2 blocks from hotel which was very inconvenient!

Great location for couples vacationing. Terrible in almost every other way. Beds are the worst imaginable (Take this and other reviews re this seriously as I didn't and still am out of place!!!!). Elevators (2 functioning) are so slow the turn around from calling them at lobby level to the 5th floor was NO LESS THAN 15-20 minutes and up to 30 depending on how many people were ahead of us! To top that off, ove 5 times when we got to our room we found our room keys wouldn't work which resulted in the same ordeal once again w/slow elevators. The staff were quick to 'fix' it w/new keys but were unwilling to believe that there was something wrong with what was occurring. I should note that after the first key both my wife and I kept the keys away from cells, computer, other cards etc... so I cannot imagine the problem! also a few other minor issues e.g. rust ring around shower drain, refrigerator that froze
everything we put in it, air conditioning that wouldn't regulate! Thankfully Duluth is a great town and since we were hardly ever in the hotel except to sleep or change we still had a blast! If older, broke down, poor beds, slow elevators, are an issue w/you do not stay review.
Positives: The location is great if you want close access to downtown or many local attractions.
Negatives: Terrible! Room keys wouldn't function no less than 6 times! Elevators can leave you waiting 30+ minutes!

Overall, the hotel met our needs. It was downtown, yet had access to Canal Park via sky walk. Restaurants close by. Public areas were nice. However, I was disappointed in the condition of the room. Carpet had multiple stains and chair was dirty and stained. For the star rating of the hotel I expected more.
Positives: Good location.
Negatives: Room condition.

Clean, contemporary, and friendly. Close to downtown attractions. Easy to find.
Positives: The view of the harbor and access to downtown.
Negatives: Waiting for the elevators when hotel is busy.

Staff was friendly, the lobby is inviting, the rooms and hallways are clean, but very dated, the bathroom was a little small, the revolving restaurant was good with reasonable prices and a newly remodeled look.
Positives: The restaurant was really good and the skywalk system was nice to avoid the cold wind, at least as far as it went.
Negatives: The hotel is very dated in some areas and the bathroom was small. The rooms need to be remodeled, the restaurant was and looks great.

Stayed one night on excursion up the North Shore. Good location, nice views, quiet. Was annoyed that they charged $50 to my account after I already paid through Priceline, but it did eventually fall off.
Positives: Location, view, accessibility.
Negatives: They placed an unexpected pending $50 charge, later dropped.

We checked into our room originally for 3 days. Then went to the waterfront to see the Tall Ships in August. Came back and were locked out of the room. Went to the desk clerk and found out that they had allowed another guest access to the same room. His luggage was in the room too. They gave us another room, but very upsetting since we had our belongings in room too. Would have been very bad if the other guest came into room while we were in the room. Only stayed 2 days.
Positives: Enjoyed the view from the revolving resturant.
Negatives: Needs updating and parking lot was full.

The housekeeping could be a little better,
I did not like the sleep number beds, feels like you are sleeping on an air mattress.

This hotel would have been modern in the '70's and is in need of serious updating.
Positives: Friendly staff.
Negatives: Outdated and uncomfortable bed.

I would advise not to eat in the restaurant. Mixed drinks were also poor quality. The coffee pot didn't work and had to call twice to replace it. One top sheet was dirty one of the beds. Location was good. They advertised free shuttle
SVC, but this didn't apply to local area's. The restaurant staff didn't seem to know they worked there. They were very inattentive and obviously inexperienced. Front desk only had one person. Complaints and requests were poorly managed. Room was small but had nice design.
Positives: The view from the hotel room and atop the hotel in the restaurant was breathtaking.
Negatives: The food in the hotel was worse than Wendy's.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 14 Aug 2010 rated 5 out of 10.
We found the rooms to be extremely small. There were three of us and two double beds, it was very cramped. The sleep number beds were unreliable. The cleanliness was below par and there was visible mould and water damage by the air conditioner. The television reception was usually poor. Location was good for daytime walking excursions to local attractions! Wouldn't recommend travel in the evening, especially with young children.
Positives: Location as easy walking access to some major Duluth attractions.
Negatives: Cleanliness, visibly rundown and needing of renovation.

The hotel was very clean and spacious. It is in great location with a wonderful view. The food in the restaurant was very good.
Positives: A clean, spacious room with an incredible view.

Very clean, with prompt, polite and professional staff.
Positives: Very convenient to downtown. Thought or room faced away from the lake, those that do have an amazing view.

We had a great weekend at the Radisson, easily coming and going with no parking worries. The beautiful and comfortable lobby surprised us, and our room was clean and comfortable. Loved trying out a sleep number bed! Had a superb dining experience in the revolving restaurant a top the hotel; very romantic and terrific views!
Positives: The retro style lobby made me want to spend time in it, which I never would have planned on before seeing it.
Negatives: The slow elevators.

While my friend and I thought the revolving restaurant ( which reopened 2 days before our arrival) was wonderful with the best food I have had in years, I would say the remainder of the hotel was a let down. We requested a microwave and refrigerator to be brought to the room and waited 1 hour then we called the front desk to say we were going to go eat and did not want the staff to deliver while we were gone. The latter was agreed upon except the delivery was made while we were gone, so much for communication! Staff new very little re: giving directions (I'm not sure how the front desk staff get to work everyday). We were told we could not get rooms with a harbor view unless we paid $20 more, and we would have to pay $30 for a microwave and fridge. We did get the micro and fridge free after I complained that Priceline states all 3-4 star hotels have these accommodations within the room rate.
Positives: The revolving restaurant was excellent with good food.
Negatives: Small rooms, tried to charge for micro and fridge, no place to walk pets.

The mail part of this hotel would have a gorgeous view of Lake Superior, St Louis Bay or the hills behind Duluth. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are small but nice.
Positives: Price was great.
Negatives: Our room was in the annex rather than the main hotel with a view.

This hotel was a nice place to stay for one night. Close to the freeway and downtown. Would have liked to have one king bed instead of two doubles.
Positives: Easy to find and
Negatives: Could here guests in other rooms.

The lobby, elevators, carpeted areas and pool area were filthy! While standing in line, a hotel employee dusted a very dirty table with his "bare" hands and then proceeded to shake the dust off his hands onto the floor! I was disgusted that he did not bother to use a rag to dust it off.
Positives: Sleep Number Beds and bed linens in the room were comfortable and clean.
Negatives: The pool was filthy and smelled like chlorine was being dumped in to cover up the lack of cleanliness.

Room was on the smaller side; however, it was clean and the view of the lake was very nice. The revolving restaurant had good breakfasts for a decent price. The workout facilities were poor. Hotel has a good location.
Positives: Breakfast at the revolving restaurant.
Negatives: Poor gym facilities, no fridge in room.

This stay was OK, vending machines very expensive-did not give us our change, room was OK, beds were comfy, floors and bathroom need a GOOD cleaning, check out receptionist wasn't very friendly.

The location was very good. We were close to everything we wanted. The revolving restaurant is fun and unique, and does offer a very nice view of the lake. At first glance the room seemed fine. However, the bathroom was terribly maintained. The shower head barely worked, and we even had trouble with turning on the tub faucet. I was pleased that there was free Wi-Fi. But overall, I didn't feel the accommodations were any nicer than your average Super 8. The staff were very kind and helpful. We really appreciated the shuttle driver. He was very good at pointing out local attractions, and the service is a very nice amenity. However, that is not enough to make up for the lack of room maintenance. I am very unlikely to stay in this hotel again.
Positives: Location was good.
Negatives: Parking is woefully inadequate.
