Located in the heart of the Berkshires in Massachusetts. In 1790 Elijah Smedley built the post-and-beam portion of this home. When he married in 1828, they expanded the home by adding the brick facade. The main building later served as a stagecoach stop, a speakeasy, -- and more recently -- as research offices for the Getty Foundation. It was moved to it's current location from the land now occupied by the Orchards Hotel in 1984.
