Typical Holiday Inn Express with smoking and non-smoking rooms. Not terribly far from Boston or Harvard - great location for those who like walking.
Positives: The price was right for the location.
Negatives: Smoking in the rooms; not great location to get to either Harvard or Boston by public transit.

Hotel was clean, comfortable and adequate. Felt a little isolated from activity centers - dining, entertainment, etc. Bed was comfortable. Lots of movie & sports channels. Free internet. Excellent selection for free breakfast.
Positives: Clean, comfortable, excellent free breakfast & free internet
Negatives: Location and staff were okay but not the best

As with many hotels, the temperature in the room was hard to control. The bed was very comfortable, but the pull out sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. The building could use some attention, but it was not unclean. It is great that they provide free parking, but the number of spaces is very limited and proved to be a challenge for us one night
Positives: Close to public transportation
Negatives: 2nd bed was a very uncomfortable fold out sofa

Easy to find, great rooms - but if you want a view of the city you need to go a little closer to the city. Location is within walking distance of public transportation (bus & train). Good breakfast! Only negative would be the need for more parking.
Positives: The close proximity to the train!
Negatives: Needed a bit more parking.

The hotel itself was perfect for what I needed. I just wanted a place to sleep and use the internet. The shower was missing the tub stopper, and looked like it needed a little maintenance, I didn't shower while I was there. The snack/soda machines didn't work and I had to go to the store for a drink. Overall though, the room was nice and up to date, and cleaned very well. The computer with internet access available in the lobby was a great plus, it really eased some issues I had with the trip. The breakfast area was extremely nice and comfy, and the food itself wasn't too bad, the eggs were powdered but I just stuck with the other items and I was fine. It was a buffet with a large variety so I didn't go hungry in the least. The staff was extremely friendly with the exception of the gentleman on the desk on Saturday. I've worked in hotels for years and overall it was an exceptional experience and if I ever go back to Boston I would gladly stay there again.
Positives: The hotel had a computer with internet for guest use and a great breakfast area.
Negatives: None of the snack or soda machines were working I had to go to the store for a drink.

This hotel was good for the price. In parking area there were minimal spaces on location and had to park across the street in a liquor store parking lot which was unattended.
Positives: Very close and convenient to the subway.
Negatives: Parking the first night was across the street in unattended lot of liquor store parking lot.

The service could of been better. I called 4 times to the front desk for a blow dryer and had to call 3 times for towels!
Positives: They had bottle water and snacks and cookies out for us next to the front desk for our to take!
Negatives: The parking was terrible! We had to park across the street!

I found the service very friendly and enjoyed the free breakfast. The room was clean and well-appointed. The location of the hotel was very convenient for visitors to either Cambridge or downtown Boston. The only downside is that you have to occasionally park across the street. Overall a great value for the Boston area.
Positives: Clean, well-appointed room.
Negatives: Had to park across the street at one point.

I would not rate this hotel as a 2.5 star that's a stretch. It's a one star at best.
Positives: The room was clean.
Negatives: Location, older hotel out of the way, no parking.

The Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Cambridge was a very nice hotel. It is a great place for families who are on vacation to stay. The rooms were very clean, and had everything that you could need. I especially appreciated the little kitchenette area. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others who are visiting the Boston area.
Positives: The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Negatives: The location.

Filthy carpets in rooms, slow elevators, great breakfast, 10 minute walk to the 'T' which takes you downtown in 10 minutes.
Positives: Breakfast.
Negatives: Filthy rooms.

I would stay there again. Well worth the money I spent.
Positives: Clean, quiet, nicely furnished.
Negatives: Very limited parking.

Overall, this is a really good, economical hotel in an expensive area. The hotel staff was great. The location, on the edge of Cambridge, was not horrible, but not a place I'd wonder around in at night. It's a very short walk to the T, which made getting around very easy.
Positives: The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
Negatives: The hotel was located near some abandoned buildings. I was a bit nervous when we arrived at night.

Minor problems, should be able to rectify.
Positives: The manager was extremely friendly and made us feel at home.
Negatives: The hotel needs better upkeep. For example, the towel rack was coming out. The bath room door knob was loose - small things, but need attention.

The hotel was clean, the rooms were large and nice and everything met our expectations. The location was just two blocks from a T stop, which was great! Also I had left my lights on in my car and the staff was so helpful. One of the managers even tried to jump my battery. We ended up calling triple A and the staff was checking on us to make sure everything was going ok!
Positives: The staff was very friendly and helpful!
Negatives: Not a lot of extras like a pool.

The hotel was adequate, but parking was not. We had to park in the lot of a liquor store across a very busy street. The we had to move the car by 8 AM the next morning! We were assured there would be plenty of spots then, as many people would be leaving by 6 AM or so. Not so - still had trouble finding a spot.
Positives: Good complimentary breakfast.
Negatives: Not enough parking.

This hotel is nowhere near Downtown Boston, like other Cambridge Hotels are. We politely requested a High Floor as far from the elevator as possible. The attendant gave us a room on the 3rd Floor (out of at least 8), directly across from the elevator. She said that's all they had, which was not true. We arrived at room, 4:30 pm, to find the door open, and being cleaned. After the maid left, we discovered there was no shower curtain. Also, there was some type of snot (hopefully) caked on the remote control. There are no accessible stairs, and I have a video of my wife and I waiting 8 minutes for an elevator. Upon express checkout over the phone, the phone rang and rang until the front desk picked up the phone and hung it up. Very unprofessional across the board. Since this hotel really doesn't have much going for it, you would think they would at least focus on customer service. I left this hotel feeling aggravated that I actually gave them a dime, and I apologized to my wife for putting us up at such a dump. For what you save on free parking and breakfast (which was 75% gone 9 am), you make up for in cabs, T fares, and nonstop frustration. It will be the best thing you could for your trip to Boston. This trip taught me that never stay at a Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge, MA.
Positives: Free parking, free breakfast.
Negatives: Dirty room, nasty remote, 8 min. elevator wait, keys not work, location, short staffed, un-professional staff.

Fine accommodations if you don't mind a lot of traffic noise and a fairly significant jaunt into Downtown Cambridge.
Positives: Soft sheets and breakfast bar, also close to a park.
Negatives: Traffic noise!

It was pleasant for a place in the area, and the boys had access to all the places they needed to go.
Positives: It was plain but it had all the necessary stuff.
Negatives: No comment.
