Great location. Thought it was rather tacky and they tried to up sell us on a room.
Positives: The location was perfect between the French Quarter and Garden District.
Negatives: Rooms and bathrooms were rather small. Our room had a rattle that kept us awake!

This hotel has horrible plumbing and has a smell. The lobby is great but the rooms are stale.

I was very impressed with the room we received on a prior visit. This visit we were put in another section of the hotel which was not as nice. Hopefully they are undergoing renovations. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. The valet parking was convenient but the parking fees are high.
Positives: Very good location.
Negatives: I think we were put in one of the older rooms. The paint was peeling on the bathroom door. Parking fees were high.

Negatives: Small bathrooms.

The hotel was excellent and the price was very good. Parking was expensive as expected, but the location was perfect for riding the trolley, going to the French Quarter and driving to other locations. The room was small but very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Not sure why they still have analog TV. Overall, it was a great experience and a good trip. All that we expected.
Positives: It was very clean and the staff took excellent care of the room.
Negatives: Check-in tried to upgrade us to a better view. I thought they should have given us the available room.

We adore our weekend getaways in New Orleans and have stayed at the Marriott on Canal numerous times. The location is wonderful! On the edge of the Quarter, close to the River and Warehouse districts and directly on the streetcar line. The rooftop pool is lovely for a relaxing afternoon before going out to Bourbob street. We always have cocktails and apps in the bar area when we arrive. Starbucks available on site for coffee and snacks. The staff is very accommodating, security present and on point, valets work efficiently through the busy check-in/out times. Whether alone for a romantic weekend or for a family outing, we have been extremely pleased with this property

Positives: The location of this hotel is superb!
Negatives: The couches have been removed from the garden area of the rooftop pool. Very disappointing.

I would recommend this hotel as it is conveniently located, well maintained and generally speaking, a nice staff.
Positives: FedEx/Kinko's on first floor and the elevator process. Generally speaking, a nice experience.
Negatives: Intermittent morning paper delivery, not the friendliest bartender at the lobby bar.

I stay at this hotel frequently and have never been disappointed This trip was a disappointment. The A/C in the room went out. The tub did not drain. The parking garage made me wait for an hour for my car b/c they forgot to send someone to go get it. So much for my dinner plans! And the staff in the parking garage is terribly rude. God forbid you actually expect them to do something!!
Positives: Excellent hotel bar.
Negatives: The parking garage needs some serious improvements in both staff and procedure.

Good location, clean comfortable rooms, nice pool changes colors.
Positives: The location was in walking distance to all attractions.
Negatives: Check in was long, had to take a lesser room after an hour and a half.

This hotel has a great lobby, friendly staff and nice amenities.
Positives: The lobby is beautiful!
Negatives: No airport shuttle.

Overall a good stay. When you enter the lobby area and see the beauty you are a bit disappointed with the rooms which show their age and wear a bit more. There was a sheet of plywood under one of the mattresses. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Positives: Eagerness of the staff to assist was exceptional.
Negatives: Price for parking is very high.
Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 17 Dec 2010 rated 1 out of 10.
The staff was rude and the rooms are small, beds were not comfortable for Marriott and it's hard to even begin to describe the pain of the valet parking. I had to wait in a line out in the cold windy and raining weather for over an hour to request my car. When I voiced my opinion about how horrible it is to treat guest this way and charge them so much for a room and 35 bucks for parking they said they didn't care and wouldn't do anything about it. I recommend to not stay at this hotel, even after doing bourbon street and really tired from all that, I still couldn't sleep from all the noise of the elevator. All night long whenever a person request an elevator it loudly beeps 4 times and saying that you are downtown, people are coming and going all night long.
Positives: Located close to Bourbon street.
Negatives: Horrible valet parking and hard to sleep with so much elevator beeping noise.

Nice hotel. Enjoyed Thanksgiving buffet. Staff was friendly. Only problem was damp odor in room and could have been cleaner.
Positives: Walking distance to French Quarter attractions. Safe parking garage attached to hotel.
Negatives: Room could have been cleaner.

The Marriott New Orleans is in a great location to entertainment, dining, and bars. The room had a great view, but I didn't feel that the facilities were as nice as other parts of the hotel.
Positives: The location was excellent!
Negatives: The room had a great view, but the bathroom looked worn, the back of the door was scraped and damaged, and there was no mini-fridge.

As a long weekend leisure traveler, this hotel is an excellent place to stay if going to the French Quarter by foot or catching the streetcar to Canal, the Garden District, or the River walk. Food in the breakfast buffet was good and there was a Starbucks in the lobby. Bathrooms were very uncomfortable, but products were lovely.
Positives: The staff was lovely, nice products in the bath and great location.
Negatives: Older hotel, bathroom is very uncomfortable, rug not vacuumed and concierge was not so helpful.
Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 21 Oct 2010 rated 8 out of 10.
The hotel was nice, not sure if I would rank it 4 stars. The staff was very friendly, it seems more like a business hotel, not very romantic and
no fresh flowers. It is in a great location and we would stay again.
Positives: Location and friendly staff.
Negatives: We were given two queen bed, when we would rather have a king bed.

This hotel was very lively and entertaining. The lobby was great, filled with people and the bar was great. Waitresses very helpful to travelers. Bedroom very comfortable and clean. No free internet connection in room. I would stay again at the rate I received on Priceline for sure. I LOVED the bargain.
Positives: Bed was so comfortable.
Negatives: You had to pay 15.95 to have internet connection in your room.

This is a nice hotel in a great location, but it is not a four star hotel. At best this is a three star hotel.
Positives: Location was excellent
Negatives: Old T.V., remote did not work, cost of parking was excessive

The hotel was very convenient to restaurants and entertainment. It was a very short walk. The rooms were clean and quite. The staff was helpful. I did not like the fact that we were not told that we would be charged for parking. We paid around $33 for our 16 hour stay.
Positives: It was a great location in the French Quarter and short walking distance to the waterfront. It was quite at night, so we slept well. Clean, friendly.
Negatives: We were not told that we would have to pay for parking. Therefore we were very surprised when we had to pay $33 for less than 15 hours.

Good location, clean and nice exercise facility. Should have free internet reception. Hard to connect on lobby downstairs. I asked for a 4 star hotel and got a 3 star. I am concerned this will also happen in the future. The hotel was fine however.
Positives: The workout room individual TV's, fans on machines. Air conditioning in room, open 24 hours.
Negatives: Hard to use computer had to go downstairs to get free reception. Bathroom was small.
Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 13 May 2010 rated 10 out of 10.
This hotel exceeded our expectations, from the giant lobby with beautiful furnishings and a full in-house Starbucks to a very clean room with beautiful white cotton linens, soft pillows and memory-foam toppers on each bed. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and efficient. Although the lobby and amenities were very "grown up" cocktail bar, expensive furnishings we never felt unwelcome with our small children. Safe parking is a plus, lack of free Wi-Fi in the rooms is our sole complaint.
Positives: High level of service, extremely clean and the beds were the most comfortable I've been in.
Negatives: No free Wi-Fi in the rooms, only available in the lobby. Very inconvenient and expensive, as we wanted to research places to eat that night.
Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 26 Apr 2010 rated 10 out of 10.
Very convenient. Clean and most of the workers are helpful and friendly.
Positives: Clean, friendly, comfortable bed, walking distance to almost places I wanted to see and restaurants.
Negatives: We checked in on bad day. Lots going on. Very busy and no one told me about how the elevator works. Other than that it was fine.

The hotel is in a great location close to everything. The rooms were a bit plain but for the low price we paid and the small amount of time spent in our room we didn't mind.
