My wife and I recently enjoyed a busy weekend in Maine with Pleasant Bay as our base. We reserved with their online reservation system using a credit card as with any other lodging - they lost our reservation twice but worked it out. We really only slept there, coming late and rising early in order to get in a full days touring. All very pleasant and we planned to return.

The unpleasantness came several weeks later when we received a certified letter accusing us of deliberately providing 'bogus' infomation, sneaking around, stealing in and out and finally 'stealing away without paying'. These are quotes. This is the only communication we received - no call or contact to correct any information. Best assumption is that they messed up the reservation yet again, but whatever the reason, not the way you treat customers or anyone.

So if you go:
- don't trust the reservation system
- do everything in paper and on a cash basis
- don't leave early or come late

Better yet, just go somewhere else. We sure will.
