Located in the tree lined West Street National Historic District, we have one of Bar Harbors' most convenient locations, within walking distance of village shops, restaurants and ocean activities. In addition, Acadia National Park is within 1 mile of the Inn.
The Inn is known for its gracious hospitality and offers guests a wide range of amenities including king or queen beds, fireplaces, whirlpool tubs and private porches. All of our rooms have private baths.

Built in 1887 by Col. James Foster as a 22 room mansion, this beautiful, authentically restored, Victorian summer cottage is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The moment you step into the front entry a romantic Victorian past becomes the present. Our elegant common rooms are decorated with Victorian wallcoverings, original maple floors and several working fireplaces.
All of our charming guestrooms and specious suites are furnished with fine antiques, period accessories, gracious touches and comfortable surroundings. Some have working fireplaces and garden views. All rooms have king or queen beds and private baths.
Chauffeurs Cottage - Originally built in 1897 as the servant's quarters for the main Mansion, it has been completely renovated to house three of our finest accommodations. All rooms have king beds, gas fireplaces, tub/shower baths, decks, Victorian wallcoverings and antique furnishings. Our Honeymoon Suite is the entire second floor of this building. Garden Cottages - Separated from the main Mansion, our private individual Garden Cottages have colonial charm. Each cottage has a queen bed, gas fireplace, sitting area, cable tv, tub/shower bath and a private porch. (click on the link above to view more)
Acadia Cottage at Manor House Inn - Constructed in 2000 and designed to compliment the historic Manor House Inn, the Acadia Cottage reflects the Cottage Style buildings of Old Bar Harbor, with luxury appointments and modern amenities. These spacious suites have queen beds, cable television, gas fireplaces, wet bars and very large bathrooms with whirlpool tubs. This building also has a private meeting room available for small groups.
Directions - From Ellsworth take Route 3 to Bar Harbor. As you approach Bar Harbor you will pass the main entrance to Acadia National Park on the right in Hulls Cove. Beautiful views of Frenchman Bay, and a glimpse of the Porcupine Islands will be to your left. Just as you enter the town, West Street will be the first cross street. Turning left onto West Street, you will find the Manor House Inn on your right amid the elegant restored mansions of Bar Harbor.
