Since 1825, guests have sojourned to the Bear Mountain Inn for a truly unique and unforgettable Maine Bed and Breakfast experience. Waterford's Bear Mountain Inn is an all-season haven on Bear Lake for those who enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Each season features its own activities and special charm.
In the spring, summer, or fall begin your day at our Maine Bed and Breakfast by taking a boat or canoe to explore and fish our well-stocked lake while enjoying the wildlife and loons.
Take a walk along Bear River or hike up Bear Mountain for breathtaking views of the lakes region of Maine. The Inn provides canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats for our guests use.
In the winter our guests enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, tubing, and snowmobiling.
Guests may rent a snowmobile and connect to all the major snowmobile trails in Northern New England right from the Inn. Alpine skiing is enjoyed a short drive away at Sunday River or Shawnee Peak.

Maine lodging at the Bear Mountain Inn features 10 rooms - each with their own unique charm. From large, luxurious suites that pamper you with amenities to cozy rooms with country charm, the lodging options at the Inn offer something for everyone. The Grizzly Suite and the Bear Paw Suite are perfect for that special occasion or romantic getaway, while our two 2-bedroom suites are a favorite among families.
Our Maine lodging options also include two units that are separate from the Inn and offer total privacy. There's a large, one bedroom cottage - the Sugar Bear - with all the special touches including a log bed, fireplace, and antique claw foot tub. There's also a rustic cabin nestled in the woods with a view of Bear Pond for those who enjoy roughing it.
