My wife and I drove in for a romantic weekend. I chose the Sheraton because of its proximity to the French Quarter and what I felt were reasonable rates. The facilities were fine, and we loved the comfy king size bed. The bathroom door was either crooked or the jamb was warped on the bottom, because it stuck so tightly that it was difficult to close completely. Like most hotel restaurants this one was just fair, but since it was pouring rain when we arrived, we ate there our first night. The elevator system is a bit confusing at first (you type in the floor you want, and the system directs you to the proper car) but once you learned it, it was more efficient than the simple up-down buttons. No other real complaints, as the room was clean and the view of the river and the neighborhood was great.

Positives: Great location, nice view of the river, good service.

Negatives: Decor a bit worse for wear.

Excellent central location for access to French Quarter, Garden District, and Downtown New Orleans.

Positives: Excellent location close enough to but outside of the French Quarter, Canal Street public transit access was great.

Negatives: Complaint about noisy toilet running intermittently not addressed.

This hotel is in an excellent location. Considering its large size check in and check out were fast and efficient. The rooms are updated and well maintained.

Positives: Nice size room, updated furnishings, great view from the room

Negatives: New elevator system was not functioning properly at peak times causing backups.

This hotel is in a great location. The lobby looks and smells amazing. The pool is the only thing that is so-so about this hotel (small) but everything else was perfect.

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: Nothing

Positives: Very clean and very attractive.

Negatives: 33 dollar parking is ridiculous.

It is an awesome hotel. It is very beautiful. The overall atmosphere is very nice. We have stayed here before and definitely go back. The pool needs to have a waitress or a mini bar outside. We had to go all the way down from the eighth floor to the main floor to get drinks. A menu was on the wall for food but no one knew where to purchase it.

Positives: Room was very nice. It was extremely clean. Very nice bar area. Overall, atmosphere great.

Negatives: Pool didn't have anywhere you can buy food or drinks. A menu was on the wall but no one to order from.

Very nice hotel with very helpful, tourist oriented staff. But tips for valet and bellhops added a minimum of $20 per night and there were tons of hidden charges, starting with $37/night to park the car, $10/day to use the health center and $10-$14 for wi-fi access in room. The lobby was, however, well stocked with free, accessible computers. The pool closed at 9 pm, a huge draw-back when traveling with teenagers, as there wasn't anything else for them to do at that hour.

Positives: Lovely hotel in a convenient New Orleans location.

Negatives: Paying $37/night to park, tipping the valet, then the bellhop who unloaded then the second bellhop who delivered bags, while traveling with teen boys.

I would recommended this hotel to anyone who was visiting New Orleans. You are in walking distance of Bourbon Street and the Casino, and so much more to see, didn't have enough time to see everything. We had a great time looking forward to going back. I would definitely use priceline again.

Positives: The room was very clean, bed very comfortable and the view spectacular from our room, great staff.

Negatives: price for parking was expensive.

Good hotel to stay at. very clean and very friendly with the exception of the bar staff.

Positives: Clean//nice rooms and good location.

Negatives: Elevators take forever staff members at the bar are rude and very snobby.

Excellent location, Would stay there again. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good family atmosphere. Had a wonderful vacation. The hotel can, as you know, make or break a vacation. I

Positives: The staff was very responsive to any additional questions and needs that arose.

Negatives: The rooms were outdated. Didn't have refrigerator(did receive one for additional cost)

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 01 Mar 2011 rated 7 out of 10.

Staff was quick to make accommodations, my parents-in-law's room would not cool sufficiently, and when they asked for a fan to help them sleep the staff brought one up within minutes, even though they initially thought they did not have any fans. Concierge was very personable and knowledgeable, valets were friendly, but understaffed.

Positives: Staff were friendly, great location and

Negatives: Valet wait long & expensive, shower temp fluctuated wildly, air conditioner pathetic, room older and slightly dingy.

Walls were thin, could hear partying in the hallways. Carpet was old and stained. Rooms very non-descript. Lobby was nice. No free wi-fi in room. Were computers in lobby which was nice.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Rooms were old, walls were thin.

Great place to stay in New Orleans. Within a couple of blocks of Bourbon Street and walking distance to everything French Quarter. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and had a great view of the area. Great atrium bar as you walk into the hotel.

Positives: Centrally located and easily accessible to the most popular areas.

Negatives: Parking was expensive and valet only.

Great location and
friendly staff. Disappointing charge for fitness center.

Positives: Location, view from room

Negatives: $10 charge for using the fitness center in the hotel.

Great location, in the center of everything. Very clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

Positives: Great staff and location.

Negatives: A couple of elevator malfunctions.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 04 Dec 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

The parking situation was horrible. Cost over $30 to "valet" park the car. That was practically half the cost of the room. And it was VERY inconvenient. Took over 1/2 hour to get out car in the morning. Horrible!

Positives: The elevator!.

Negatives: The parking.

This was one of the worst stays I have ever had while staying in New Orleans. I travel there often for Mardi Gras and Essence music fest but this was my first time staying at the Sheraton. I was treated very rudely from the time I walked in the door. Parking was also horrible because their parking garage was full and I had to park several streets over.

Positives: The hotel was very convenient location wise.

Negatives: The rudeness of the staff.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 14 Nov 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

Right on Canal across from the Palace Cafe.

Positives: Talking elevators.

Negatives: Valet parking fee.

This hotel was beautiful! The staff was extremely friendly.

Positives: Great location!

Negatives: The bathtub needed some repairing.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 27 Oct 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

The hotel was great! We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go, and the staff was helpful. But when we checked in I was given a key to a room with people already in it. The staff helped clear up the issue, but relocated us to a floor that started renovations the next morning at 7 and no one wants to hear that after a night in New Orleans.

Positives: The location was great!

Negatives: Staff gave us a key to an occupied room.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 24 Oct 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

Staff was great. The price to park was not!

Positives: The staff.

Negatives: Paying for parking.

I am currently staying at the hotel for a conference. The staff was very friendly. I arrived 5 hours before check-in time and they were very friendly about storing my luggage so that I could walk around the Quarter without it. They also took my cell number and called me when my room was ready, which was only a couple of hours later. The room itself is nice and clean. The bed is fantastically comfortable. The view through the floor to ceiling windows is fabulous (hint: open the wooden blinds as if they are shutters.) Room service has been prompt and tasty. The location, close to the Quarter, is excellent. There is also a CVS just down the street in case you forgot to pack anything. I have only two criticisms of this hotel. First, the elevators. There are two banks of elevators, one is for the lower 29 floors and one is for the upper floors. You type in the floor number, you need and then it tells you which elevator to go to (A, B, C, etc.) There are not displays showing which floors have already been entered so you have no idea if other people are already waiting for your floor. There are displays like that on the inside of the elevator so you would think they could be installed on the outside as well. Second, and this is my biggest complaint, the Internet access is spotty. I've had to pay a daily fee ($5.95 for slower service, $12.95 for faster service), which isn't a big deal. However, the wi-fi does not work everywhere in the hotel. Works in my room and in the Rhythms rooms, but not in the Waterbury Ballroom or in the common areas outside those conference rooms. This has been odd and frustrating, considering that this appears to be a hotel that is often used for conferences.

Positives: Location, friendly staff, and nice rooms

Negatives: Poor internet access and elevators

The employees treated us well. Room was clean. Bed was a little too firm. No fridge or microwave, but it did have a coffeemaker and hair blow dryer. Valet parking was very overpriced at $33.

Positives: The location was great because I would walk to all area attractions.

Negatives: Valet parking was overpriced at $33. Should be 15-20 $.

It's a Sheraton but I didn't expect it to look so dingy and old inside. Bed and pillows are the best thing here. The pool is so small and surrounding area crowded. Not for swimming, dipping yes. There is no whirlpool.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Elevators, dingy old lobby, entrance.

Good experience. Would go again.

Positives: Sheraton name & location.

Negatives: Expensive parking.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 14 Sep 2010 rated 5 out of 10.

Nice lobby, but terrible rooms. The room was old and dirty with the carpet coming up. Bedding and towels were not that of a 4 star. This hotel should be a 3 star. JW Marriott is much nicer at same star rating.

Positives: The location and public area was good.

Negatives: Room was old and dirty with carpet coming up.

Great location and easy to find. In walking distance to superdome, French quarter and Riverwalk. Very comfortable beds and beautifully decorated room. Not enough parking on site.

Positives: Great location and very comfortable room.

Negatives: Parking garage was full when we arrived and we had to find a location to park and walk back to hotel.

Upon arrival at 3 pm, greeted by garage attendant with the news of
"no available parking". Gave me a map of downtown area garages to seek for myself. 3 women traveling in New Orleans (not the safest city) sent on their merry way to find a parking spot--not ideal! Offered no assistance in any other way.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Had no parking for my automobile!

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 31 Aug 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

The location is excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful decoration and overall appearance of the hotel. My room was very nice, but the bed was kinda hard.

Positives: I loved the view from my room and the lobby.

Negatives: The bed was hard and not very comfortable.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 30 Aug 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

The hotel is located right off of the French Quarter, trolley lines, etc and couldn't be more convenient to everything. Check-in was a breeze and the room was comfortable and mostly clean. The housekeeping staff was pretty good, but major things like a big sticky spot on the carpet and a really slow-draining tub were completely neglected. In all a nice hotel, but we've had much better at this star level.

Positives: Convenience to area attractions.

Negatives: Cleanliness was not the strong suit of the housekeeping staff.

Time for an upgrade. Very clean, very nice.

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: Old decor.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 20 Jul 2010 rated 1 out of 10.

The hotel had so many young kids attending a convention. They were up all night long slamming doors and making noise. Had maybe 2 hours sleep. I complained to the hotel management and they did try and keep them quite but it did not work for me. If I did not have my 81 year old dad with me I would have checked out.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Timing of my stay.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 11 Jun 2010 rated 6 out of 10.

There was nothing special about this hotel that made it stand out in anyway. Plus, 24 hour construction (Jackhammers) outside was annoying. The rooms were standard, regular fare (would find the same or better at Days Inn, Holiday Inn, etc). Expensive parking, Internet, and food.

Positives: Nice elevators.

Negatives: Expensive parking, just 'ok' rooms, noisy outside.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 11 Jun 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

Great location and far exceeded comfort expectations.

Positives: Extra helpful staff, really tried to go above and beyond.

Negatives: Bottled water was too expensive.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 04 Jun 2010 rated 2 out of 10.

The hotel elevator system with keypad out side is not convenience. The wait was slow 10 minute or more. The elevator is unsafe, witness couple time it got sticked when traffic was heavy.

Positives: Good location.

Negatives: The staff handle the elevator is unprofessional and rude.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 26 Apr 2010 rated 5 out of 10.

Gym in hotel was sparse with very old equipment. Very close to a number of good restaurants.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: I don't think the ceiling of the bathroom had ever been cleaned.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 15 Apr 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

The standard room is dated and the furniture is not in good condition; i.e. scratches and lacks the WOW factor that the hotel lobby and bar area have. It also does not have a bar/fridge in the room that I would expect from a 3.5 star rated hotel.

Positives: The initial impression was very favourable.

Negatives: The furnishings in the rooms are dated and scratched. Been in lesser hotels with updated flatscreen televisions.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 10 Apr 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

Great hotel, but some glitches. The concierge staff became like family. Put the sign out to say no need to clean, but then the housekeeping staff kept trying to bust into the room. Woke my son up twice. The hotel was inundated with college students (loud in the hallways) towards the latter part of our stay.

Positives: The concierge staff was fabulous!.

Negatives: Housekeeping kept busting into the room.

They did not have free breakfast there at all.
I might think about coming back. The rooms there are small.

Positives: It was OK but

Negatives: They didn't have any microwave in there or ice box.

Had I not gotten such a great deal on this hotel from Priceline, I would be very upset. Everything you do has over priced extra charges to it, some of which they try to charge you even if you don't use them. On the day of checkout I received the bill which had a $10 charge per day for using the fitness room. I called the desk about this and they were very rude when I asked about this, telling me that perhaps Mrs. (My Last Name) used the gym while I was in the shower or we were apart. They told me a woman by my last name signed a form in the gym on the 8th floor charging it to my room number. They actually called this woman my wife. I let the lady know that I am not married and there is no woman by my last name traveling with me and that the woman I was traveling with (my girlfriend) and I had not been apart at all and neither of us had even been on the 8th floor. At this time she called the gym and put me on hold for about 5 minutes and when she returned said that they couldn't make out the name on the form even though she had been so sure when she said Mrs. (My Last Name) before. She then took the charge off making sound as if she was doing me a favor and letting me get away with one. This was a very frustrating experience especially on the day of check out just before the 6 hour drive home.

Positives: The location was great for walking just about everywhere in New Orleans.

Negatives: They attempted to tack on additional charges for services we did not use and there were roaches in the bathroom.

Loved the convience of the location of the hotel. Walking distance from everything. Very nice - friendly staff. Beautiful rooms with AMAZING views of the city. Highly recomended!

Very inviting. Great lobby.

Positives: The option of "going green" and getting a $5 gift card.

Negatives: Had to go the lobby for free wireless internet.

Very nice hotel. Very comfortable beds, I slept like a baby. Feather pillows. Starbucks in the lobby and on the trolley route. About a ½ mile from the convention center and just across the street from the French Quarter and a ton of great restaurants. I'd stay here again - clean, quiet and comfortable.
Positives: Across the street from the French Quarter. Easy walk to Bourbon St.

Negatives: One part bathroom, I like to have the sink separate.

Nice hotel in a great location. We upgraded to the club level, which was totally worth it, came with a great view and breakfast. The pool was a real bummer, way too small to use. But the gym was great. Overall, nice hotel.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Parking

I stayed at this hotel because of a conference that was being held here. It was a clean hotel with good service. However, it is beyond comprehension to me why there is no complimentary wireless access or why it is so poor all throughout the hotel. What is more, valet parking is required and it's $30/day! If you're about the French Quarter (I'm not), it's in a pretty good location.

Positives: Central location, clean rooms, friendly service.

Negatives: Charge for wireless/high speed internet access, expensive required valet.
